There was a time I probably would have agreed with you. But these are kids that have spent thousands of hours keeping themselves in check and totally focused. If they happen to reach the pinnacle of Indiana HS wrestling, I say let them act like fools in front of 10,000 wrestling fans. They've earned it. And it gives us something to talk about!

What other coach has over 600 dual meet wins?

Bill Yozipovich from Greenfield-Central had over 200 wins in the early 90's. He coached until the late 90's, so I know he is up there. -
Three injuries and two SAT's. 132, 138, 145, HWT, 182 I think.

Looks like Jasper is missing half their team today. Don't think they'll be in the mix this year.

Also looks like a lot of the 1 seeds with lesser records than 2 seeds are returning champions or runners up from last year.

Strength of schedule probably played a part in seeding. Castle and Jasper have wrestled each other, Mater Dei, and Bloomington South so far this year. I would assume any losses in those matches would be "quality" losses and not count against a wrestler as much.

Just looking at this past weekend... 1. Egli was ridiculous at 106! 2. Johnson beat both Shermer and Brown at 120 3. Schitter gave Broukal all he could handle at 132 4. Mater Dei is good

A humble fan's opinion... 106-Schemer, McCoy, Hurst, Robertson Schemer/McCoy rematch in finals 113-Koerner/Brock, Pemberton, Koerner/Brock, Newton Semi-final b/t Koerner and Brock should take this class. 120-Schitter, Runyon, Graber, Arthur Schitter is my upset pick 126-Elia, Chevez, Orndorff, Glenn 132-Broukal, Auberry, Bird, Deckard 138-Kersteins, Adams, Hurst, Barlow 145-Osha, Brescher, Newforth, Newton Another Osha/Brescher battle... could go either way 152-Helms, Mundy, Williams, Stenftenagel 160-Seitzinger, Kreilein, Koontz, Sullivan 170- Schaffer, Galvin, Cissell, Deerwester 182-Thacker, Chambers, Songer, Fischer Both finals rematches for 1st and 3rd 195-Fiddler, Valenciano, Hall, Miller After Fiddler, who knows who winds up 2-4! 220-Haley, Andry, Hoffman, Joyner HWT-Sampson, Schwoeppe, Dajani, Davis With only 12 ranked wrestlers in this regional, anything can happen here. Should be fun to watch!

Newton had the first takedown, but then Koerner took over and dominated the match pinning him in the second.

At 182, I think Fischer was up big on Songer and got pinned. Could make that finals match interesting and it may not turn out the way everyone thinks. :-\

I think Ferrell won 4-3 over Corsaro, but I would bet it wouldn't be that close a second time. The kid just doesn't get in a bad position.
