  1. is this guy related to the regionrat? cousin? lover? both?
  2. would one of these fine schools allow you to ride shotgun with your daughter in english class? check it out! the worse thing they can do is to tell you "no".
  3. I'm piling on, bluegray. I do expect a barn burner. Ferguson is the real deal. His experience is equally countered by smith's. Reitz has an edge on wreslting room quality. On the other side, Franklin wrestles a brutal schedule, while reitz's is pretty weak.
  4. as one who is driven by facts, i mapquested the locations to measure the impact of the venue changes. from mt vernon to castle, it is 28.5 miles. from mt. vernon to central is 21.9 miles. this means that with the re-alignment, your mt. vernon fan is compelled to drive 12.4 additional miles to root for his team. if gas was $3.25/gallon this weekend, and your car got 25 miles to a gallon, it cost your average mt. vernon fan about $1.62 extra to attend the sectional. on the other side of the coin, it is 28.8 miles between gibson southern and castle; 18.2 miles between gibson southern and central. this saved your gibson southern fan $2.75 in gas this year! in these economically challenged times, princeton fans are also huge winners! The trip to castle is 34.9 miles, while it is only 24.4 miles to central. this saves the princeton wrestling fan $2.73. we all know that president obama likes the concept of "spreading the money around". what's wrong with extending that concept to the wrestling community? princeton and gibson southern fans: do your fair share! don't be selfish, share your bounty with the less fortunate among us. when you see a mt. vernon fan at semi-state, give him a warm pat on the back and slip him a buck. at bare minimum, kick in some cash on his concession stand purchase. if you do, you are still money ahead! everyone wins and utopia is acheived!
  5. gotta love the pizza deal at castle.... a piece as big as your face for three bucks.
  6. Bluebolt is back with a vengeance! When his claims and "facts" get blown up, he changes the subject. the sectionals now have parity; these are the facts and they are unchallenged. name one "pundit" or "bleacher rat" that says that area wrestling has not gotten much tighter! precisely who is arguing this point with you? central isn't good? jasper isn't good? heritage hills isn't good? who is saying that? you seem sore that your castle sectional is now incrementally tougher than what it was. last year, you were very angry when folks posted their predictions that the central sectional would landslide the castle sectional in terms of semi-state advancers. (see the 2012 rants: "it's about the six minutes", "you are putting down the kids", etcetera, etcetera) i do, however, like your new MD-hating tactic-- compare the current team to MD teams of the past. effectively, you are saying that your team(s) can't beat MD, so the new put down is to state that this team is not up to par....according to its own standards. how desperate and absurd! I await your fact-deprived, logic-free and unnamed sources rebuttal.
  7. Bluebolt, you always amaze and amuse. As far as "toughness" goes, Central sending 30 ss qualifiers to Castle's 26, makes Central the "tougher" sectional in which to advance. Castle having 9 champions to Central's 5 makes it the sectional with higher quality at the top. Based on the final results from the regionals, I beleive that most would agree that the Castle sectional will probably have more high finishers at state. That being said, whoever realigned the sectionals got it right. In the absences of wrestlebacks at semi-state, sectionals 32 and 31 are much more balanced, helping to ensure that the top kids advance. You may be right about another realignment. Many big names from the Castle sectional are juniors and seniors, while the Central sectional has a lot of youth infused into surging programs. You may be looking at a call for a re-balancing in a few years. I do love the "6 minutes they get" comment. That's one of my favorites.
  8. Is there anything less interesting than a regionaholic beating his chest and bragging about his geography?
  9. i don't understand your point. it only upset the balance in that it seems like the two sectionals are of somewhat equal strength, rather than one being much stronger than the other.
  10. you've got that right! tremendous parity in a very deep bracket...
  11. not champs, let's look at how many from each sectional will advance to semi state.
  12. i am speaking, of course, of the two primary pugilistic prognosticating palookas of the message board, bluebolt1 and wrestleman. gentlemen, what are your predictions? will the extra siac spice inject castle with enough horsepower to be supreme? or, will the pike/gibson/knox infusion allow central to reign? let's hear the numbers!
  13. fabio, Jr. wins by technical fall. it's over, sinic the great/danny bell. btw- were you being intentionally ironic with the moniker "sinic"? if so, great job sinic the great/danny bell.
  14. i heard that alex johnson bought some sushi from a gas station after sectionals. three hours later, he was explosive. and yes, he is defensive about it.
  15. If this is true, you should indentify yourself on this board and notify the ihsaa. otherwise, you are simply disparaging merrillville's program.
  16. bluegraypanther predictions from 1/25: "I see Kuhn and Johns winning in each weight." "I see at least one Gibson Southern kid stepping up and upsetting someone in the 106-126 weights." I see!
  17. Well said, formerwrestler. This is what we need more of-- unelected bureaucrats making vague rules and enforcing them, or not enforcing them, as they see fit. Someone mentioned that they are "serving notice". To whom? Did anyone see "cheater" defined? Do you beleive that the rules are vague unintentionally? No! Hopefully, the IHSAA is giving lip-service to this non-issue and have no intention of enforcing it. Otherwise, it will be a disaster.
  18. six cliches in five lines. not bad.
  19. Semi finals of 170. Shane Martin of NP gets a last second reversal and wins 22-20.
  20. Oh, BlueBolt... The half-baked logic, meandering points, cliches, trite expressions; in one post you touched all of the bases. Good to have you back!
  21. Remember the good old days when Reitz fans bashed Mater Dei and Castle instead of each other?
  22. team scores: md- 197 central- 148 castle- 147 reitz- 145 memorial- 132.5 north- 76.5 harrison- 54 bosse- 20
  23. can someone, with more patience than me, explain this thread to caliboy/182? someone who will put their singlet on one leg at at time, step up, make some noise and surprise some people? you must present it in a delicate fashion as to not offend his sensiblities. we "posers" must resolve to make it easier for caliboy to stay on this site. down with the evil y2! up with caliboy!
