  1. Thanks for posting. Brought to mind many of the great matches I saw Blake wrestle. One of Indiana's all-time bests.
  2. Final: 17-1. Nick Lee totally in control in every possible way ...
  3. I think the 120 match was the match of the day. Both wrestlers are about as even as can be. The action was on the mat the entire match. In the 145 match there was so much blood time that the match never had any continuity. Joe bled a lot. I mean ... a lot!!!
  4. Evansville Mater Dei
  5. Mater Dei wins all 14 matches to defeat Reitz 70-0 ...
  6. Mater Dei will be in St. Louis this Saturday at the St. Louis Gateway Tournament.
  7. I agree with your comments 100%. I saw every match Lee wrestled this year, and he dominated everyone except Micic.
  8. MD wrestled without tights for the first time at the state duals in early January.
  9. Lee defeated Davis at the state duals 13-4.
  10. I've seen Micic several times, and I do think that if anyone in Indiana can beat Lee, it would be Micic. But with that being said, I actually don't think Micic will. I'm going with Lee. Could be the match of the year.
  11. I watched Blake Maurer wrestle his entire high school career, and without a doubt, he is the best Mater Dei has produced. But, at this point (being a freshman), Lee is far, far ahead of where Blake was as a freshman. In my 20-years of watching high school wrestling, I have seen some of Indiana's best, but no one has impressed me more than Lee. He has the potential, to be the best Mater Dei wrestler ever. It's early in his career, but if he stays healthy and avoids injury, he has the potential to be one of Indiana's best also. Lets not get the cart ahead of the horse. Lee just needs to wrestle one match at a time.
  12. I have gone twice. The place was packed both times. Good wrestling atmosphere.
  13. Mater Dei had 12 in the finals. Overall, they had 9 firsts, 3 seconds, and 2 thirds.
  14. Observation: Gibson Southern is a vastly improved team. Blake Maurer, Matt Coughlin, & Dane Maurer are doing a fantastic job.
  15. Mater Dei qualified 14 for regional with firsts at 106, 113, 120, 126, 138, 145, 170, 182, 285 Gibson Southern qualified 9, with firsts at 132, 220 Central qualified 8, with firsts at 152, 160 North qualified 7, with no firsts Tecumseh qualified 6, with no firsts Pike Central qualified 5, with one first at 195 Vincennes qualified 3, with no firsts Princeton qualified 2, with no firsts North Posey qualified 1, with no firsts Wood Memorial qualified 1, with no firsts
  16. MD wins 12 of 14 matches to defeat Reitz 58-9.
  17. And I will be one of those in attendance Thursday evening, with a grilled hamburger, popcorn, and a Pepsi ...
  18. I may be alone with this opinion, but I actually don't think Davis will wrestle Lee better if they meet again. I think just the opposite will happen.
