  1. I have to agree with you on Kyle Cornwell, I saw him wrestle at GRR & IHPO , he has been putting in the work this summer. Mason Parris is looking pretty big right now, but he has a younger cousin (Ethan Parris ) who is a freshman this year and he's right around 240. Great kid, just got back into wrestling last year & did pretty good. But obviously Mason will decide where his younger cousin will go.

  3. I agree with you completely, and also thank you for your time & effort you give to these kids. On this whole topic of Jr high kids wrestling in high school I believe it is fine , if a younger kid is good enough to complete at that level, why would we won't to restrict that? Do we not continually seek the best competition we can, to try and make our wrestlers better? Some restrictions that we put in place will only restrict our progress in the long run. My son Bryer wrestled for you at the heartland duals in Iowa earlier this year. He's a freshman this season & has been working his tail off . He wrestled IHPO this weekend at 129 & faced the #2 seed in the 2nd round ( Hassan Johnson ) last years IHPO Champion. I honestly didn’t think he had a chance, but he surprised me again with his throw caution to the wind and go for broke style of wrestling that seems to wear people down & pulled out a big upset. Bryer did not place but he did win some big matches against some really good competition in a 64 man bracket. Again thank you for your time and the compliments you gave my son before, it means alot to these young men.
  4. Not surprised, Mendez is a killer. It seems like the better his opponent is the worst he makes them look. Pretty good kid also , congrats to him .
  5. There was also 2 Indiana boys that brought home titles in the middle school individual tournament . Zeke Seltzer 110 Bryer Hall 130 If there was others that I missed , please add them .
  6. I saw a lot of the middle school monsters that will be wrestling, some big future names that most already know , like Blake Boarman, Zeke Seltzer, Jesse Mendez, Ty Lehman, Ben Dalton, Bryer Hall, kysen Montgomery, Hayden Watson, Scott Fitts, Alex Cottey, and I've seen a couple of these 8th graders handle some fresh & soph state placers. The quality is definitely there, I love the fact that you must qualify (participate in 2 tournaments before state) to wrestle at state, makes the kids get more experience, maybe if you don't place top 4 in one of the two tournaments then you must wrestle in a third tournament. Idk, maybe I'm asking for to much but I really don't think we get enough freestyle wrestling in, or greco, just my thought on this , good luck to everyone tomorrow .
  7. Great write up Coach Brewer, appreciate the great job you did coaching these boys & building them up, my son still has a smile on his face from reading the compliments you gave him in this article.
  8. Right , appreciate the work & enjoy following , would like to see if I have the same pics & similar opinions on these kids if I'm following the same guidelines , tournaments, duals , as you .
  9. Believe Jesse is going to follow his coach Alex Tsirtsis, and so are a few others .
  10. This is great , keep it going , will you use ISWA Freestyle & greco state results also ? What about AAU National Duals in Des Moines Iowa from April 1st weekend? You use any results from that ?
  11. Congratulations to all these young men, my son wrestled on middle school gold & I would like to say thank you to the ISWA & the coaches, they done a fantastic job. The talent on this team is amazing, some very exciting wrestlers on this team to watch.
