SIACfan Posted December 13, 2022 Share Posted December 13, 2022 Mendez has already wrestled 7 matches, but 4 of those came at the Michigan State Open, which I believe only counts as one event. Thus, he is available to redshirt under the new rules as I understand them. If he suffered an elbow injury of some sort that could keep him sidelined for any amount of time, I suppose it then makes sense to redshirt him. It is even entirely possible that redshirting him has been the plan all along given the new rules. Only time will tell. But I was really looking forward to seeing him wrestle in the B1G this year.
