  1. I found it more funny that there was an inference that if he was pretending to shoot a deer that would be ok. I guess my point is that that he had been climbing a mountain since he was a kid, and in that one instance he reached the summit. You cannot imagine the emotions, nor the reaction you are going to have. I bet my house he doesn't remember it anyway. Just an immediate show of exhuburance & emotion. I see worse at the IHSAA state tourney every year. That being said, they earn the right to celebrate by winning. As long as it is not directed at their opponent. That I rarely see.
  2. he was shooting at his ankle bands that he threw in the air.
  3. Are you guys serious critisizing this kid's celebration? Have you ever worked your whole life for something, and then attained it at that level? He was a returning finalist, and Cael made a decision to not let him return at the same weight. Crazy. As fate would have it he was able to pin David Taylor, who was chosen over him by Penn State. He deserved to celebrate in whatever manner he wanted that wasn't disrespectful to Taylor. I thought that was the case. I like Taylor, but was happy for Bubba. One quote was "act like you have been there"....dumbest response ever. He had not been there. This isnt a regular season dual meet. It was the NCAA Finals, which he had NEVER won.
  4. Solid classy haircut on a child as well. Even with the talent, tough to look past that trailer park cut. ;D
  5. I didn't ever shake hands of the opposing coach. It was not out of disrespect. It was something we just didn't do. I graduated in 93, and it was probably 50/50 then. I think it started to increae thru the 90s. I don't see it a disrespect, because we always shook hands at the end of dual meets.
  6. Here is a quote from Cody from Indy Star..."I know he's tough. He's undefeated for a reason. He came out with a better game plan than I had. I just got outwrestled." Sounds to me like he flatout got beat, & owns up to it immediatly. But you can keep making excuses he doesnt want if you like Wrestler33. ;D
  7. Yes kids play video games, but you are forgetting what market segment Hardware is targeted to. Wii is for 4-15 year olds. Xbox & PS3 main market is adults. I am 35 & play daily with 3 -4 friends that are my age or older. my point is that more adults comprise the user #s than you think. Knowing what I know about games & the industry, it won't work, but hey...start a software company & pirate the engine to make the game. I think wrestling is a great sport, but at the elite level it's boring. 3-2 scores & defense is what wins in college. Who wants to play that game?
  8. You just proved my point. How many viewers did NCAA Bowl games draw? How may people are watching NFL playoff today? I will be buying Tiger Woods as well. I play 60+ rounds of golf a year, and enjoy it. How many viewers watch The Masters? Now, what time will the wrestling NCAA Finals be televised? 11pm on ESPNU? Hardly a national ratings draw. Just facts. Black OPs grossed over $1 Billion btw, hardly a money pit. That is more than any movie ever will. I am just saying, if they could have made $ on it, they would. It's the same reason you won't be seeing a syncronized swimming, water polo, or field hockey game. The demand isnt there. They could probably use the same engine that runs FIFA for field hockey
  9. I have previously worked in the video game industry. I worked directly with the games manufacturers, developers, and hardware makers. I have also wrestled in HS & College. It WON'T work. The reasons are the same that wrestling struggles to grow now. A pocket of wrestlers will buy it, but even that pocket isn't large enough to make it close to profitable. I understand the passion people have for wrestling, but honestly if you don't coach after college you dont't wrestle anymore. People play basketball, softball, golf, run, flag football, etc. But people don't wrestle. Look at the older age division participation at weekend tourneys. It is non existant. So if we lose interest after HS for most people, how are you going to draw others in? BTW XBOX is targeted to 18-40 year old market. Guess how many in that age range would be interested? Not enough to make money I am not slamming the idea & did not mean to come off as dismissive, I just wanted to give you a realistic outlook.
  10. Good for these kids. Anytime a family is willing to sacrifice for the betterment of their kids, I am all for it. I always see people post on this website like it is a negative. I don't get it. Why would you not want to give your child the best opportunities? If this is true, I applaud this.
  11. He was down 5-2 or 7-2 (getting dominated), when he got spladled for the second time by Cassidy Wilson from Oak Hill who was ranked 4th at the time.
  12. No offense TSpray, I could not disgree more. Viewing these individual rankings is a privelage for us. , and we appreciate the work you previously did for this; however, the team ranking are given for free, and those should be expected by the IHSAA. These rankings are done privately, and I would gladly purchase the ability to view them. We do not need these rankings. We want them; therefore, we can find out does and does not want them badly enough to purchase or donate for them. I also understand you did this for free, and in turn feel others should as well. $% is not alot to ask for this service. It is a service.
  13. I thought kids could go to whatever school they wanted starting in 09-10 year. The schools set their own criteria, and if the student meets them, they may trasnsfer. I believe you will see alot more recruiting in the future from many schools.
  14. Drooke It looks like my memory wasnt too bad shooting from "left field" on this.
  15. I am not sure if it was in Fargo, but I am pretty sure Jeff Piese from Muncie South won both. I think David McCubbins from Monrovia did as well. Peise would have been late 80s, and he is probably the most talented wrestler to never win a state title. He had many national accomplishments. MCubbins would have been early 90s. I am not sure if you meant if they had won both in the same year though.
