  1. They tried to counter my argument by saying I'm a dumb*** and that Indiana has no depth. They don't realize we also have people that place high at Fargo and national tournaments yet don't place at our state? Such as Andrew Davison, Jacob Gray, Ect

  2. You guys might have misunderstood me. I never said "when will they be scared or fearful of us?" I just meant, when will they see that our top guys would still dominate in Illinois? Such as B. Lee, Nick and Joe Lee, Chad, Streck? Maybe more. If it wasn't senior only vs senior, we would beat them no doubt with this years state lineup. Just my opinion, insight?

  3. Why does it matter if you guys think the tournament would be watered down? You aren't wrestling, the kids are! If it increases their chance of wrestling in college, let's do it. You're trying to limit a kids chance of wrestling in college because of your stubborn old fashion preference. You'd rather watch a one class system than let kids get the chance to better themselves and their life in college. That's extremely selfish of you. The three class system is a need, data points to it regardless of your opinion

  4. Not sure you read my post... if wrestler A drops to a knee and wrestler B is well trained he will also drop to a knee making scoring nearly impossible... If wrestler A drops to a knee and wrestler B stands there like a throwing dummy he will be taken down. Maybe just call a stalemate when both wrestlers are on their knees not touching one another. You cannot blast double someone who is on their knees and has learned any hint of head and hands defense.

so wrestler A who blast doubled another wrestler ( b ) 3 times in a match, with B being on his knees in a defensive stance, and A on his knees as well, was a fluke? B was a regional champ. So yes, it does work against good opponents. This is a true story I saw at semi-state
  5. Not sure you know "my" style of wrestling but as a coach I see kids wrestling on their knees every single weekend.  As a decent coach I teach wrestlers to stay lower than their opponents so when a kid on an opposing team drops to a knee our kids drop to a knee taking away absolutely all offensive possibilities from an open tie.  If someone drops to a knee and their opponent is still standing they deserve to give up their legs and get taken down.

I know many kids who utulize blast doubles from knees.
  6. B Wrestling on a knee/both knees from open tie... Indiana's newest wrestling fad as soon as you drop to a knee you should be instantly hit with stalling.

so because someone has a different wrestling style/stance than you, they should be penalized? Yes we should base all rules of your style, correct? It's a smart tactic to get a better angle at legs. Dont penalize kids for wrestling smart
  7. Graduated in '97 from Southside, haven't been back to The Mean Streets in a few years myself . Yes I agree, there some rough areas there.

Love seeing Delta, Yorktown Kids doing great in Delaware County. Hope to see Muncie Central Wrestling do some things in the future.

the Muncie central program keeps getting more solid every year. Next year should be their best year in quite a while and are sectional contenders for next year
  8. Graduated from Yorktown in '96 and have only been back to Muncie once in the last 12 years.  There is no earthly reason to ever travel south of 32/Kilgore or east of Walnut.

Living in Carmel for the last decade might have softened me...

bet that feels nice to the kids living on the Soutside of Muncie who can't control where they live
  9. Just see a lot of Delaware County kids, nothing wrong with that cause I'm from The Mean Streets of Muncie at the Pal Club. I hope Delaware County has a great showing . My sons use to train along side the those Delta boys and Former Muncie Southside wrestlers. Good Stuff !

I might have wrestled with your sons then:)
  10. Isn't Sage the last true state caliber remanent of the Muncie Southside high school program? For that reason along I hope he overcomes his injury and has a great showing at state. The Rebels deserve more good ride for old time sake, even if it's under the banner of a different school.

not quite. You have Cooper at Muncie central who came from Soutside. He was a semi-state qualifier. Also, Reyes from Central was a ticket-rounder this year. Both of these kids still have senior years so Muncie South might have 2 more state-caliber kids.
  11. Although Coy is currently injured (it's no secret, we all see by how he's wrestling) this will be an amazing match. Coy has an uncanny ability to defend shots and put people to their back in a swift manner. However B. Lees a very dominant wrestler who will not be easily beat
