  1. I remember him being very good. Perhaps there was a little recency bias with Goin. Aaron Scott was very good as well. He lost by TF to Alex Tsirtsis, but finished 3rd. Coughlin finished 2nd to Andrae Hernandez Macke lost 5-2 to Angel Escobedo
  2. Jendreas CP 3-0 Williams Tied 3-3 Cruz CP 6-3 (flipped a coin) Macke Tied 6-6 (One of the best ever not to win; blocked by some all-time greats) Coughlin MD 9-6 Mendez Tied 9-9 Lehman MD 12-9 Weinzapfel MD 15-9 (tough call - flipped another coin) Nosko MD 18-9 Wildeman MD 21-9 Maurer MD 24-9 Clark MD 24-12 (close to 50-50) Clark MD 24-15 (definitely not a given) Begley MD 24-18 Definitely see bonus from Maurer and Mendez, though Scott might keep it to a Major. Lots of swing matches, but looking at the lineup I see MD winning most of the time. I'm guessing I'll be in the minority here.
  3. You're freaking delirious.. Such worry and hatred for a tiny little school of 500 students. Quite sad.
  4. That was the premise of me saying they pretty much wrapped things up Friday afternoon. Got some flack for it, but it didn't take a rocket scientist to see they had a good sized margin for error. Congrats to CP. It was an impressive showing!
  5. I'd like to see those 2 go at it live in the practice room when they let it all go without worrying about winning a title.
  6. Are we sure he's not 30? That's a man's physique! I'm kinda secretly hoping he changes his mind and flips to Penn St. but I have no idea if that is even possible or was ever a consideration.
  7. Damn, I ended with 11 Champs.... but so many other bad pics I doubt I'll sniff the Top 10, maybe not even Top 20.
  8. Was Nick Lee and Chad Red the last time? I know they were a class apart, but both carried the national accolades as well. Brayton Lee & Mason Parris too? Add Zeke and Jesse are two more in a growing line of IN studs. Looking forward to seeing them at the next level.
  9. 4 Falls is a nice way to take a 2nd State Title. Only wrestler to do it this year!
  10. I'm not in the arena, but the only boos I remember hearing were aimed at referees. There were a "few" of those
  11. Brody Baumann from JV as a freshman to 2x State Champ! Almost finished it off with a fall but couldn't quite get it. 14-2 will have to do!
  12. I was just thinking, I don't think I've ever heard a guy announce to a crowd that he was stalling. You gotta do what you gotta do. No problem with that at all. It made me laugh.
  13. I was in your shoes for several years. Always bought tourneys on Track a la carte and said no to Flo. But with them combining, I took the plunge and never looked back. I'm a big of a geek and like to go back and watch old matches or find a time where 2 guys squared off a couple of years ago, for example and the annual sub opens all of those matches to you. Have a cold one for me and enjoy!
  14. I'm having issues with it. The mic is picking up crowd noise and it's drowning out Goebel and Maurer. Love the broadcast and the announcers, but seems like they could make an adjustment.
  15. Maybe... but wouldn't be a stretch to say the 2 missed full nelsons made it equal out.
  16. Has it bothered you for 19 years that they had such a good team in 2003? Seems a little obsessive to me.
  17. On Flo, via Track Wrestling, I've run mats on my laptop and mobile phone with no problems. Yesterday and today. How did that turn out? Are you able to watch now?
  18. I thought so too. At least 2, maybe 3. Questioned my eyes while watching it.
  19. For those that didn't catch this article back in December. Just thought I would highlight it again, sharing Nathan Critchfield's story. Nate wrestled for Mt. Carmel HS in IL (not Chicago Mt. Carmel) and was a 2 time State placer, finishing 3rd his junior year. A tumor was found in his spinal chord in August 2020. A couple of surgeries, an infection and a long recovery followed. His family moved to Evansville in his year off and he came to Mater Dei for his senior year. For him to reach the level he has is a pretty incredible accomplishment. And to be the only one to go the full match against Christian Carroll just highlights it. Congrats to Nathan!! Article: Critchfield Ready for One Last Go In Indiana
  20. Hate to come off like a broken record, as I mentioned this last week.... but I detest the idea that 3rd, 5th and 7th Place matches are so unimportant that they cut short the 1st period. it's not like this tournament has full wrestlebacks and time is at a major premium. Let the damned kids wrestle a full match as if it means something!
  21. Because it happened off and on all day on that mat. When it would start working it would stop again between matches, which is when they mute the mic. And every time I sent in a support ticket, it magically got turned back on not long after. And when it worked, it worked as it should, until the next time they muted it between matches. I'm comfortable with that assumption.
  22. It was because of the #s the advanced and the reasonable expectations of their wrestlers. Wins by both Clarks and Goodwin Friday, when all 3 were in positions to lose late, is what kept this from being close. They may still have won it without all 3 of those guys, but those matches sealed the deal.
  23. No, not thankful because someone constantly forgets to unmute their mic. Being thankful we get to watch at all = accepting mediocrity, or worse
