  1. Coach, Our 5th and 6th graders do not go to the middle school. They go to intermediate school. Under your guidelines, they would not be able to participate. Is this correct? In your information, it states that 5th graders can fill line ups. Are your 5th graders in your middle school? If they are not, we can have kids from more than one school within the school district. Is this correct? Just trying to determine if we would be able to put together a team. Whatever you say, we are good with. Thanks for stepping up to do this!
  2. Please note that the deadline for entry to the state duals is coming up. All entries and money must be to the ISWA office by December 27th. There is a lot of interest this year.   7. There has to be guidelines we are doing the best that we can. And no it's not a shame. This event is great. With that said, the number of ISWA sanctioned duals has trippled over the last couple of years (all of which are open to all wrestlers that belong to clubs with teams). New dual teams are being created each year. We have also commited to take an annual trip to national duals (open to all wrestlers) every year. We are building something great and are starting from the bottom up. I'm sure that Bryan Bailey, Brandi Cash, and others will continue to lead National dual trips all over this great nation. I am very proud to be a part of this. I am sorry to all that think that what we all do is a shame. All I was doing was announcing that teams may now sign up. That's it. So feel free to do so.   8. Per our conversations, we are attempting level the playing field for smaller communities while keeping this a community based event. Are the guidelines perfect? Absolutely not, but they will never be (in all eyes). Most teams had a hole or two at the top of their line ups, for this reason we have slightly spaced out the upper weights (thus one less weight class this year). Now to answer your question. All wrestlers must attend school at Center Grove with exception of two team members (period). No distance or any other restriction. You can have two wrestlers that do not attend Center Grove as long as they are under 175 and are born in 2000 or after. Smaller schools will be allowed 3 or 4 additional wrestlers (depending on size). Pretty cut and dry. At this time, I would encourage Greenwood (I know that Watson can do it, he's the man), Mooresville, and Southport to put teams together (they all have ISWA clubs). Let's go club leaders, hit the football fields and the elementary schools. Lets build a monster here in Indiana. We can do it from the bottom up. The elementary duals are a great product. We all need to start somewhere. It is very exciting to see new teams and communities get involved. Lets continue to provide more quality opportunities for young wrestlers.
  9. Clubs may now enter teams into the 2013 elementary team state. We will be accepting the first 16 entries now through December 27th. Clubs may enter a second team if less than 16 teams enter. We had 15 tough teams last year, at a very successful event. We look forward to another great event. Weight classes will be as follows: 40,45,50,55,60,65,70,75,80,85,90,95,105,115,130,150, HWT (up to 175).   10. Bryce Biddle is a monster this year. Wait to you see him! He will be an 8th grader. We had Biddle, Larson, and Williamson at AWC a couple years back. That was a line up! Those guys should have a good amount of success this year. A little soon, but we have a 6th grade class that has some tough kids. Look forward to a good season.

For a guy that has opinions on everything, he knows nothing about the history of our great sport. I wonder why he gets booed? There are 16 Carrs. Jimmy was the youngest olympian ever. The Carrs all know their stuff.   12. Why question this? I see way too much negativity on this board. Our sport does not need that. We all love our sport. I have never met Jeff Harper. With this said, it appears that he has dedicated himself to making our sport better and helping countless youth. I'm sure that he volunteers countless hours and sacrifices "family time" to help our youth. Bottom line- Many of us do the same (for our youth) and get knocked down or criticzed for our efforts. WHY? Hats off to Coach Harper. We need more like him! No doubts here.
  13. Great job to all. I would like to acknowledge Ray Rioux and Carson Brewer. These boys started wrestling 6 years ago at the Avon Wrestling Club. They both struggled greatly for their first couple of years. They both have worked their butts off to become very solid wrestlers and even better youngmen. Ray and Carson became the Town of Avon's second and third triple crown winners on the same day (Garrett Williamson was first). We all are very proud of them. Hard work pays off. Also, I would like to acknowledge that 7 of the 25 triple crown winners workout at the Contenders Wrestling Academy. Ryan Parrish does an awesome job with his youth wrestlers. His program is growing and getting stronger every month! The kids that attend, work hard and have a lot of fun. It has been impressive to see. Again, congrats to all.
  14. I got my bronze card via this method. There were coaches from all over the country that joined in. It is pretty cool to hear ideas and opinions of coaches from all over. Very helpful.

  16. As always, good ideas from Rooks. We did invite all ISWA state placers to a camp for wrestle offs. The selection process was documented on page 113 of the ISWA book. Some bad information was put out there and we ended up with what we had. Chris Lynch and I have discussed doing a qualification tourney for next years trip. As far as coaches, we will do our best to bring the most qualified coaches possible. If my teams wins state next year, but Coach P decides to go. He gets the nod. Next year will be a qualification tourney or wrestle offs. Rooks, I would like your input for next year. We will keep this conversation going when we see eachother. The Indiana Outlaws did great.   18. I hope that everyone made it home safe. We had a great time in TN. Team ISWA Gold was beaten yesterday in our pool by a very tough Georgia Minion team (we got beat by 15). Then took a tough loss to Team Illinois United (the team that won it all) in the Gold bracket. BUT...... We did not give up and battled back today. At the end of the day we had the same Georgia Minion for the third and fouth place match. The line ups were the same. Team ISWA Gold came to wrestle! We beat them by 21 points. That is a 36 point swing in 24 hours. Each kid was given a job before their match and did it! The kids were very excited. The coaches and parents were VERY pleased. The kids showed alot of heart! The other teams did very well also. The ISWA is very proud of our youth wrestlers. This was the first time that the ISWA backed this trip and the results were awesome.   23. Great showing by the Indiana boys. It is a very exciting time for us here in Indiana. Every year we have more and more kids attending national events, and having a great deal of success. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE lets continue with freestyle and greco. Also continue to support our local clubs along with the very good academys which are becoming more and more prominent. Also lets take advantage of our RTCs and Greco nights. The ball is really rolling and the ISWA will do everything in our power to provide the very best opportunities posssible.
