  1. Hahaha...he didn't just beat Rinaldi...that's the worst punishment he has dished out to date! Rinaldi is the one that deserves props for getting up so many times! It was unbelievable. His face looked like hamburger after the fight! http://mixedmartialartvideos.com/dave-herman-vs-mario-rinaldi-video-elite-xc-street-certified/
  2. He told me today that he feels like he will honestly walk into the cage in better shape then he ever has. That is promising because you know dang well that Bellator is banking on him losing this fight. I fought on the same card as Ricco in Fort Wayne in July. His opponent wasn't worthy, but I sized him up...he is going to be in a world of hurt when he gets in the cage with Herman. Herman doesn't feel pain so Ricco's submission attempts aren't going to work, just like York's didn't!
  3. Not at all! I literally just spoke with Dave, so all of the information is correct.

Kurt will be largely undersized (you will likely see when official weights come out). He is already losing weight for the wrestling season and every time I hang out with him he's already watching his diet and losing weight for wrestling. Regardless I will clearly take Kurt in this fight, lighter or not. It would have been nice for him to fight 155 (like he did for Bellator not too long ago), but he gladly stepped up and moved up a weight class to fight Bailey.
  5. Yes, sir. It is a one fight contract with Bellator. After this he is officially released from Bellator and has no contract obligation to them whatsoever. You can bet he won't be fighting for them again, ever, unless it's one fight contracts, no strings attached, and for big money! P.S. I guess you could say that he got all of his legal issues worked out. They aren't paying him back for all of the legal stuff they've been going through which amounts in the tens of thousands of dollars. At least he can get back to work though without other promotions being scared of being sued.
  6. I believe Jarred's dad posted above that he was 3-1...
  7. That Cal College room is dang tough in those lower weights!
  8. I agree with MattM...there are some of us that are not in the area that would love to participate in the auction to help Angel out!
  9. The South wrestler was Chris Head, not Daniel Head. Kurt did fight Daniel Head at KOTC and dismantled him.
  10. Leroy and his wife, Sarah, gave birth to their first baby boy last night. Lydon J Vega weighed in at 8 pounds 4 ounces. Congrats to the Vega family!
  11. I believe the article is wrong in stating that Wright was the head coach at Portage though.
  12. Also, I believe there is a separate forum for college/international discussion. THAT would be the place for this topic.
  13. Did he forget or just not include him?
  14. Suppose you hit a standup and we are in the front to back position. Then I basically jump on your back and use both of my feet to kick out your knees from behind you. That is the situation they are referring to.
  15. I had the privelage of coaching and teaching this young man last year. I am very proud of Canacci. He is a very hard worker and a VERy respectable young man. He deserves all of the honors that he has received and will receive in the future. Great job, Canac!!!!
  16. Dave won the first round handily. He was winning the second round in dominating fashion. His opponent was actually refraining from engaging with him. With about 10 seconds left in the second round Dave went to throw a knee and Soko dropped to a knee. Therefore Dave was DQ'd for kneeing a downed opponent's head. It is widely rumored that Soko put on quite the "show" as he acted too hurt to continue. The unfortunate thing about this is that this was an "all or none" Grand Prix. Jeff Monson, the heavy favorite to win this tournament, also lost in the first round. Currently it is in the works to get Dave's "loss" changed to a no-contest. The appeal process has already started.
  17. Ha...pee-wees are way harder to do than the juniors are! Any one that officiates the Olympic styles can likely attest to this! Those little ones roll around and many times they don't have a clue when the points are even being scored. At least the juniors have more control on their scoring!
  18. Dave is currently signed with Bellator and Sengoku. He is having some issues with Bellator right now and therefore will not be signing with any one else any time soon here in the states. When he does, you will likely be seeing him with the UFC before the year ends.
  19. We are still working hard at getting the best possible lineup. Fortunately for all Indiana wrestling fans you will get to see our lineup at our FIRST EVER home wrestling meet the first week of November against Baker University.
  20. We are stacking up on the light guys! Tony has committed to wrestled for Coach Vega and the Crimson Wave. Tony placed 3rd, 5th, and 7th in the State Championships during his tenure as a Knight. He is a projected 125 lber. We are pumped up about the team that we are building in northwest Indiana! Congrats Tony, Coach Nicola
  21. Al White from Mishawaka HS has verbally committed to Coach Vega and the Crimson Wave wrestling team. He will be signing on Wednesday. Congratulations to this young man for advancing his wrestling career at the collegiate level!
  22. Seth Bonic from Morris HS in Illinois has verbally committed to to Coach Vega and the Crimson Wave wrestling team. He will be signing to make everything official next week. Seth placed in Illinois state during his high school career and was ranked #1 in the state at 125 at one point this season. His season was cut short by an injury. We are looking forward to having this young man on our squad!
  23. Congrats to Frankie for being named Indiana's recipient of the prestigious Dave Schultz High School Excellence award. This young man is racking up the honors this year! http://themat.com/section.php?section_id=3&page=showarticle&ArticleID=21877
  24. Does the NUWAY/HYWA card (membership) offer secondary insurance like the USA Wrestling membership does?
  25. Danny Bradley committed to coach Leroy Vega and the CCSJ Crimson Wave toady. He is a projected 133 pounder. We are excited to have this young man on board on our quest for national prominence! Coach Nicola
