  1. Gibson Southern is the defending champs in the PAC and did not have any seniors last year. They were my early favorite to win. Not everyone that was on that team last year appears to be wrestling this year. Southridge beat Gibson Southern in a close dual this year. Southridge has also beat North Posey in a close match and Tell City two times in close matches. Southridge has also lost to Heritage Hills and South Spencer in a close matches. South Spencer has lost to Tell City. I think Heritage Hills, Southridge, Gibson Southern, Tell City, and North Posey all have a good chance to win. I think there is enough balance at the top of the PAC that the winning team might be held to 160 to 170 team points.
  2. Anyone that is on the team bench can cost you points for unsportsmanlike conduct. How would you like to be in the hunt for a team conference, sectional, regional, semistate, or state championship and not win because a parent or someone else not actually on the team started to mouth off to the official.
  3. groundhog, as I already posted, the IHSAA by-law 60-9 allows a wrestler that is ineligible (to wrestle)to weigh-in with his team so that if he latter becomes eligible he would then have enough weigh-ins for the sectional. The by-laws are online if you want to see them for yourself.
  4. The seeding meeting is Wednesday night. I will let you know what I think after I see who is at each weight.
  5. He prolly made those 6 weigh-ins and the scratch weigh-in when he was out for all this time so all he has to do is have his hearing and see what happens. Good luck Trent, hope to see you wrestling in the sectional. hes actually allowed to do that? hmmm.... Ya prolly, for example, say you got hurt and you couldn't come back towards the end of the season, wouldn't you want to make your six weigh-ins and have your one scratch weight so you are ready to compete. This makes no sense...If you're ineligable then you're ineligable, that includes weighing in. Trent has no weigh-ins this season...He is allowed to be in the weigh in room and wrestling room because he's a volunteer coach during this time (and a damn good one too). CombatSpeed, his weigh-ins would be counted because the rules do specifically allow a ineligible wrestler to weigh-in for the purpose of getting enough weigh-ins in before the sectional in case he latter becomes eligible. The IHSAA by-laws do allow an ineligable wrestler to weigh-in. See by-law 60-9.
  6. His weigh-ins would be counted because the rules do specifically allow a ineligible wrestler to weigh-in for the purpose of getting enough weigh-ins in before the sectional in case he latter becomes eligible.
  7. Jasper always seems to get up for this match when it is at Jasper. This year I think Southridge should be able to win but I don't think they will win by that much. Southridge has never beat Jasper at the high school varsity level in Jasper's gym. Southridge has beat Jasper at the high school varsity level at Southridge several times but never at Jasper.
  8. Byer from North Knox looks good at this weight.
  9. The state of Indiana has not has a "weight certification" for several years. I can not answer your question because no wrestler is certified at any weight in the state of Indiana. From the IHSAA winter bulletin: 2. Elimination of December Certified Weight Report As per the NFHS Wrestling Rules Book, state associations that have hydration and body-fat testing along with a program to monitor average weight loss of 1 ? %, may use the minimum weight determined by the body-fat testing as the lowest weight a wrestler may wrestle during the state series instead of at least one-half of their weigh-ins. Therefore, the December Certified Weight Report previously required by the Association is hereby abolished.
  10. No snow at all in the Evansville area. May get rain in the morning and maybe snow latter in the day. 46 degrees right now.
  11. For the kids to wrestle at sectional they have to have 6 weigh-ins before the sectional seeding meeting. You can ask the IHSAA for a waiver of this rule.
  12. Anyone can post results here. I am sure the ranking guys look at the results on this website. It is important to get the individual match ups right if you do post them.
  13. What do you mean you know who is in the semistate?
  14. That is a very interesting statement. If Jeffersonville wins there sectional they will be in the same team regional with Castle and Mater Dei.
  15. How does anyone in Indiana know how "difficult" the Ohio tournament is? Maybe if a Mishawaka, PM or CP goes, they would walk right thru it too. There have been years that Mater Dei did not win that "difficult" tournament in Ohio but they did win the team state championship in Indiana. That is how we know how "difficult" that tournament is.
  16. My question does anyone notice that Ruggeri beat Sandwich from Memorial so there is a messes up on these rankings and on the website rankings ??? And do you have something against Mt.Vernon because they have some outsanding wrestlers and you have only two ranked and only one making it out? Can you provide a link to where the results of this match are posted? If they are not posted or if nobody emails the rankings guys then how would they know this information? If you knew and did not post the result you are part of the problem.
  17. Forest Park is solid in the lower weights from 112-135lbs.
  18. The rule is that each team or individual may wrestle in 18 duals. Or you can wrestle in up to 7 tournaments which count as two duals each and 4 duals. The 4 duals will get you 4 matches. If you go to 7 tournaments that are all two day tournaments where you wrestle the maximum allowed 5 matches per day you could get (7 x 10 = 70) 70 matches at tournaments. So your total matches before sectional could be 74 matches.
  19. When did I ever say that it hasn't ever happened? I just said that I think I've never seen it personally in my wrestling experience. Can you give me examples of when it's happened at State please? Besides, the original reason for my comment on this issue was that disqualifications don't come by often enough to keep kids from stalling, not that it never happens. This is from the IHSAA records of the individual state champions. In the 1973-1974 season no champion is listed at the 177lb class because both wrestlers in the championship match were disqualified for stalling. 1973-74 98 Randy May, Bloomington South 10 24-0 105 Mark Egbert, Whiteland - - 112 Stan Goodman, Greensburg - - 119 Dennis Lewis, Yorktown - - 126 Doug Hutsell, Bloomington South - - 132 Kim Graham, Logansport - - 138 Kent Swinehart, Crown Point - - 145 Ted Pinnick, Warsaw - - 155 Ken DeLong, Mooresville - - 167 Bud Palmer, Muncie Northside 12 27-0 177 No champion - - 185 Rob Goshert, Fort Wayne Snider - - Hwt. Ken Dike, Merrillville - -
  20. The IHSAA will not release the semi state draw until after the regional.
  21. Before the sectional starts you can wrestle in up to 7 tournaments and 4 dual meets. If your team wrestled in 7 tournaments that are all two day dual tournaments you could wrestle 10 times in each tournament (there is a limit of 5 matches per day). That would give you 70 matches at tournaments and then the 4 dual meets would give you a total of 74 matches.
  22. Does anyone know what the score was at the 189 semi match between Cook and Price for North Posey?
