  1. Dolly here with the information you need - Mike has chosen to stay off the message board until State Finals is over. We were out of town I didn't see your message until late last night. Mike called your home phone and left a message and our home phone number for you to call if you have any more questions. Here is the information. The Shoulder Center - Dr. Vivek Agrawal - 10801 N. Michigan Road Suite 100; Zionsville, IN 46077 Phone - (317) 802-9686. Please give us a call to let us know you got this information. Thanks, Dolly.
  2. Duck is 36-0 at this point and Phillips is 31-0
  3. That is correct Cody was sick during the North Central Invite
  4. J's won't be open that early on Saturday morning and you probably won't want one left over from friday night
  5. Better start teaching it granby's RIGHT NOW!!!! ??? congrats
  6. I'm really not at liberty to say at this time if I told you Michael said he would have to kill me :-X He said that I can tell you after the sectional tourney. But if it is anything like last year He will ban me from this board before sectional until after state.I think that was one of the toughest months of my life it was definitely tougher then when I quit smoking
  7. I didn't mean for my post to come off as if I was bragging on Michael or slamming on the young Mr. Early.I think he is a very good wrestler for only being a sophomore. I was just responding to what Throw for five put in the post right above mine in the 189 result area.No disrespect to anyone sorry if it came off that way.
  8. Early @189 from GC DID NOT WIN connersville Duckworth did pinned Early in the first period
  9. He was 49-0 at the end of last year but if you add his 27 on from this year he's 76-0 for his high school career thus far
  10. yeah I'm positive as long as you don't turn 20 before your sports state finals you are eligible and you can only have 4 years of eligibility Cody meets all this criteria since he was held back in middle school Justin Brooks did the same thing a couple years ago and he wrestled all 4 years
  11. nope got 2 more after this one
  12. Our coach told me that a kid doesn't even have to attend school at all on friday and can still wrestle on saturday if they are feeling better . Someone correct me if I am wrong but I do beleive this is the rule
  13. Michael Duckworth- Union County 2a 1st team running back
  14. At the end of the 160 match WC is up 21-16 with LN pin at 171 that should have put them up by 1 22 to 21 (not 22 to 22) as shown (typo probably) thus the houdini point so when WC got the pin at 189 they did indeed get 6 and not 5 21 +6= 27 so at the end of 189 it's 27-22 WC that score is correct. However at the end of 285 the score is 28-27 LN and when WC gets the pin at 103 it should have put them ahead 33 to 28 (not 33 to 27) (again probably a typo) so when LN got their pin at 112 they actually only got 6 and not 7 28+6=34 thus the extra point and the final score 34-33 LN is correct
  15. Congrats to you Sammy. You and your family should be proud you will be doing some great things in your future endeavors I just know it. You guys have been very good to us ever since You and Michael have became friends through this great sport and We are forever grateful. Best of luck to you this season looking forward to seeing you atop the podium in Feb. The Duckworth family
  16. Andrew Vrabel from the region ? And is the Vrabel that plays or played for the New England Patriots related to him ?
  17. For those of you who do not already know I am Duck's dad. To shed some light onto what weight He will be wrestling this year I will tell you this. Michael was weighing 205 at the begining of football season this year (that was before the football roster adds 10lbs to your body ) So that is where the 215 came into play. But when you carry the ball anywhere between 38 to 48 times a game it is not to easy to gain weight (muscle or otherwise). As of right now his walking around weight is in the middle to upper 190 's. My advice to him (which is always the advice that Michael never seems to listen to.) is to wrestle 215 and not have to worry about cutting even 1 pound. Michael is real grouchy when He has to cut weight something about eating and drinking that appeals to him I guess. And because He has already signed with Ohio which to me is what it's has really been all about all these years.( A good college education) I feel He can relax and have fun this year no matter what the outcome.Michael has never really ever had that luxury ever during wrestling seasons in the past.I thought it would be funny that He could eat pizza and twinkies and drink Gatorades on the bus ride to all the away tournaments and meets while the rest of the team was starving and dying of thirst.Mean yes but still funny. However (There's always a However) after taking a trial fat test at school and talking to his club and high school coaches Michael is considering cutting weight again this year. His fat test says that the lowest weight that he can go is 163 that is what 160 is the 2nd day at conseco. So I'm thinking if I sign a parental waiver so He can make scratch weight one time He can go 160 this year.(not out of the question).Or if he chooses to He can cut a little less weight and go 171 or cut very little weight and go 189. So there you have it he could wrestle 160,171,189, or 215 hope this clears every thing up for you.I will tell you this that Michael has already told me that during the regular season He is going to wrestle at the weight class in each of the meets that is going to give him the best competition. So you all might be suprised to see him wrestling at some of the places He is going to this year. It's not going to be about wins and losses but about finding the toughest matches which is really what Michael's been about always. Remember his freshman year Pittman, Ulrey and Hoffmeister OUCH.At the close of the regular season We will all set down and decide which weight class to go to make the run for another state title. You may say at that time well He Ducked so & so or He dodged whats a majigger. But I say He is making an educated decision on wrestling in the weight class that He feels He can do the best in.We all know that there are no easy matches at conseco. And if you say well I would give up a State title at this weight just so I could wrestle so & so at another weight. I would say I don't believe you. Michael will wrestle every match to win it and if He does great and if He doesn't so be it.To be honest I am probably Michael's worst critic and didn't feel like He was going to win the matches that he did in the before mentioned posts and told him so.Boy did he prove Me wrong and I hope He does again this year good luck to all this year.
  18. Hey Dingo thats some pretty good stuff right there. I have always appreciated your support for Indiana wrestlers my son included but you forgot he also beat Myers and Baker his Sophomore year that wasn't very impressive either ;D
  19. Y2 if you can post this story on this topic go ahead and do it thanks in advance. By the way I don't think I have ever met you in person I would like to try and do that some time before the end of the season maybe at Conseco. The closest Union County gets to the Fort Wayne area is when we wrestle Whinchester in a dual and that ones at home this year
  20. Go to newsexaminer.com click on archives enter Nov 5th in advanced search box along with Michael's name (sorry not very computer savy tried to copy and paste link but something went wrong :-[) Hope this helps to answer some of the questions as to why. I think He made his decision based on what felt right to him. I am extremely proud of him no matter what.
  21. Check out this video from last friday's game 1 of 4 rushing touchdowns threw for a touchdown and had an interception for a touchdown 231 yards rushing on 27 carries
  22. Congratulations to Chuck Bennett (Sammy's dad) for his awesome cover photographs on the April 15th issue that had the Wright vs. Eppert semi-state match and the May 30th issue that had the Grimes vs. Duckworth state championship match on the covers of the Wrestling USA Magazines. Also inside the May 30th issue is another one of Chuck's great shots of the Grey vs. Tsirtsis state championship match. It is nice to see some Indiana boys getting some national exposure. Great job Chuck!! Also It was not Chucks Photo's but Humprey vs. Gomez is on the May 15th cover also with Howe vs. King photo on the inside of that same issue. Really cool stuff.
  23. Duck and Atwood both got beat by the same kid from Illinois a sophomore named Johwon Akui. Duck lost 9-4 to him and Atwood lost 3-1 to him but you can ask coach Atwood and hopefully he will agree that he got a very good scouting report about Akui from a very handsome fellow but with that being said I'm not taking nothing away from Braden He is a great wrestler and a even better person The Atwoods are class acts through and through in my book.Akui was a AA in Fargo last year Akui was pinned earlier in the tourney by Michael Evans of PA. who was also an AA in Fargo last year and is the # 2 ranked Junior in the country Evans is who Duck lost his 3rd match to 12-4 but for some reason PA bump Evans up against IN blue and Braden didn't get to wrestle him. This is the second year that both Braden and Duck have participated in the Showcase and while I can't speak for Braden I can speak for Duck and Myself when we go to this tourney we go to try and win every match but we know that it might be a tough road to hoe but we know that when we leave we will be a better wrestler than when we started win or lose and as for myself I have been with Mike on several Team Indiana trips and the fellowship that I have taken part in with all the team Indiana kids and their parents over the years has been my gold medals that I never anticipated on earning but will always carry with me the rest of my life. I just like to say Thanks to all of you
  24. In Virginia Beach you don't have to wrestle the weight class you entered in you can bump up and wrestle the next weight class so you could have wrestled at 160 I'm sure there would have been some good competition in the freshman class there as well so I'm thinking that is what they meant when they said are you kidding ??? What you can't do in Virginia beach is wrestle in a weight class lower than one that you did in the current high school season(example if you wrestled 152 all year but made 145 once or twice you could wrestle 145 or any weight class above that but nothing below 145)
