Center Grove has been hit with at least two fleeing the mats during the state tournament and several stall calls!

Center Grove has been such a boring team to watch! They do nothing and win close matches. Kudos to them for winning tough and close matches, but goodness just wrestle!

It’s like their coaches watched the “Stall Camp” Flowrestling special and took the “Why win by 2 when you can win by 1” mentality.

190 does it all the time for CG. It’s not fun to watch so many stops no action the last 2 years every match I saw him wrestle everyone is screaming in stands. Rewatch the Purdy match last year and Gunner Henry this year it is ridiculous.

CP has definitely recruited a fine team from far and wide, but at the expense of all the hometowns where those kids came from.

CP is good but definitely not close to the best team ever in Indiana. I don’t care if they break points record they are not as good as the old Mater Dei teams not even close. I saw 2 elite wrestlers from them the rest could have been beat. And their best wrestler is from somewhere else

  3. Something needs to be done about wrestlers who wrestle on the edge of the mat. Last 2 years Center Grove  190 against Purdy last year Henry this year and anybody good last year and this year wrestles so you can’t get points against him it is the worst thing to watch. Goes out of bounds probably 10-15 times anytime close to score and stalling is never called until crowd goes crazy for minutes. And officials are so different on calling stalling it needs to be fixed.

You are right but I saw a lot of other warren central guys this season do it with respect.

We can keep making excuses for his actions I doubt his college will allow that

At the Mauer Coughlin duals when he got beat wouldn’t shake hands with anyone and threw a fit.

Earlier this year there was a topic about whether the SIAC is on a down swing or not.

If 7 State Qualifiers from the Castle Regional is not proof that it is, then I don't know what else to say. And that is not 7 from the SIAC either. I believe the MD 4 is it for the SIAC.

There was one year (I can't recall the year but I posted the numbers that year) when the SIAC alone had 24 or 25 State Qualifiers.

Obviously MD lead the way with like 11 or 12 that year. While Reitz, Castle, Memorial and Central all had multiple qualifiers. And Harrison & North had one or possibly 2 as well.

And it’s not going to get better besides Mater Dei. Castle is going downhill more and more every year North is getting better but they can’t compete when it gets to semi state. Central is off the mAp Harrison and Reitz aren’t getting any better. Bosse is never good Jasper and Vincennes can’t compete when it gets to semi state either. And memorial is not near as good either

Forzley was not the returning regional champ. The year before he lost to McDaniel from Tecumseh at regional. He placed 3rd at regional as a junior and 4th at semistate. The next year was his senior year when he was pinned by Jake Burden from South Spencer in the first round of regional.

He got first as a sophomore

I really dont see the decline in the SIAC. Rather the lack of eyes on the other teams come up. Ev. Norths Line up has 4 or 5 studs in it who have been studs and are young but the state or rankers refuse to give them a look. Rather then decline you have a shared wealth throughout the conference.

Now the drop in some programs have made it hard to thinks it is still a tough conference, but how long can we really think that those programs will be down after the history and knowledge in their rooms.

And as for Jasper they will be returning 13 Starters next year with a couple being semi state qualifiers.

I’m sorry but it is way down your right North has some studs but they won’t make it out of semi state Central won’t have a wrestler at semi state Memorial has chance for 1 for state. MD is down for Mater Dei my son Wrestles for Castle we won’t have anyone at State and we are way down. Reitz is mediocre  no state wrestlers and we beat them in a dual so they are down. Jasper and Vincennes probably won’t even be in the SIAC much longer from what I’ve heard. Harrison has been down for a while.

Maybe. But Valenciano has won 2 of the 3 times they have wrestled. They split matches last year and With Valenciano winning in overtime and Goines winning with a 2nd period pin. This year Valenciano won with a 3rd period pin. If Valenciano did not get the pin he would have been leading the match 8-2.

I didn’t realize that I just have seen some of the results and Goins seems to beat quite a few people was just going by some results I’ve seen.
