True but I would bet a nickel if that Hall of Fame football coach had not been around all those years, Mr. Kernn might have looked elsewhere.

The big schools would go through a learning curve much like they have with basketball. When we classed basketball, many many mid to large schools lost there hegemony over their sectionals and were forced to compete with schools their own size. If we classed wrestling, I would prefer to think that the large schools are now playing on a level field instead of hurting them. The benefit is that all schools will be on a level field.

I think that Plymouth is the team to beat. Triton needs another wrestleback round like they had at conference. Possible good match ups. 120 - Greene (Triton) vs. Davis (CMA) should be a slobber knocker. Neither wants to see Hildebrandt on their side of the bracket next week. 152 - I agree that this will be an intense match up as well. It doesn't get any easier next week with Prentice, Evans and Breathitt coming to Rochester. A very good wrestler will not be moving on to semi state. 220 - Moser (Bremen) and Griffith (CMA) will be good. I see both moving on to semi state as well.

I would guess its the same reason as Indiana...the are saying it is an individual sport. Track, Swimming an Wrestling are one class in Cali where the rest are classed sports.
