  1. Ok, I'll take it. It was a simple plan dude. That was the beauty of it!!
  2. Those guys at the Westminster office dont take into account Shabbas!! I couldn't drive to get there. And my ex wife was on vacation with her boyfriend.
  3. 103: Jacob Boomsma 4 112: Petrov 3 119: Levi Moss 2 125: Josh Keifer 3 130: Michael Brown 3 135: Jake Fuqua 2 140: Phelan Montgomery 4 145: Roy Whetstine 1 152: Conner Mullins 2 160: John Simms 2 171: Drake Stein 5 189: Josh Boots 2 215: Iyan Bass 1 285: Kaden Suter 4 I still think I should be able to FF if I want. But you made the rules. So here is my team B.
  4. It was a very complicated formula. It had to do with Class wrestling, not shaking hands, Bobby Cox and the amount of Fans Mater Dei will bring minus the amount of Fans Crown Point will bring times the complaints about the Merriville semistate divided by how many cool points Demoguy loses per post plus the cost of the Dude's rug. Do the math Dude, it comes out to $38. Am I Wrong!?!
  5. I like your style too, you got the whole Hockey mask thing going. Is that Sioux City Saspirilla?
  6. 103: Boomsma 4 112: Petrov 3 119: Carrol 4 125: Keifer 3 130: FF -0 135: FF-0 140: Tsirtsis 5.5 145: James - 4 152: Welch 5 160: Welch 4.5 171: Stein 5 189: FF-0 215: FF-0 285: Ff- 0 I am going to FF a few weight classes since this is not a dual meet format. I think this give me a chance to score somewhere around 190 points. Possibly 5 champs out of this group. It is my "old school" team. I might come up with a full team for a team B.
  7. And this comes from a Coach who has won the coaches trophy. I think the guy is in his element here. He knows what he is talking about. I concur sir!! Having team state forces a coach to spend time and concentrate on a kid who might otherwise be left behind because he cant score points in the individual tournament.
  8. Could these twins switch weight classes after weighins? Would anyone notice?
  9. Someone needs to keep a list of all the kids who have been "held back" in the 8th grade and then compare how they do with the kids who progress through school on a normal time line. See not only how they do athletically but socially and academically as well. Let us not forget also that if all the legislation passes on education reform some kids might graduate from HS in three years. Am I Wrong?!?
  10. I agree, if you have the time and money go a club weekly. If you want to go to a week long camp, it depends on your skill level. Sectional Level: I would reccomend Chertow's camp Regional Level: J Robinson or Chertow's Super gold medal camp Semi-State: Jeff Jordan or Chertow's Super gold (Travel out of state to the East) State: Jordan If you are in middle school Primetime is a great camp. The key to going to anycamp is working on the technique daily when you get home. If you go to a camp in June and don't start practice until November, you will forget 99% of what you learned.
  11. Slick, I may be wrong but I believe that if stalling is called on the Top wrestler the rule calls for wrestling to be stopped. The intent to give the bottom wrestler a fresh start out of any "stalling" type of hold.
  12. That is the issue. The coaches have to submit the roster PRIOR to the sectional meeting. That way a coach can't get there and find out where kids are and perhaps dodge someone or change their line up anymore than allowing a kid to wrestle up one weight class from where they are listed on the sectional roster. My guess is Penns AD sent the wrong roster for the sectional roster and no one at the meeting checked it. Otherwise when the seeding was going on they would have been able to say that Manspeaker was listed at 135 and he is NOT allowed to wrestle down a weight. If it is caught early enough, I belive the IHSAA allows you to change, however there is a fee to do so.
  13. Thanks MattM your a real pal. Should I go ahead and get that to try and make up?
  14. Man am I in trouble over this Valentines day issue. My wife said she wanted something sleek and shiny that would go from 0-180 fast as all get out... I brought home a new weight scale and she kicked me to the dog house. I am a wrestling guy what was I to think?
  15. I can't believe no one caught it at the seed meeting. ?
  16. From what I have seen, Boston better get off bottom quick or get enough takedowns that he can choose neutral. Everyone is selling Boomsma short on his technique... I think he has enough to hang with Boston, the question is Boston quick enough to finish his shots and can he move Boomsma on his feet to get a good set up.
  17. I got to see it saturday... happened in the warm up area... Doug won, but it was close... It was awesome... both kept throwing rock, then paper, then rock then sciccors... it was a barn burner until finally Doug threw paper out of turn, Chad threw rock and everyone knows that paper covers rock. What a match. I say next time they do best two of three!! Am I wrong!?!
  18. Maybe the coach didn't cross the line.... if you cross the line while competing with me, you enter a world of pain... just ask Smokey what happens. Even if you are Fragile!!!
  19. First of all dude I am calmer than you are.... Second of all you are right... the hobart fans were ready to stone that ref with bricks.... (thus their nickname) I believe the finals match you are referring to was McMurray of Portage over Galka of Hobart. A tough call, but I agree the right one. Especially if you were from Portage. Could someone post the video of the Neff match?
  20. I have to laugh... a few years back this same thing happened in a semi-finals match at Conseco. No points were scored and I remember the bloomington south fans/coaches and supports going crazy over no points being awarded. It seems as if the call goes your way it is right, if not it is the "worst call" ever made. I did not see this match, but I will say that almost having a reversal does not equal an escape. A very tough call to be made and most wrestling fans/parents do not understand it. It also takes an experience official to get it right all the time. Am I wrong?!?
  21. nick, Watch the movie Dude, you have no frame of reference. I know he is not hurt, it is bush league psyche out stuff!! Those 52#ers are entering a world of pain!!
  22. Story our coach got from this weekend.... Buzzer above mat goes off, not the clock for that mat.... top wrestler stops wrestling, bottom guy gets up and faces him... ref gives a point.... top guys' coach questions the call, but not really argues... ref goes to table, comes back and takes point back. Bottom guys' coach then ask the ref what the heck is going on, the ref says "buzzer interference" to which c0ach says, " I didn't know that was a rule"... the ref then replies " It isn't, I just made it up" Buzzer interference... now that is a good one coming from a ref who is supposedly qualified to do matches that determine who advances in the state finals.... smokey this is regionals, not nam... there are rules here, there is no oops sorry you stopped the buzzer mustve interfered with your ability to keep wrestling.... no worries, we'll fix it rule. Am I Wrong?!? But it made for a good laugh on the way home. Luckily it didn't cost the kid the match.
  23. Just ask Sam Horrocks about his regional semi-final match... that ref was somewhere else for that one!!!
  24. Uh, i would think they would have a hard time making weight.... I will start now and going by IHSAA 1.5%rule I will be eligible for my high school weight class in 2051 Am I wrong!?!
