PH regional needs strength? Really, not sure what your point is but you may want to check your school sizes again. Sounds like you are for class wrestling. No problem here. Got to see Big O hand out medals for 3A and 2 schools win there first state championships in basketball. The sport that was ruined, course didn't hear or see anything but excitement and celebration!

The decision of the athlete and family includes the ramifications of the decision made. This is an unfair advantage and there is likely more to why the state association has this rule. What happens when a male says their gender identity is female, should they compete n the women's tournament? Look at the trackwrestling info, interesting, not seeing a strong desire to compete against males. Regardless, looks like Texas has women's and class wrestling, Indiana is slacking, ought ohh... :-)

Dru would have been much better off, as far as wrestling, had he stayed at Yorktown. Better coaching and more talent in wrestling room would have greatly benefited him in honing his talent...steel sharpens steel after all.
That said, being happy in your environment is more important than wrestling, in my opinion. He must not have been as happy at Yorktown as Frankton.
opinions, everyone has them, especially on coaching. No reason to disparage a coaching staff or program! Frankton had a good day overall sending 2 to state. Dru seemed off today, was up 2-1 at the time and am sure he will be back, sharper than ever.
Thanks to all the wrestlers today for a great, exciting day of wrestling!

Elwood 145 finals seems to qualify: Jarron Grubb (Tri-Central) over Clayton Cowan (Hamilton Heights)
-
Have to say the officiating at Elwood was outstanding. Had to be one of the best crews in the state. Well, except for 2 older guys with glasses that may need a trip to the eye doctor. :-). I kid, I kid! There weren't names in the program but recognized several and a few were new faces to me. Thank you gentlemen!

#TheRealWorld isn't putting in consideration that "THE A" The University of Avon #FearTheOriole Has a bunch of former Big Ten All-American Wrestlers as Coaches . Take your pick ?
#TheA ®™©
Why so Serious ? LMAO
I see now my iPad smiley didn't take. It was meant to be in good fun :-). Not meant to be a ding at all on the Avon coaches or program. The record speaks for itself. But, I would still take Kerry McCoy, you know he was an ok wrestler. LOL
-
#TheCountyTMZ is not confirming this, but can confirm that Avon HS could probably beat the breaks off of (0-6) (2-11) Maryland Terps right now .
#TheRealWorld can confirm the Terps win especially with a coaches match tiebreaker. #FearTheTurtle #EvenIUwouldWin

Good wrestlers for sure but Kerkhoff may not even been the best from Delta considering John Ginther and David Palmer. Palmer would get my vote in a tight one.Eric Kerkhoff (2x state champ) or Devon Jackson (2x runner-up, 1x state champ)

Yes. It's interesting how things can sometimes change when an attorney is engaged. And to be clear, I am not referring to nor do I have any specific knowledge of this specific case.

. Seems like 4-3 is a popular score. That's what I was told the Bane vs Berkebile score was, got there too late to watch.Awesome we will add those results
-
Thanks to those involved with streaming this great dual! Wow, really enjoyed watching both teams getting after it in that environment, well done!

A front head isn't always "defensive" it can be worked offensively especially from the feet. Shooting isn't always offensive either especially with a good head snap.

Worst things happening in Indiana wrestling right now are
A) Refs scared to call early stalling calls... The typical IN ref only calls stalling in the 3rd period usually in the last few seconds of the match when it absolutely does not matter. Stalling is called much different in other states.
B Wrestling on a knee/both knees from open tie... Indiana's newest wrestling fad as soon as you drop to a knee you should be instantly hit with stalling.
So Anthony Robles and other wrestlers with one leg who always go to a knee should be hit with stalling?
The lack of action seems to be a better approach to call it then automatically when dropping to a knee.

Thanks for putting words in my mouth. Apparently, I said to play football, play video games, or do nothing and show up to the first practice of the season out of shape.
Go do some research on long distance running and wrestling. Will it help lose some weight? Sure. Does it help you become a better wrestler. Absolutely not.
Next time I'll check with you before posting. I didn't realize everyone was so sensitive.
Most CC programs include other workouts besides just running long distances. Sprints, intervals and even some weight training. Not to mention some of the mental toughness that can transfer. To say it absolutely does not help isn't accurate.
-
Question is why are the people leaving? Lack of action or just cause it's getting late? Maybe if stalling was called more like the lighter weight classes, it would help? Never understood why all of a sudden stalling in the last 15-20 seconds is called and sometimes twice, yet that is how the match had been going for the previous 5:45. I am personally looking forward to the big boys this year! Hasn't always been the case though.

Good ones and will add 106: Waldenzak vs Garcia. Could have an impact on team score as well. 145: A. Laughlin vs Motley
Bailey was fortunate to get by Holmes in the semis at NC. Worm looked good, lost close one in semis too.

In case you haven't seen the Askren side, hilarious! Not sure if link below will work. If not Google Ben Askren Hello:

Maybe the cow catcher.
One my coach said I had mastered my sophomore year, countin da lights. :-)
-
Yeah, agree. FFT 133, Cash debut against tough opponent (to say the least) and Fletcher bump. Interesting for sure.
-
Have weapons been determined yet for the duel? :-)
I know, just couldn't resist. Should be an interesting match!

I don't think it's more fair. My answer would be the same if the tables were turned and large schools had lots of forfeits that we could fix but it would make the small school forfeits go up. I see no reason to overhaul an entire system to help one group which would in turn hurt another group. I'm much more in favor of solutions that can help wrestling as a whole. Nothing I've seen in the data presented suggests helping the system as a whole to me.
Then you don't want to see it. Hurts large schools, yeah, logically sound. I mean keep it the way it is, it's doing so well. The system is failing and needs change.
-
You can bump up to 113, 120, 126, and 132 all of which have more forfeits than 195.
True. But if the 106 numbers are low, they aren't going to be many to bump to 113. Same for 113 to 120. 126 up have fewer fft's then 182-285 for 2015 unless I am reading it wrong.
-
Interesting and seems to indicate lower participation. Always wonder why most don't mention the upper weight forfeits as much. I mean you can't bump up to 106. Many of the upper weights are filled by moving up and I am all for more opportunities to wrestle. I just think it's a factor to take into consideration.

I read in the heraldbulletin that Gary Black resigned from Shennandoah with John Barbosa taking over. Also said that AJ Black was no longer with the team. Hopefully this isn't the case.
