Why are some wrestlers ranked over other wrestlers?

Rank: Number of state titles: #1 9 state titles (remember #1 at 189 was out with an injury so this is a great percentage) #2 2 state titles #3 1 state title #4 2 state titles those are very good results........ -
My question is clearly medical: If a doctor says a wrestler is not healthy enough to wrestle, how then can that doctor clear the wrestler 2 hours later? I do not understand this. I am not taking shots at Willis, he wanted to wrestle but the doctor said "no". If a wrestler is medically unable to wrestle, then why are they allowed to finish the tournament very shortly after the injury. Seems like a liability issue to me on the doctors part and the part of the IHSAA.

I dont see the freestyle rules actually pushing action. Wrestlers stall and want to score last. Not score often, just last. This causes for very little risk taking while wrestlers are on their feet. The fact the officials were calling it and calling it often is what needs to continue to happen if we want action increased. The refs did a great job of calling stalling this year, and that is why I think we saw more calls than in years past.

i thought the Cathedral kids flipping off the camera on all the podium pictures last year was worse sportmanship because they were actual wrestlers and not people in the stands... I can see family and friends of Vlahos being upset about the situation, but not the rest of the crowd. Tyler is a good kid and it was obvious he didnt take the news not to continue wrestling very well. They both get to wrestle next week and hopefully they will both be ready mentally and physically to help their team make a run at a title.

lower weights will have some as well: Carroll - Yorktown (8th grader this year but will do work next year in hs) 103 Bevans - Yorktown (returning state qualifier) 112 Gonzales - Delta (will be his senior year, 1x placer and 2x qualifier) 119 Bradley - Muncie Southside (returning state qualifier) not sure where these guys will end up, but Bradley is the biggest and I doubt if he goes any higher than 130

This is a shame. The South Adams staff are top notch coaces with a level of integrity. If the headbutt was flagrant they would be the first ones to tell their wrestler to get off the mat and go home.

Yes, it is. I understand you may have been upset at the time, but Bennett is a good wrestle and proved it under the lights.

So Bennett will get destroyed, yet Welch would give Corpe a great match. By that logic, why didnt Welch destroy Bennett? Just seems odd that Bennett is getting targetted because of an officials call.

People are upset about the Bennett/Welch outcome for various reasons, one of which is because of the brother storyline. I would like to say that Berryman and Bennett are a great story as well. This is the last year of existence for Anderson Highland, and we will get to see those plaid singlets for the last time this year. Anderson Highland has had a great run in wrestling the last few years and it is good to see the school go out with two finalists.
