  1. I just woke up from my 2nd nap today, old age is getting to me. I am a Mishawaka resident, fan, alumni, etc. But I am a huge Mater Dei fan (except when they wrestle us!) A down year for Mater Dei?? Maybe, but everybody saying that is like waving a toy in front of a rattlesnake. Great school, great program, great coaches. And NO, I don't think they recruit. For years that has been thrown around, and if you happen to visit Evansville...grab a phone book, and see how many of those "recruits" happen to have a sh$% load of relatives in the area. Remember the Weinzapfels?? Well I had the pleasure of meeting the Mayor of Evansville a couple years ago... Mayor Weinzapfel.
  2. I'm not sure the size of Delphi, but very impressed with sending 5 to Indy.
  3. Don't know how Griffith's run slipped my mind, I bet they had the most until now.
  4. That would be my best guess too, but without going back through old programs, I'm not sure that EMD had multiple champs for that many years.
  5. I hate to jinx anybody, but I'm curious (Ancient Elder!!) In the "modern" era, lets say 1980+, what school has the most consecutive years with multiple individual State Champions. A certain school (knocking on wood) will be going for a 4th consecutive year with multiples.
  6. It is my understanding that he is done for the season
  7. IU for some reason didn't start recruiting Howe early enough. Other schools had made more effort and expressed more interest by the time IU got their heads out of their butts.
  8. Yes, I'll have to agree. I will also go out on a limb here and say, it will be a former 171lb State Champion that will walk away with the victory.
  9. Trent is not a returning state qualifier. MHS' crafty AD Dept and 'legal' team consist of Ben and Cindy Reinoehl. Neither have a legal background, but in this economy I'm sure they would be willing to litigate for you with a nice retainer!
  10. Agreed, very well written and I love the pictures. I try to follow all of our Hoosier Alums on the internet and Big10 Network, but it is great to get an indepth summary like Dingo's. Thank you and keep it up!
  11. Just heard from mama Reinoehl, and I am very pleased, good kid from what I've heard, great family on both sides from personal knowledge. Any accusations about their character or intentions I can assure you are misguided. Unforeseen circumstances appeared. Funny thing I contemplated during this was that Trent's brother's eligibility was never questioned with regards to residence, but somehow Trent's was assuming brothers live with their parents. Welcome back young man, happy to see you enjoy some of your senior season! Great job pseudo-attorneys Ben and Cindy!
  12. I hope that is true about Trent! Haven't spoke to the family, but that would be great for him after senior night when he couldn't get on the mat
  13. I'm away from the laptop so please keep the updates coming to feed my 'crackberry'!
  14. Devon Nelson, Mishawaka, two-time runner-up. Pinned defending State Champ jr year then the favor was returned in the championship match the following year.
  15. Brad broke his arm during football season. His first appearance was at Al Smith Trny that year
  16. Well in the Michiana area the counties in Indiana are LaPorte, St. Joseph, Elkhart, LaGrange, Kosciusko, Fulton, Noble, Starke, and Marshall. It also says Lake and Porter, but that is the Region over there. Well, since it is a fictional geographic area made up mostly by the media, there is no designated "Michiana" area by cartographers nor dictionaries. Given the term, it is fairly obvious that it is deriven from the MICHigan/indIANA bordering communities. Thus, the communities closest to the border between state lines are in general referred to as Michiana. Kosciusko Co. is part of my territory for work, and they are more linked with the "lakes" in Indiana than Michigan. Lesson adjourned.
  17. As much as I'd like Brooks in that line-up, I don't think Warsaw is considered Michiana. A little too far south.
  18. I'm a "Michiana" guy, but have to agree, as far as geographical regions, "Da Region", is the toughest. Throw in Mishawaka, Penn, and some good individuals from the South Bend schools, you see why Merrillville S-S is so tough.
  19. In particular, I'm curious to know what Center Grove thought of the tournament as they were a new team this year, that did very well by the way! Up here we have known for years how good it is, just wondered what some of the new blood thought of it?
