Overall pretty good experience. The only 2 bad things were obviously the food and drink prices.......we're at a high school event not a Professional event so come on. Additionally on Sat. I get there very early to make sure I got good seats. Like 4th in line from about 7:15...wait gates open and the rush begins. I get to my section and there are people trying to save whole rows. Thats ridiculous......make them get up and get there just like everyone else. So obviously after honoring a cpl of requests to people who were saving finally I said to heck with it and sat where I chose. Just think people need to realize that others made that sacrifice to get there early also. Anyway other than that saw some great wrestling.

Way to go kid Mason Todd. Had alot of talented wretlers at 112 so for you to stand at the top is a great accomplishment. Have really enjoyed watching you wrestle the last few weekends.

While I dont agree with some of the calls made (not saying I am right just my judgment was different), I will give the officals a pat on the back for being able to take the criticism well. I witnessed a few outbursts by coaches that could have resulted in them being ejected. I know an athlete being ejected must miss next game but do coaches also?? If so there would be a few coaches from New Castle SS missing this weeks State if the officials hadn't been thick skinned. So I do applaud them for that!

Well the ref kept telling him to go sit in the stands which he never did and continued to argue so why the ref didnt eject him is beyond me. I can say that for all the bad calls that went these refs had thick skin because several coaches went ballistic.......and a mother who came onto the floor screaming at a ref LOL.

That makes the score 7-5 which by the way 1 point came in the final seconds when Mason Todd was riding Phillips and let him up a cpl seconds before the buzzer sounded so coulda been 7-4. Phillips isnt on here whining so why are u? Also why dont u think there will be a re-match? U don't believe Phillips will make it that far? 2 very good wrestlers and if anyone counts either 1 out or overlooks either 1 then they could be very surprised.

During the New Castle SS I was watching a match which involved Arsenal Tech. During the match the Arsenal Tech coaches began flipping out about a call. During this the ref sitting at the scorers bench orders 1 of the coaches out of the corners and tells him to go sit in the stands. The coach walks over and sits front row behind the the ref. The ref orders him several times to move up into the bleachers. He never does and continues to argue. A few moments later he gets up and goes and stands behind the Arsenal Tech coach and his replacement and continues to coach. Then Arsenal Tech has the very next match right there on the same mat and he takes over his seat and continues coaching for the next match. I thought that if a ref made you leave your coaching seat it was an ejection and resulted in you being removed for the remaider of the day? Is this not the case? Can they just make you leave your seat for that match without ejecting you?

Great Match! Todd wrestled extremely well and truly dominated this match from beginning to end. I am an outsider with no wrestler in this match and I saw no bad calls in this match, if any were made it never affected the outcome. Mason Todd went out there and took it to Phillips and got a well deserved victory. To say it wont happen again.........from what I have seen of Mason Todd if he shows up like that every match he is VERY capable of beating any kid out there. Great job Mason and it was a pleasure to watch you handle business today!

GSP won't be able to handle Silva's reach. Silva is also very good at stuffing the takedown so I would see this fight on their feet mostly which works better to Silva's reach. Silva has beat anyone they put in front of him. Sure some of his fights may look boring but he still walks out with the title so thats all that matters really. It's not his fault there is no competition out there for him. He even moved up to 205 due to the lack of competition at 185 so how can anyone bash him? I hope him and GSP do meet cause they both need a good fight.

LOL funny how we can go from ANY topic to class wrestling. It will always be an argument regardless of whether it does or does not happen. If it happens so be it however I would suggest if it ever does happen then they should do what all the other sports fail to due and that is have a tournament of champions. Crown each class champion then have them compete against each other the following week. Obviously this would make it more competitive as you would have the best of the best competing together. This way would also allow the small schools a shot at the big boys. Plus it would create more revenue as well. Just a thought.

I havent read every page so not sure if this has been addressed so if it has I apologize. The sad part is if Eastern is battling sickness which is very possible as it is going around.........I wouldnt want my kid to wrestle a sick wrestler. Next week we will be reading a bunch of complaining about kids who lost because Eastern got them sick. I know for a fact that most of our wrestling team (not Eastern either LOL) battled sickness the week before sectionals so it is very believable to me. I would think people would be happy that Eastern is not putting their sick wrestling team in a room (weigh-ins) or a gym with other teams. Just my thoughts and once again sorry if this was brought up previously.
