  1. Just curious, what is The Chet? I assume it is a place with basketball goals. And it sounds like a place where New Castle people go. Other than that?
  2. I think you are still misunderstanding Jayruss’s question. I believe he meant which SCHOOL (not which semi-state) had the most semi-State champions (who will be GOING to state). Based on that interpretation, Crown Point HIGH SCHOOL had the most with 5 semi-state champions. Based on your interpretation though, I agree that I think the New Castle Semi-State will end up with the most state champions ... although I think it will be close between 3 of the semi-states.
  3. I’d think his alternate probably would show up Friday evening at weight and with his wrestling clothes ready to wrestle ... just in case.
  4. Very interesting data, Y2. Thank you for sharing. What I think would be nice to see is how well all the wrestlers did on Friday night based on how well they were “expected” to do (based on their “seedings” ... or maybe rankings). That might be a bit better measure of who you want in your corner. No, I don’t expect you to add the next level of complexity. I just appreciate the work you’ve already done to supply this info. Thank you.
  5. I believe Jayruss meant who had the most semi-state champs (going to state). Agreed that there won’t be one school with 5 champions.
  6. Private Catholic school but not a parochial school.
  7. By these numbers, Ft. Wayne was by far the most balanced semi-state followed by New Castle.
  8. Based on the “How many through” thread, it looks like Crown Point has 5 champions.
  9. When a smaller school loses a coaching legend ...
  10. If counted correctly, at the Ft. Wayne Semi-State there were 14 champions from 14 different schools and 34 different teams sending wrestlers to State. Western 4 - 0 champs Bellmont 3 - 1 champ Garrett 3 - 1 Oak Hill 3 - 1 Carroll 3 - 0 Southern Wells? 3 - 0 Peru 2 - 1 New Haven? 2 - 1 Norwell? 2 - 1
  11. If I counted correctly, at New Castle: Cathedral 8 - 3 champs Carmel 7 - 0 champs Warren Central 5 - 1 Roncalli 4 - 3 Perry Meridian 3 - 3
  12. Cathedral advanced 8 to the state finals. How many did some of the other schools get through?
  13. The maximum number of season tournaments you could participate in was different. Since then, the IHSAA changed things a bit to try to encourage more SINGLE dual meets and fewer tournaments.
  14. Wow, Y2, this terrific!!! Thank you much. My wife will be very appreciative, too, when she sees this. It’s a must read before Saturday.
  15. The Pendleton Heights regional was pretty close to that this year, although maybe not quite as much so. I think it was 39-17 (69.6% vs 30.4%). But part of that was Cathedral getting 14 through themselves. And multiple teams had down years in the Elwood sectional. I don’t think it was quite that lopsided the last couple years at least.
  16. I know it was a LOT of work and time involved with those inputs from Dingo and all those who did similar for the other semi-states.
  17. I suspect he is supplying them piecemeal as he gets them done rather than waiting until he gets them all done.
  18. I sure am missing the breakdowns and predictions that the Dingo Brigade used to provide. I sure hope all the Australian wild fires didn’t eliminate the world’s population of dingoes. I hope there is at least one brigade of them left.
  19. Good question. The only opponent his profile shows him wrestling is Dylan Driver, who isn’t ranked. Wolf pinned him in 1:41. Driver’s profile shows he also lost to Cottey 13-4. It also shows Driver beat 19th ranked Sutton, so he isn’t bad even if he isn’t ranked.
  20. In another thread TeamGarcia said he was injured.
  21. Obviously, upsets can negatively affect more than just the individual who was upset. Wrestlebacks are generally a good thing.
  22. So said the Houston Astros and Red Sox recently and many past steroid users in baseball. Yes, I know it’s a different sport.
