Next up Rianna Murphy
She lost first round and her opponent lost the next round so she didn't get pulled back in.

Greg Kerkvliet and Wyatt Hendrickson are jumping for joy. As much as I love Gable, I would much rather see an open heavyweight field. Kerkvliet and Hendrickson would be an awesome finals match.

What did they do to get punished?
PA came down hard on them transferring to McCort. A lot of high level guys transferred in at the same time and the school got hit with a recruiting ban.

How is Chris Coates wrestling for Indiana? Did he move in?

50/50’s = May not be enrolling in HS this year for various reasons . Who knows ?
That’s unfortunate. I know I don’t know anything about them, but that’s been happening more often with these good middle schoolers lately.

Where would Huddleston and Bell end up if not in the county?

There’s a difference between championships, other matches, and getting matches in June. Now should be the time to work on in live match situations what the focus has been in practice. If you’ve been working bottom for weeks cause your kids struggle on bottom, then you should be picking down every time and putting it into practice.

It was nice he let Mason win a title first. I was really pulling for Wyatt Hendrickson to win this next year, here's hoping he can at least make the finals.

This lineup is assuming all true freshman will RS.
125- Moran vs Ramos133- Porter vs Norris
141- Rooks vs White? Macatangay?
149- Rooks vs Polanco
157- Gilcher vs Kade Law?
165- South vs Buell or Noehre
174- DJ vs Baumann (heater )
184- Rogotzke vs Rowley
197- Willham or Sollars vs Vanadia
285- Bullock vs Copass
*Could possibly see Norris at 141? That would allow Greyson Clark to probably step in right away. What you think? @Thor
That's almost exactly what I would have. I think they end up redshirting everyone, no matter if they are good enough to start. I think White goes at 141, maybe they have a revolving door there for a while. I think 157 would be Nate Camiscioli. Either way I think Purdue drops both those matches. I think with these lineups IU edges out Purdue 6-4 in matches, with Ramos being the only guy I would peg for bonus. The match would come down to 174, 197, and 285.

Looks like Joey Millano is no longer coming to Purdue. Purdue deleted the commitment article for him and Ersland didn't mention him when talking about transfers in an interview with Intermat today. So now we're looking at probably 174-197 as Baumann/Null-Rowley-Vanadia.

Man, I didn't realize Millano was that big. Hoping they can get Blaze # 2 in the near future as well!
Millano has been bulking and back in March said he weighed 195. And I'm hearing good things about Marcus Blaze to Purdue potentially!

Polanco should fit nicely into 149 I assume right? Baumann and Rowley at 174/184 with Vanadia going back up to 197?
My guess is Polanco at 149, Baumann at 174, Rowley 184, and Millano 197. You also have Jake Null in there at 174 who transferred in last year. It would be nice if Baumann could make 165. But I could see Vanandia taking the spot at 197. I thought 184 was too light for him, I thought he wrestled some 220 his senior year.

Purdue's had some good additions from the portal the past few weeks. They picked up 149 Marco Polancos from Minnesota and James Rowley from Wisconsin. Polancos has been a starter and NCAA qualifier and comes into one of Purdue's weakest spots in the lineup. James Rowley was taking his redshirt as a freshman this past season at Wisconsin. He was a blue chip recruit coming out of high school and almost initially committed to Purdue. He has silver and bronze age level world medals and is a great addition to the back half of the lineup.

Ridiculous situation, but sweet takedown by the ref.

Penn State doesn’t “Bid”. The coaching staff doesn’t get involved in NIL. They talk to recruits and potential transfers about wrestling, that’s all.
That's what boosters are for. But I do agree, Penn State has been getting high end transfers because of their wrestling cachet. The dynasty isn't going anywhere anytime soon.

I was really looking forward to seeing Mason Parris dominate the heavyweight field, but I freaking love watching Gable wrestle. Really excited to see him back on the mat.

Purdue picked up Joey Millano from NC State today. Has three years of eligibility left and will wrestle 184. He had a great record his redshirt season two years ago, and then went like 5-4 last year in limited matches. Looks like they tried to fit him into 174 when he's clearly a 184, so hopefully he performs better at a more natural weight. Interesting enough, is this is now back to back years we have taken a highly rated recruit from NC State from their 2021 class. Last year we took Jake Null, who only wrestled in the IU dual while dealing with an injury. NC State had the 4th ranked recruiting class by Flo in 2021, headlined by Stevo Poulin, Null, and Millano. Poulin has also transferred to Northern Colorado, so an awful 2021 class in terms of staying for them, and hopefully giving Purdue a much needed boost in the back half of their lineup. I would assume Ben Vanandia then goes back up to 197 and wrestles off with Filipovich. I thought 197 was a better weight for him too.

Kendall Coleman officially announced he's done on Instagram today. Heck of a career, too bad Covid and injury robbed him of his two best shots to hit the podium.

Done, but I don't see how Yianni doesn't win. Not very often that someone wins their 4th NCAA title.
Most people with votes I've seen voted for Mason Parris. The Hodge criteria isn't who you think the best wrestler is overall, but who was most dominant during the year. Past accolades are far down the list of tiebreakers, and they may have axed that part of the criteria this year. His loss to Gomez really hurts. Mason also has the argument of being 33-0 with a great bonus percentage in a tough weight where he had like ten matches against All Americans this year.

Also reading up on some of Willie's and Flo's articles for next year, looks like Kendall Coleman has a shot to be back? Willie has him in his crystal ball rankings and Flo has him with one year of eligibility left. But the Purdue account's congratulated him on a great career, so he's probably moving on.
