  2. Let's make it 15! Kelton Farmer has 3 losses to Nathan Critchfield: Dual 4-1 SIAC Fall Regional 1-0
  3. Aiden Farmer has 4 losses to Brody Baumann. Dual 14-4 SIAC 18-8 Regional Fall SS TF 22-7
  4. Anyone have a reasonable stab at how long there may be between sessions Friday? Trying to figure out how to mix in a little work. Will half the weights take 3 hrs? More? Less?
  5. Or you could PM me your pick and I'll promise to keep it quiet until Saturday? No doublecross, just a simple solution, without putting pressure on your guy. That part, I do respect and understand.
  6. Good luck to your guy Anything can happen, but I think he'll need it. Brody is aggressive and finishes about as clean as anyone I have seen in HS. To beat him, someone will have to roll around with him and hope to come out on top.
  7. Sure we will... if Brody loses. He'll say "see I told you so, that was my pick!" It's the easy way to take the field, have 15 wrestlers in your pocket and look smart if it happens. Yet, he has someone in mind, he's just playing it safe or doesn't want to put pressure on a kid. Obviously, after last weekend we should be reminded that anything can happen. But, injury aside, I don't see him losing.
  8. I'm not sure what a "hater" post means, but I personally think that word is WAY overused. There was no hate in his post at all. The guy is simply rooting for his team and has a very biased way of looking at things. Lots of fans do. The crime here is how much time and attention people are giving him.
  9. Looks to me, if Buchanan doesn't choose bottom, he's pretty much in control. No video available on TW/Flo, but this at least answers some of the questions.
  10. 106 top half has #1, #2 and #3 - Hockaday, Bailey and Smith. Hockaday vs. Bailey and Jendreas vs. Schaefer in the Saturday morning round.
  11. Nathan Critchfield and Christian Carroll on the same side at 220 - sucks For the 2nd year in a row the winner at Evansville SS between Cheaney Schoeff - Brady Ison gets the reward of landing on the same side of the bracket as Zeke Seltzer. Schoeff finished 2nd at State last year after losing to Ison at SS. This year the result was reversed. Ison, finishing 2nd avoids Seltzer, but draws Elijah Anthony in Round 1 on Friday night. Unlucky draw for both.
  12. Thanks for that update. I saw his picture in the Evansville Courier (online photo gallery from yesterday) this morning and was hoping it wasn't because he missed weight. Best of luck on his recovery.
  13. I'll add, I was impressed with the group of wrestlers from Cascade. They may not have won as many matches as they wanted, but I thought they competed and looked good. Logan Bickell fought tough against Jackson Heaston. Michael Hutchinson and Liam Farmer won their first round match and battled tough in ticket round losses. Dominic McNeeley's day may not have finished like he wanted, but he's a State Qualifier and ran into the buzzsaw that was Jared Dunn in the semis. I see bright days ahead.
  14. Didn't see Clark's matches, but Dunn hit headlocks in 3 straight matches. The first two for pins and the win, the 3rd ONLY got him 3 backs and the lead.
  15. A few more from Evansville, especially if you like drama, tight matches and comebacks. 106 - Isaiah Schaefer - Luke Rioux - semis 120 - Jared Dunn - Seth Cowden - ticket round 120 - Jared Dunn - Dominic McNeeley - semis (see a pattern here?) 120 - Lane Gilbert - Noah Lykins - semis 145- Anfernee Oliver - Alex Smith - 1st Round 160 - Chris Newman - Michael Hutchinson - ticket round 170 - Any Brody Baumann match - his finishes are so clean and he wrestles to score all the time! 182 - Any Reid Schroeder match. He's not afraid to get after it and roll around in scrambles. He won 3 matches by fall and lost 18-10 to Drake Buchanan. 220 - Royce Deckard III - Brody Ford - 1st round A few in addition to those already mentioned. Nothing boring in this list, promise!
  16. I'll add to this and answer a question asked earlier in this thread.. I've seen Critchfield more than Carroll. Critchfield is positionally solid and seems comfortable in all positions. He's wrestled some "close" matches (5-0, for example) and always seems in control. He is good on top and his length helps on his feet. Have no idea how he could fare against Carroll on bottom. I think he'll hold his own and make Christian work. Will he win? Will he stay off his back? Not sure. But from what I've seen, he doesn't seem like the type that would get steamrolled. Of course, now that i say that, he'll probably stumble retreating a CC advance and end up on his back in :30. Either way, I hope to see it on Saturday night and not in the Semis. Btw, I wanted to watch the Carroll - Grange match, but there is no video for that match. Was there an issue with the stream at that time? Most of the other matches have video available. Disappointed
  17. Similar comments were made in the Last Minute Bracket Changes thread. You aren't the only one with this thought. When someone else mentioned it, I commented that might not be a good change for McBee. And like you said, no guarantee he wins, but I'd have liked his chances better in his original quarter bracket.
  18. One of my pet peeves has always been shortening the 1st Period of consolation matches in a big tournament. But it really makes no sense to me to do so when there are no wrestle backs and no consolation bracket. Why should 3rd/4th Place mean less? It's not like they have a whole extra round and have to save time.
  19. I think they used to call that a barnburner. Not sure what made burning barns exciting, but that was a helluva match.
  20. Holy Crap, Jared Dunn does it again!! He was down 11-0 to Seth Cowden, took neutral and hit the headlock for the fall! Jared Dunn of Princeton is a State Qualifier! 2 nasty headlocks to get him there.
  21. Here is an interesting one in case you missed it. @220 Brody Ford (HH) jumped out to a 10-0 lead on Royce Deckard III by the middle of the 2nd period. An escape and takedown by RD3 and an escape from Ford made it 11-3 after 2. Deckard chose neutral in the 3rd, got a takedown and took Ford to his back and got the Fall for the comeback win.
  22. Is it just me or does anyone else have visions of Guns n Roses every time they see Alex Rose (TH South - Evansville 182) name on the screen or in the brackets?
