  1. I just wish someone would come out and say exactly what is going on so all the rumor mills would stop churning. I am the father of a former wrestler at LN and would love to know just what has transpired since my son left to cause a great coaching staff to just up and quit after taking their team to the State Finals. Certainly can't be that they thought they lost too much talent in the off season, they didn't quit after they lost Nelson last year or Quiroga the year before. And they went further this past year than they had the three prior years. I don't know, maybe they aren't allowed to talk about what is going on, just wish someone would come out and announce something so we can stop wondering.
  2. Actually, "Papa John"'s last name is spelled "Schnatter"
  3. If you are going to rationalize that way, CP's only loss of the year came on Saturday to EMD and EMD's only loss of the year came on Saturday to LN so what does that say about LN?.....Nothing, they just wrestled a better second round match than EMD. If you are going to base results off of prior performance then why bother wrestling the matches, just have the three undefeated teams wrestle round robin to see who gets first, the other 5 can go home. That seems to be what alot of people thought would happen this weekend, problem is, Lawrence North never got the "Memo"! ;D
  4. I don't think that a team that just upset a better team ever has a let down, I know I am still celebrating LN's 2nd place finish, no let down here. Back in December when LN wrestled PM at the Franklin Super 6 the score was 41-21 so how can we seriously think that a 44-21 is a let down. Par for the course I'd say, they just match up better against our guy's.
  5. I have only been following wrestling for 5 years now since my son decided to start wrestling in 8th grade. If I could sit in the stands and discuss with people as to "why is CP's 145 not wrestling at 145" and say that "maybe he's bumping up a weight" and then when he doesn't come out for 152 "well, I guess he didn't make weight for 145 and weighed in at 152 and is gona bump to 160" and then realize that he did weigh in at 145 and is trying to bump two weight classes? I would think that if I know the rules, a high school coach would. I reminds me of when Donovan McNabb didn't know a football game could end in a tie if no one scores after OT. Really coach? Really?
  6. Take it up to the upper deck seats and stash it till you come back for session 2.

    Attendance?

Yeah, and there wasn't much parking left on the ice rink either, I had to park in the snow drift!
  9. Yes, I agree, that by definition an upset is anytime a lesser opponent defeats another that is considered to be better. But, I don't think that the Bed Davis kid won, so much as the LN kid let his guard down and lost. Thats all I'm trying to say.
  10. No, an upset is when a guy comes in under the radar and works hard and wins by working hard, like Andrew Rattay did filling in for Robert Boston at 119 today, if you are loosing the whole match till the last 10 seconds and get the pin, thats not an upset, thats plain lucky!
  11. Again, another guy getting lucky, and sticking a better wrestler who let his guard down...
  12. Wouldn't call it an upset, he got lucky and caught Rattay with a head throw in the last seconds of the match and stuck him!
  13. We might have a better idea of the possible outcome if PJ wasn't hurt last weekend during the North Central Duals and would have shown up and wrestled Matt there.
  14. Just the fact that there is a name for it, (Checking the oil) and this is not the first time I have heard it referred to as such, makes me wonder. Obviously someone is coaching it as an acceptable option for getting a grip on your opponent. Or is it just something that the kids have come up with on their own. Either way someone needs to address it!
  15. Yeah, but Boston had taken him down once already and cut him and was going for the second take down and ended up getting switched for the pin.
  16. Yeah, but what are you supposed to do when you push the action for 6 minutes and the other kid wins because all he did was let you push him around the mat and fend off all your shots and the score is 1-0 because he chose down in the second and you gave up the 1 point because you thought you had a better chance of getting the take down and the 2 with 4 minutes, instead of trying to keep him down for 2 then trying to escape in 2? I guess the only big move that he came up with was convincing the ref's that he wasn't stalling. Oh, yeah, and it's especially frustrating when you wrestled the same kid last year at Conseco and he did the same thing to you then? I guess once bitten, twice shy. Third time the charm? We shall see...
