  1. Have they filled this position yet?
  2. To add a little light on the situation as it pertains to the inner- city programs, particular in IPS. This past year the school board decided to close four IPS schools: Arlington, Broad Ripple, Northwest, and John Marshall. All of the above mentioned schools for the past ten NEVER filled an entire team, at best they maybe had a total of 30 participants. The remaining teams: Tech, Washington, Attucks and Shortridge are the only IPS teams that may offer wrestling for the students that are enrolled in the district. The latter two teams aren't sure if they are going to have the interest to field at program at all. I have coached in this district for over 16 years and the participation has declined every year for various reasons. Ultimately, I chose to somewhat "retire" from coaching in IPS and concentrate on my sons that wrestle club at Beech Grove. The transfer rule is a very touchy subject, you can look at the top tier teams in the state and some of them have benefited from state placers from other schools and they have won team state titles from a smaller school transfer. As far as the City is concerned namely, the Indianapolis City Wrestling Championships there will be a total of about 9 or so with maybe 3 teams with at full lineup. So, do we penalize the kid for wanting to transfer?
  3. I can list several reason why this site is terrible, if I list multiple reason that just goes to show why it should be SHUT DOWN!!!!! 1. They keep the wrestling community informed about rule changes and open dates, etc.... 2. They provide rankings that are often referenced by the local newspaper, i.e. Indystar and the commentators that broadcast various tournaments including the IHSAA STATE FINALS!!! 3. College coaches frequently visit the board to view wrestlers profiles. 4. It keeps you up to date concerning youth tournaments results and mentions The Who's Who of Indiana wrestling. 5. It lists coaches accomplishments and records team records, individual records, etc...... 6. The moderator's are to busy coaching their own teams really to put a lot of work into this site. 7. They are REALLY COOL DUDES THAT HAVE SHOWN DEDICATION TO THE SPORT TO KEEP THE COACHES, FANS, AND OFFICIALS ABREAST TO WHAT IS GOING ON IN THE WRESTLING COMMUNITY IN INDIANA!!! DISCLAMIER, I AM JUST A RETIRED COACH THAT COACH'S HIS SON AT HIS CLUB, BEECH GROVE, AND WHAT TO SEE THE SPORT GROW AND ANY EXPOSURE IS GOOD EXPOSURE IMO!!!
  4. Nothing is posted on their website yet.
  5. With the addition of freshman coming in, they have a strong possibility to repeat!!!
  6. What is his projected weight I have heard 106 or 113?
  7. Ok, well Frankie is STILL a COOL DUDE!!!! lol
  8. I am assuming that everyone is talking about Frankie, I am sure of one thing he is an Irish Alum and as far as having a bias towards Cathedral I will beg to differ. I know that ALL my encounters against Cathedral and Frankie went in the school I was coaching at favor for the most part.; some of my kids were out wrestled, early in my coaching career at Howe. Not to mention my athletes' were trained to "break the Cathedral mode" and wrestling a high paced style and keep them off the edge of the mat. This was before the new rules with scoring out of bounds. I can say that I have known Frankie my entire wrestling career as a wrestler and a coach and he is one of the BEST officials around.
  9. What is the record for team points? It's going to interesting to say the least. Going into the Finals Brownsburg has two finalist, two going for 5/6th and three going for 3/4th. (7 total) Cathedral has four finalist, two going for 3/4th, and one going for 7/8th. (7 total) Columbus East has three finalist, two going for 3/4th, and one going for 7/8th. (6 total)
  10. Columbus East is making their presence known, they have 5 in the semi finals.
  11. I was looking at that as well. We shall see, I am waiting for them to get started.
  12. I am assuming so, I guess we shall see how things will pan out today. I think that it is going to be a tight team race with Cathedral, Brownsburg, and possibly Columbus East.
  13. Are the team scores correct on Trackwrestling? Brownsburg and Cathedral with 21?
  14. With brackets being released tomorrow, who are you going with to take the title???
  15. i know specifically for the New Castle Semi State there is going to be some VERY ticket round matches!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! As well as, the other semi state sites.
  16. Indianapolis Manual, I am sure of two of their wrestlers, 152-Jericho Grahman, Sr, 195-Risque Earls, Fr. Earls was in my class last year at Marshall.
  17. What is the rule for approved singlets during IHSAA State Series?? I will upload a pic of what I seen, I am trying to figure out how to crop the photo to delete the kid's face.
  18. I know that there are several teams that advanced all 14 to Regionals. I will name a few. Cathedral North Central Warren Central Roncalli
  19. That's nuts!!! Oh well kids should've made weight.
