  1. Garcia went 120--he should be there rest of season
  2. Wrestling can be so cruel!! One bad move and all your hard work is over--you get eliminated--maybe by a better guy--maybe not--as they say--life is not fair--just look at all those matches on ticket round--year in year out--some kids just deserve better!!
  3. The noise was ear shattering, as Garcia started his comeback against Simpson--the whole gymn became alive--all eyes were on that match--as the score started to change little by little. Was 6-2 Simpson going to third period, when Garcia got a takedown with about a minute to go in match--to make it 6-4--Garcia then cut him--7-4--another takedown as Simpson seem to be running out of gas--while Garcia was energized by the crowd--7-6 now--Simpson still winning, everyone now knows is a race against time as Garcia cuts him again--to make it 8-6, as the place is rocking!!! Garcia takes him down --yet again--to tie score at 8-8, with 20 seconds to go in third period, he rides him out to send match to overtime. Fifteen seconds into overtime--match is over--with yet another takedown by Garcia--the place was going wild--what an exciting match put on by both young men--good luck to both at state!!
  4. 103----Garza 112----Orsechowitz 119----Garcia 125----Ayala 130----Padilla 135----Padgzik 140----Wartman 145----Avalos 152----Smith 160----Green 171----Manning 189----Berry 215----Seaman 285----Davis
  5. Looks like Karl lost some weight--never looked better!!!
  6. Ranking Guy--still has a sense of humor--after all those hours of work--he used to come up with new rankings , after all those matches this past weekend--well--most were before the weekend. Glad you kept your sanity RG--YOUR DOING A HELL OF A JOB. But don;t quit this job to become a comedian!!!
  7. What 3 or 4 teams you think have a chance to beat the Dogs this year? I agree about last year--that everyone knew Mishawaka was going to win it. I feel same way about Crown Point this year--time will tell--but i stand by my earlier statement--no one comes closer than 23 points against Bulldogs this year!!
  8. I don;t see any team--come closer than 23 points against Crown Point--and i mean any team in state. This applies this coming Wednsday against Pirates, and rest of year in state tournament. Barring a few injuries, these Bulldogs look even stronger than Mishawaka did last year. We are proud of our region teams, and we will get another state team champion in 2011. Good luck to both teams!!
  9. You might be right--but how many will take second--that had no chance--if in other side of bracket--glad you can spell--that you can tell difference of a typo between seeds and seats. Is probaly not about who is seeded number one--but who is seeded--on opposite side of the number one seed.
  10. Was not complaining--was just venting--if everyone else on team got lower seeding than expected--thought maybe in Xmas spirit--you would had thrown us a bone--to makes us wrestling fans feel good about the seeding process. Just an old man venting--hoping maybe one went our way--maybe next year.
  11. By looking at the low seeds that the Merrillville wrestlers got--Garza, Garcia, Padilla, Sandufer, Peppers, even Berry who was seeded number 2--I am willing to bet--there was no one from Merrellville at seedings meeting.
  12. It cost my family of 3--close to $ 500 for weekend of state finals--was worth every penny--we have not missed a state final in last 10 years--as long as i am alive--don't intend to miss any in future.
  13. Janney never got a takedown--he got 2 escapes and one penalty point--for fleeing the mat--when he had the one leg--getting a penalty point is a far cry from a takedown..
  14. Too bad we wrestle 3 periods-not just 2. So score was 1-0 after 2--Final score was 8-0. Third period is when the good ones wear out their opponets...Mullins stay away from Tsitsis unless they change rules to just one or two periods.
  15. If he was hurt so bad--that he could not finish his match--cuz of injuries--why risk his future by sending him out hurt against the most dominat wrestler at state finals--no way he should had wrestled that badly hurt--no one can recover that fast from those injuries--( whatever they might have been ) that stopped him from taking the mat . I think for safety precuations--to protect the sport and protect the integrity--any wrestler that wins by injury default--should not be able to continue for rest of that tournament. We are lucky that Wills did not get hurt in championship match. Maybe some of those boos--will make changes in rules after wrestler get so hurt he can't finish his match. Remember, lets protect the kids above medals..
  16. A lot of wrestlers that were ranked got eliminated by other ranked wrestlers--so the numbers should be lot higher--best way to look at it--is how many unranked wrestlers made it to state in each weight class!! That rankings guy is good!! Regardless of Ivy school or local college--good is good!!!
  17. I will take some of your money--Old Dog--I will take Tsirtsis--over Mullins-- I made plenty last year on Tsirtsis over Quiroga
  18. If they were to wrestle this weekend--i think Mishawaka would win in a tough match--but there is still 3 more weekends of hard wrestling--Regionals--Semi State and Finals--where a lot of the wrestlers from both teams will have some tough matches!! The team that survives these 3 weekends with no minor or major injuries--will be the team to beat on the 27th!!
  19. As far as you saying--Napules--would had wrestled if swing matches had gone Villes way--makes no sense--since when the Jv from Ville was sent to face Hawkins at 119--Ville was winning 13-3--and reason he went out to wrestle Hawkins--was cuz Ville ALREADY KNEW PADILLA WAS GOING TO WRESTLE 125. I was as shocked as everyone--i thought maybe they were saving him for Jason--but now that we look back--Ville had no intentions of wrestling Napules that day--no matter what the score. ;D ;D : :
  20. ONE GOOD THING ABOUT jULIO--HE IS A QUICK LEARNER!! THANKS FOR FAST UPDATES, WE NEED MORE PEOPLE LIKE YOU!!
  21. Glad not everyone thinks like Julio--our sport would be in worse shape than it is now--as far as promoting it, in any way we can. If Crown Point is understaffed--why not move that Sectional in future years to another school that will get the help that will get the paperwork out- in time---like everyone else does. ??? ???
  22. How can people use the word " rebuliding " with Crown Point ? When they have all those studs back from last year championship year. If I was a coach--i would love to "rebulid" every year like Crown Point is doing this year. I will take Anthoney Hawkis, Jason Tsirtis, Dallas Schrug, Josh Flamme, Erich Roach, Tom Renn AND CALL IT A REBULDING YEAR--YIKES!!!! ??? ???
  23. Congrats Sarah to you and your dad--who has raised a great daughter!! Best of luck in and out of wrestling world-- from Adam Garcias grampa.
