    Wow, could just be recent bias, but Goodwin and Newman may have been one of the best Friday matches I’ve seen.

    Ooh! This is fun! I’m gonna reach reaaaallly hard and claim #60 for Christian Carroll, whose brother wrestled for Jimtown. Edit: Better yet, I’m going to be shameless and claim Christian as an outright Jimmie.

    Shoutout to Delta and all three of the wrestlers you mentioned. Bollinger looked incredible against Julianna, Mosier and Holloway was one of the most exciting matches of the day, and Braxton Russell was my second biggest rankings miss this year(sorry Armen Koltookian as well), and I had a feeling the day of sectionals that he was going to make me pay for that one. Delta has something special going on right now, I’m looking forward to seeing the program keep growing.

    One of the most impressive wrestlers at Ft. Wayne today. Looked solid each round and then had a fantastic championship match.

    Heather Crull and Julianna O’Campo made history today by both qualifying for the state finals and increasing Indiana’s female state qualifier count from 1 to 3.

    And wasn’t that match set up because one of them had lost to the #1 ranked wrestler at regionals?

    Rematch of the state 3rd place match the year prior. And just the year before that, same weight, was Schuyler Phillips vs. Forrest Glogouski. Returning runner-up vs. returning 6th placer, I’m pretty sure both ranked top 3 at the time. Phillips was upset at regionals and gave Forrest his only loss of the season in the ticket round. Forrest came back the next year and was the runner-up to Chad Red.

    Jimmie alum bias aside, I’m expecting this to be an very close, intense, potential match of the day at Ft. Wayne. Absolute shame that one of these two will have their final match this Saturday instead of next week.

    Evansville is always scary. Only semi-state I’ve never won, and almost routinely the one I do the worst with. Side note after looking at Joe’s history doc, I really finished second overall in 4 out of 5 years(‘15, ‘16, ‘17, and ‘19). Yikes.

    The funniest part about this is that there wasn’t actually another “notable results” thread about the day as a whole. The other threads were strictly to cover team state, and there were plenty of other tournaments this weekend. OP got scolded for starting the conversation lol
