    Merillville semi state has been dominant for years. No reason for that to change now. A lot of outstanding wrestlers like Matt Hurford not getting enough recognition until a week before sectionals.

    East Noble didn't wrestle New Prarie at Munster, but if they would have they would have killed them. New Prarie squeaked out a win against Lake Central with bonus points. East Noble dominated the tournament, and I think that they are better than what people may think. We only won two matches against them.

    I take that back about Wiseman. I just got word from a Penn source that he is a Junior.

    Well this all started out as East Noble being a very dominant team, but I may add that it is amazing how a school of 1200 can smash Lake Central who has like 3600. It takes dedicated wrestlers and good coaching.

    All I am saying is there are style preferences and there is no way to gauge these examples. It is like this, anyone can shoot a low single but can they do it with 220 pounds on their back? With the weight added certain moves are more difficult to accomplish. And you can talk bad about it but it is just preference. Has nothing to do with "garbage wrestling." And yes Gelen isn't the greatest wrestler but other 220s like Braxton Eby know how to handle themselves.

    Exactly. It all started with a derrogatory comment against heavier kids. Just don't say anything negative and you won't get these posts.

    If you are trying to say that your kid is a better athlete than Gelen Robinson you are just dreaming. If you disagree you should just wrestle him yourself. I understand how wrestling works, and I also understand that some 220's (like Braxton Eby or Jaylin Allen) are better at "wrestling" than some 126's (like Fleener who tried to throw a headlock at the Al Smith Final). I know how wrestling works and perhaps this is the only sport YOU can participate in but don't be butthurt that other people have natural skills with it. Some kids couldn't make a weight class in ISWA.

    I'm sorry your son didn't eat his veggies? Lol. When you look at 220 the top 10 are linebackers, defensive ends, and running backs. I don't care how "athletic" a 106 pounder is Gelen Robinson still is a better athlete. Also what I'm trying to say is that strength plays a larger role in heavier weights because some gifted wrestlers get out muscled.

    Awful heavier weights? The heavier weights are more exciting because the kids that step out on the mat are athletes with legitimate strength. The 106 weight class takes away elements of the sport like strength and conditioning. It plays a bigger factor in the heavy classes.

    It's too bad they lost to Carrol because they have a very good team this year and are very solid all the way through the line up.

    Has anyone beaten East Noble yet? They are probably one of the best schooled teams in the state. They are technically sound and whooped on every time that I've seen them wrestle so far. Did they turn down a bid to team state or did they just not get one? They are very dominant.

    Also, Garrett Majrchzak, Wade Young(170) and Joey Stasiak and Don Stanish(195) are all seniors.

    Jeff Wiseman of Penn is a senior. Mike Eldridge of La Porte is a Junior. 170 182 Tony Rodriguez is a senior.

    The state champions over the past few years have been from the Merrillville semi-state. Particularly the DAC conference. Wrestlers in 'The Conference' face tough wrestlers week in and week out. With up and coming Valpo and Leroy Vega back at Portage, do you believe these trends will continue? Explain..

    Of all of the wrestling I've seen Alex tsirtsis has the best takedown in the game. He could take anyone down at any time which includes his brother, but people don't ignore the fact that the kid arrogantly stated he could beat anyone at any weight. Who would like to see Gelen Robinson vs. Tsirtsis? Is this not comical to anyone else, because if you truly think Jason would win you are dumb. I've watched Ian Barclay easily the best wrestler in La Porte history get his ass handed to him by the current heavyweight who is a second year wrestler. Jason would have no chance.

    Jason doesn't even have the takedown skills that Alex does. As I recall Devon Jackson took Jason into OT Jackaon never having won a state title. Harper was supposed to be the second unbeaten wrestler except for the shoulder injury. I'd say Steve Sandefur would beat Jason. Although, Jason told papers he could beat anyone at any weight class in Indiana lol good joke

    I 'm not going to say I disagree, but I think I can make more of a case of guys who went to state or placed but didn't win at lower weights as FR & SO, then proceeded to win 1 or more State titles at higher weights. Tim Myers, Steven Bradley, Reece Humphrey,...just to name a few off my head. Reece Humphrey broke his leg at semi state freshman year moron.

    Look out for alex stewart of laporte at 160 he is easily the strongest 160 pounder in the whole state

    ohhh wow everyone. we're talking about the difference between 2nd and 4th. Cuz neither one was gonna win and if u dont get first place it doesnt make to big of a difference

    i know what u guys think but a time ago connor mullins traveled all the way up to munster just to wrestle kyle ayersman and he was way to much for kyle to handle. connor is one rough customer

    idk how much of a blowout this match is really gonna be and thats if zac makes it to the final we all forget sean only beat t.willis 1-0

    also danny not only beat hawkins in 2OT he pinned him in 2OT he is way way better trust me he was my sparring partner for like 5 years plus no one has worked harder than him and no one deserves it more than him you all underestimate the power of the knox kids jimmy krause is another one
