  1. Maybe instead of saying same team cannot be invited back but once every three years, you bring the returning champs back every year to defend their title? Just My Opinion...
  2. I dont think the coaches with strong programs agree with you, but maybe the non competitive teams or the coaches that may be going through the motions. Never met anyone who saw last years team state that didn't think it was great action and great for the sport....
  3. It's true next year all it takes are four or five quality kids and your Team State Champs Possilbly, boy what a system to look forward to, :
  4. 195lbs semis will be good, and HWT's are 3 deep with probably top 20 kids, not to mention 113lbs finals...
  5. Thank you Y2, I was not there and thought it was freestyle...My mistake!! Are you saying these are not the same kids and both are from Iowa? I thought they were because prior to Fargo Scanlon was ranked on one of these ranking sites, and we knew him as Wes has wrestled him before.
  6. I would say this sums up most thoughts from the folks who still would like to see true team champs (classed or not)!!!
  7. At 220lbs Honorable Mention Joe Scanlon from IA was at HWT in Fargo this summer, and lost in Freestyle to Wesley Bernard...
  8. I think that's was tried and talked about before there was even a Team State Series :, so lets take to steps back and hope we can pick up something that's been desired for years. That is the point, since we didn't have wrestlebacks they gave us team state, and now they take it away and we have neither. How does one not see this as going backwards? Are you so young or new to this sport that you don't remenber the years of calling for wrestlebacks? They threw us a bone and now has taken it back...
  9. Maybe because the BEST TEAM is not crowned the State's Best Team!! Simple enough :
  10. Yeah, like that hasn't been tried before by the football programs that dont win ??? Same concept I guess lets find a way to get our team a title, other than just beating who's been put in front of you...Same teams seem to win regularly because they have the best programs, it's a pretty simple concept!! How do you see a team that has losses on it season against a team that's undefeated and they may have even went head to head, but your State Champ could be the team with the losses?? It's just wrong! Although I agree with Y2 that the leaders of this sport for the most part woke up a little late on finding a workable souloution (such as classing team state), which I must say I wasn't big on until it was a good alternitive to loosing team state series altogether....
  11. Since the majority of most wrestlers from any given team dont even make it far enough to wrestle in the State Individule Tourney it's a shame in my opinion 3-4 guys wins it for a team, while their teammates may not even be there watching or wrestling at the tourney...Just My Opinion!!!
  12. I could swear their are a bunch of guys from the same school, that roll around together no less than 5 days a week together, and make each other better by pushing and practicing together, and they even call themselves teammates.....Team
  13. He's the backup to the center and both guards so he will be dressing until they are done, but he's getting on the mat on his own on the weekends...
  14. Just wondering otherise219 why would SSQRobinson @ 220lbs leap ahead of SQReagen? Thanks for the hard work and effort, just gotta ask?
  15. I think Forte maybe the best of this bunch and is very mature for a freshman, and beat some very good people over the spring last I saw...Just My Opinion...
  16. I could see Forte at #2 @126, but I hear he could be at 132lbs also...
  17. I spoke with Cody and his dad last year at our duel at Lebanon and they said he was taking a year off, and would be back this year but I have yet to see him on a mat at the local or national level in which he use to do regularly!! So who knows???
  18. Yet you always seemed to be concerned with me...
  19. Brooks 1st & Jackson a OT loss for 2nd
  20. I think he wrestled at the super 32 this weekend at 120lbs....
  21. You funny guy, Donte is a good kid & wrestler but I do want to ask who did he beat their any national kids? The season is upon us and the kids wrestling the matches will decide who belongs where.
  22. Do you know if that was Stevenson from the region that Kirk beat or are you not sure?
  23. Not so quick my friend you forgot lil Harvey @ 113lbs, and look for Smiley @ 120lbs and not 126lbs, and although you would know better than I but I'm guessing Bradon James will also be at 113lbs. At one point I would have said Tommy Cash @ 106lbs, but I hear his natural growth may have him up to 113lbs (although I believe the plan is for him to be @106lbs)....
  24. Zach, did any other team do as well or did they win the team portion? Who were Donte's opponets at this tourney, or do you know? Sounds like he tore it up, who faced good national talent that you aware of? Was that Bobby Stevenson from the region Kirk beat? Did you go, and did you watch Brooks & Jackson at the super 32?
  25. Over half of the Irish lineup will not be avilable until after Thankgiving day weekend, and that's assuming they don't take a week off to let their bodies heal! That's if they get to the finals in which they are favored to advance.
