markio
I can't believe more people are not complaining about no outside food or drink being brought into the venue, this is crap! It's the same policy that any public arena will have. If you go to Bankers Life next week they will not let you bring any in either. Castle regional had signage saying the same thing last weekend. Castle regional had signage saying the same thing last weekend. I forgot to put my [sarcasm] quotes around the post markio! LOL I was taking a shot at all the individuals that complain every year about the Merrillville Semi-State about over priced food and the no cooler policy. It seems you have one similar only allow the wrestlers to bring a cooler only having to keep it in the locker room area.

piratefan
If I remember correctly, our alternates had to pay to get in last year and only two coaches got passes? I think this is BS but it is what they set up with the IHSAA...

DomingoKoec
It's that time of year again and I wanted to share some info that might come in handy, especially for those that might be attending an event for the first time at the Ford Center. If you have any additional questions just let me know, I'm the one who represents the venue for this event and all other events at the arena. I'm a huge wrestling fan and am only posting this so you don't get hassled or are surprised by any of the rules, etc. I truly look forward to this event every year. - Parking and general information about the arena can be found at www.thefordcenter.com - The main entrance is located on Main St. - Wrestlers and coaches will enter at the interior ticket lobby doors located to the right of the main entrance doors. - Doors will open up at 8am CST. Prices and times are listed on www.IHSAA.org, so go there if you don't already have that info. - No outside food or drinks are allowed through the front doors. Any and all team coolers must enter at the wrestler/coaches entrance and taken to the locker room area and need to stay there. If they are taken to the stands the ushers will ask you to take them back to the locker room area. - We will have full concessions available throughout the day. Coffee and hot chocolate are also available all day as well. (get the bbq pork nachos, huge and awesome) - Please do not climb over the dasher walls! Wrestlers and coaches have a specific entrance on to the floor so please use that one. - There is no on-site parking for teams or attendees. Again, parking info can be found on our website. - There is no smoking on or in the Ford Center property, this includes ecigs. - There is NO "public" Wi-Fi available. The available connections you will see listed if you look are for Ticketmaster and other various systems. - If you set up a camcorder it must be out of the aisles and all cords must be taped down to avoid tripping hazards. If you need some tape just ask an usher and we can help you out. - Brackets will be updated throughout the day and posted on several of the 170 or so TVs located all over the arena. The brackets end up kind of small, but hey, they are everywhere and pretty cool. - Lastly, if you are a wrestler that loses please don't kick, throw, or punch Ford Center property. We had a kid break off a door handle last year. Sent the bill to the school. That's all I have for now. If I think of anything else I will update this post. Like I said, let me know if you have any questions. We look forward to seeing you all on Saturday!! It was very nice event.. I can't say perfect one there were many pit holes.. I really hope next event will be much better..
