  1. Eli Stock from Monrovia took 3rd at regionals with a loss to Vanhorn of Franklin Community. Then avenged that loss the next weekend and won semi-state then followed that up by winning state the next weekend.
  2. like this https://twitter.com/vbethel80/status/949488325202710528?s=20&t=TzvvPo796PIiL7YTP5UP9A
  3. 106-May, Ocampo, Johns, Bollinger 126-Sprague, Wood, Cook, Hord 132-Stroud, Uhlman, Bartsch, Reiley 138- Litchfield, Gerenscer, Clark, Tuttle 145-Arthur, Abbott, Miller, Baber 152-Currie, Betz, Porter, Lounsbury 160-Myers, Farnell, Lone, Jones 170-Porter, Shepherd,Johnson, Russell 182-Veazy, Wenk, Page, East 195-Deming, Ingenito,Behm, Eberhard 220-Heyerly, Beck, Benjamin, Waters 285-Villafuerte, Orr, Fishback, Clifford Unfortunately I get to do more weight classes than others...
  4. You very well may be correct but the way I understand it is if there is an allowance you would qualify for two weights below if you are under that and wouldn’t be able to bump up more than one weight. For example 138 lber must weigh in over 130 now to be eligible instead of over 128.
  5. The flip side of that is I have multiple kids that are so far under weight that having the extra 2lbs means they actually have to gain weight to be able to wrestle their weight class.
  6. As someone who has also done this cut in high school and college I agree with you. I will say this, we have 2 kids on our team who are actually cutting weight and they are doing it the right way and no more than 6lbs a week and never miss a meal or go without high amounts of water. I’ve found that it is harder to get qualifying weigh ins for the kids who are not cutting weight than the ones who are. The ones who are cutting are always going to be close to weight the ones who are not cutting their weight tends to fluctuate a lot more. Our 106 is about 5’8 and is skin and bones but his weight could be anything from 102 to 108 on any given day and most my team is like that. I agree that cutting weight is the terrible ugly part of our sport but the rules in place don’t exactly work that well in practice. Just my two cents.
  7. Man ft. Wayne semi state at 106 is tough… not a ton of highly state ranked kid but it seems like each regional has a lot of depth of tough semi-state level kids
  8. I could be reading incorrectly but all of the wording in the rule book says that locking on the leg should be called stalemate unless it is a repeated action. So while you’re right it is a judgment call, the rule book specifically outlines multiple instances that should be considered a stalemate and should be considered stalling. This is under section 23 in the rule book.
  9. From delta sectional Bollinger#4fwss over Cline #9 fwss at 106 8-6 in semi finals 126 unranked Brooks from Daleville over Boone Yorktown 2-1 in semis then Jett cowan over brooks 3-2 in finals. stebbins over Boone for 3rd 113- fwss #7 Stuffel Yorktown over b. Keith #6 FWSS by fall Keith was winning by 2 or 3 before the fall awesome match delta-208 team score yorktown 204 in a team race that came down to the HWTs great day of wrestling to all.
  10. That’s rough… should be an easy stalemate…Had a kid get hit for second stall call today in third period with 10 seconds left of a semi final match us up 1-0 bottom flat on belly head down and us out to the side. Gives kid restart and kid gets away so we lose 2-1. Ref told our kid after the match he only hit us because we looked at the clock on top as if that’s a rule…
  11. I’m very excited as well. You should get plenty of good action on Saturday too!
  12. 126 @ Delta has #5 in FWSS Justin Boone (Yorktown) #6 in FWSS Jayden Jett(cowan) #7 in FWSS Kaeb Stebbins(delta) and add in a tough semi-state qualifier in Dawson Brooks from Daleville who beat Jett and Boone last year. All these kids are young tough wrestlers which could make this weight really interesting.
  13. I believe it’s 8am tomorrow
  14. I completely agree. I didn’t say that with the intent that I believe there was any wrongdoing whatsoever on the part of any of the coaching staff. I know that coaching staff as most of us in the area do and I know they would not do something like that to gain a competitive advantage. I have also talked with that coaching staff which they were kind enough to call and offer an explanation which I wasn’t really owed at all. I actually deleted my original post but it still shows because it was quoted. I deleted it because I felt it painted a bad light on an amazing coaching staff that I look up to and respect. I apologize to them if it came across as me implying there was wrongdoing because that was not my intent. Ultimately I don’t think it would have mattered anyways because of the head to head criteria. I am very excited to watch this weight and all the weights this weekend and I wish you all the best of luck.
  15. this is ultimately how it ended up being seeded. wild though a kid who's been in semi-state rankings all year long takes one bad loss after losing in triple OT to the kid who's the 1 seed and ends up as the 5 seed. Obviously the criteria was followed and this was seeded correctly just a little crazy to think about. We have to wrestle these kids regardless but this weight was a wild one and should be very fun to watch as everyone in this weight is a solid wrestler and is going to go out and compete.
  16. we were told before the seeding meeting that we had to remove forfeits when entering them on track. We then added the forfeits back in after the seeding was complete.
  17. That would be correct. Should be interesting to watch!
  18. So I’ll throw another wrench in. wrestler 6 is also included and has the lowest win percentage but has a win and a loss to wrestler 5 with wrestler 5 having the latest win but wrestler 3 has a win over wrestler 6. Does that change the record against common opponents criteria?
  19. Wrestler 1-(19-2) wins over 2,3,5 no losses to anyone in field pretty clear number 1 (freshman) Wrestler 2-(15-5) record .75 win percentage has wins over wrestler 4,5 regional qualifier. Wrestler 3-(19-7 Record) .73 Has win over wrestler 2 loss to wrestler 5 semi-state qualifier Wrestler 4- (7-3 record) .70 win percentage. Has win over wrestler wrestler 5 and loss to Wrestler 2 semi-state qualifier Wrestler 5- (10-5 record) .667 win percentage. Has 2 losses to wrestler 4, one loss to wrestler 2 and a win over wrestler 3. (Freshman)
  20. Our sectional alone could get wild. You add Keith from cowan, the kid from Winchester who I believe just beat Keith and Reno from Wes del. Then we go to regionals and add in johns, Moore and smedley and some pretty solid kids are not going to make it out.
  21. Ayden Bollinger Delta over Joey Cline Yorktown 6-2 in finals at HHC Todd is a stud and agreed he looks huge at 132
