Im not a statisical genius by anymeans...if you want a sweet for loop im your guy but as per the internet: Naive interpretation of statistics derived from data sets that include outliers may be misleading. For example, if one is calculating the average temperature of 10 objects in a room, and nine of them are between 20 and 25 degrees Celsius, but an oven is at 175 °C, the median of the data will be between 20 and 25 °C but the mean temperature will be between 35.5 and 40 °C. In this case, the median better reflects the temperature of a randomly sampled object than the mean; naively interpreting the mean as "a typical sample", equivalent to the median, is incorrect. As illustrated in this case, outliers may be indicative of data points that belong to a different population than the rest of the sample set. this doesnt mean population as in number of people but statitistal population as in a subset of data figures (IE class)

So all the Ohio, Pennsylvania, Illiniois, Michigan, New York, Wisconsin State Champs have "eroded character in perseverance and made a mockery of wrestling as a sport." Because based off their performance at the next level they are much better than us at the moment.

if thats the case why are there not more small school state placers? or at least a proportional amount compared to qualifiers.

I always say make it as close to a WWE Event as you can...let kids come out to music, hire a DJ, use a smoke machine. That is only half of the equation though you have to have exciting and competitive wrestling as well.

Has anyone had an old mat cut into small sections and sold off?

I was told cutting a mat is not a real new thing. We have a One piece mat because someone thought that would be a good idea and have looked in to getting it cut in to sections. Shouldnt be too difficult. -
SO you will be the one to tell guys like David Taylor, Brent Metcalf, Kyle Dake, they are not really state champions? Also by your definition they are not really National Champions either.

Thanks man. Really clears things up...big question though can I at least consider my self a state placer? I am not sure if you watched my match and if that didn't happen I will have to toss my medals and brackets....

You haven't destroyed anything. All of your "arguments" have been from the viewpoint of whats better for the fans. Whats better for the kids and the sport? Smaller schools being able to have more of a shot to make it to state would make it easier to get kids out. Thus getting more kids on wrestling mats. Thus more kids wrestling in the off season because they were close to placing they could taste it. 10 years down the road we have more quality wrestlers. This is not an overnight sort of thing. I could careless if you feel the talent is better or worse honestly I don't know if you even have an eye for talent. Avoid ours if it happens and drive to Kentucky and watch that superior tournament. The loss of 50 crazy people will be minuscule to the 100's of new fans who come support their small town athletes.

it should be ran in the qualifiers...and i always wanted to have the 5th place wrestle for true fourth when we had those wanna be wrestlebacks but its a time thing so don't expect it ever
