Maybe coaches should vote on who the alt should be in all weights Actually isn't it the LAST non-placer to lose to the SS Champ? If a Regional Champ ends up the SS Champ it could not be a 4 since they wrestled their 4 in the FIRST round. However if a Regional Champ is beaten in the ticket round a wrestle back would give him a better shot at being the alternate. However that would significantly increase the length of the competition for the day. If you were the one who picked up the alternate then it would be worth it. Second, it would be fair to the kids who are state quality that just got the bad draw, and third it keeps a kid that would for ex.
