    This kid is the real deal! Have gotten to watch and coach this kid a few times over the past year or so. Took him to Virginia Beach last year, one thing I noticed is he was going to go compete no matter WHAT! You saw that Saturday. This kid is special. Congrats to him, his family, and New Castle Wrestling on an amazing weekend by all 3 wrestlers!

    Also a cool note for my #thecounty friends, Hendricks County sends 14 kids to state in a county of only 6 schools!!

    No one comes close to 29, Mooresville Regional represents half of the kids going to State from the Evansville Semi State.

    Logan Bickel did it last weekend on Lane Gilbert, don’t sleep on him to pull it off again!

    Jake Sinkovicks up 14 and ranked #2 in the state at the time got headlocked and pinned by Mater Dei

    Talked to their coaches Saturday and congratulated them all multiple times! What they were able to accomplish this season was truly incredible! I also want to say every interaction we had with their team they were class acts. Great kids, and a great coaching staff. Keep doing what you are doing Tell City!

    Presale was a code for qualifiers parents I believe each kid gets a code for 4 tickets at least that is how it was done last year!

    Thank you for the kind words! last year I took this job with only 13 kids day 1 in the room. In the past 2 season 3/13 have qualified for state, and we have 31 kids in the room this year. On top of that this year creates 2 firsts for the Cascade Wrestling Program. This is the first time Cascade has had a wrestler at the IHSAA State Finals in consecutive years, and this is the first time that Cascade has ever sent 2 kids to State in the same year!! We are proud of these boys and their hard work and dedication to the grind! Congrats to all of the State Qualifiers from all over the state, we will see you all Friday!!

    Currently in the top 10 at 1A you have 1 from East Chicago, West Central 1 from New Castle, Southmont 1 from Evansville, Cascade The other 7 teams are all the New Haven SS

    So if you're top 3 in the WORLD and have the opportunity to wrestle for another country so that you don't have to go through the insane process of making a US olympic team you wouldn't bypass that?

    Alex Dolley also did this with Ireland I believe, but as @malignedstated no Americans have seen success at 57/61KG for America in the recent past! Micic college career is also very touted and he is a 3x State Champion in HS. To add to all of this he is still in his 20s and still competing!

    He did what he had to do. He’s on an Olympic team the others aren’t. You can’t take anything away from him for taking an opportunity and making the most of it!

    The fact Stevan Micic hasn’t been mentioned is wild. He’s the only male world medalist from Indiana wrestling right now and was also at the Olympics. Not positive but is he the only world medalist from Indiana? Did Howe ever do that? Sarah is the top female no doubt, Kayla is close but just not the accomplishments Sarah has right now!

    This event is happening. Believe it’s march 4/5 at Southmont HS. Greg Hughes and Ryan Williams are the lead guys on this I believe. Was a solid event last year. I love the single class state, but this is something like frosh / soph state to give more opportunity so I like that.
