I'm really glad this topic has come up as my family is going through this right now. My son is a very young 8th grader (June birthday). He loves wrestling and is getting better every year. He is not great but I would say he is above average as of now. Physically he is imature not a hair on him (haha) and he weighs low 80's. I have spoke to him about his options and he wants to stay back and continue to train and get bigger so he has a chance in high school. I really struggle with this as he gets good grades and I'm not living through my kids as I didnt even wrestle in high school. His goal is to become a college wrestler my goal is to support my son in whatever he wants to do in life. I would appreciate any advice or comments from this community as I've been discussing this allot with coaches and our family. Thanks in advance for the advice or comments.
Had a great time last night. Nice to see some local College wrestling in the region! Coach Vega's Kids wrestled hard. They will keep getting better and older!
Good Luck the rest of the way!
Cant wait to get back!! Sounds like this Club keeps improving every year. What a great group of coaches. Do you plan on hosting a tournament at Calumet??
Cp will have 2 kids out today. Hawkins has shingles and Cope is out for disciplinary reasons. Dogs had a Great year wish the draw would've worked out better. Nice job Coach Vlink and staff this team really got better as the year went on. Go Dogs!!
We've been going to Indy Nationals for several years and I thought It was the best one yet. There were some really good kids there from Georgia,Wisconsin and Illinois. Indiana kids did great and hung right in there with there best. Great setting in Butler. That was cool. Nice job Red Cobra.

What will happen my son is a novice 105 and there is no one in his weight. There is several at a 100 but were not sure if we can make it. If you dont make weight can you bump from what you sign up for? Thanks for the help
Congrats to Anthony and his family all your dedication and hard work paying off. Great news for the region and younger kids to be able to follow him so easy. Great Job now get back to training!!
Mike I was watching Jason and Cody wrestle at practice last night and I cant imagine them getting much competion at there age group they look awesome. I think theres no question that if you pay your entry fee and you weigh the same who cares about the age kids develop diffrent let em move around whatever there family thinks is best. This is all about development for bigger levels isnt it??
Good Luck this season,
Akers family
Just wanted to say thanks to all the coaches and Brani Cash for putting this all together it was a great experience and really put together well. Indiana has some of the best wrestling parents and it was great to hang out all weekend together. I must say our kids wrestled there hearts out and showed great sportsmanship all weekend!!! They never gave up and there were some great teams they went against. Thanks again we hope to be back next year too.

I really think this is why we need to hire officials during our Sunday tournaments. The more mat time the better you are. Maybe next year we can pay $3 dollars more and keep our kids safe and get officials more mat time. It will make Indiana wrestling much better...
