  1. I find it interesting, on one hand Purdue schedules Northern Iowa University. I U chooses to line up these two institutions of higher learning, to tune for The BIG tournament every year. I think we are seeing a changing of the guard,of D1 schools, here in Indiana.
  2. High School classing is not in any way comparable to college class system. The decision to wrestle the best is up to the individule athlete as to go D1,D2,D3 and so on. The decision is not left up to the student in high school, but rather what class the school decides to participate in.
  3. People in the know, always look at national tournaments for prospective recruits for colleges. The High School record will only be used as a fall back. So this argument of this will dramatically improve the numbers in college is only speculation.
  4. I think IU will probably win 3 matches score PU 26- IU 15. Chalfant and Walsh will get pins, and Sheridan will get a decision. Welch could get beat by LaBlanc, and Shephard may beat Eppert. All others are a lock, I think. I've got Puuuuuuuu, with a few more bonus points.
  5. That heavyweight match really exposed Nelson's weaknesses. Did he even attempt a take down? Nelson is going to be pressed to produce an offense, not just counter, if he wants to beat this guy. I saw Coon pressed the action with a few attempts.
  6. Well Iowa match is 18th,BTN live. Penn Sun., but I would think Green vs. I.U. and DSJ of Iowa. Backup for Penn. Ok now tell me a prediction.
  7. Just what do you think the odds are of Taylor pinning Nebraskas J.Green tonight? On a side note, Did anyone read the article in the Bloomington paper? Why would his brother subject himself to the same problems Taylor gets every day in practice? Both brothers are coached by their father, who coaches his wrestlers to do everything Goldman teaches not to do. This year Taylor is taking the bull by the horns and ignoring the coaches. I guess this year we will find out how it turns out. But the I.U. coaches would be a red light for me if I were Taylors brother. Different styles and wrestling philosophy.
  8. Article today in (The Herald Times) Bloomington In. newspaper. I guess he was coached by his dad. And has a brother wrestling for Rider as a freshman.
  9. And you know who will be starting, no matter who wins in the room, or wrestle offs. That is if Dwayne is still the coach.(and I don't think he will be,by the way)
  10. This will be D. Goldmans',head wrestling coach at Indiana University, last year. So start recruiting a new coach now.
  11. Thanks Markio, for the info. I have not been to the Ford center yet,I think I will Jump on the new section of I-69 and go tomorrow. I've been to Roberts several times and always thought it was the best place to view wrestling, no bad seats. We'll see about Ford venue. Anyway thanks, good info.
  12. Robert, I might sound a little rough on you here but I dont recall ANY of the questions in your interview, that were ask by us as posters on this site. Whats up with that? No sense to listen to your program, I can get all that watered down information that you ask by talking to the men on the team. Out,Disco
  13. Penn I agree, thanks for the info. You reported the facts, Guys like Thornton? These are the trolls on the board. You have every right to report the facts as you see them.Again thanks, keep posting.
  14. Drooke, you didn't have to go there. If you have an opinion? take a stand here. Man up. Thats kind of weasel like.
  15. I haven't seen any questions yet, but if there was a question would you answer on this site? I have a question, what does a good wrestling program look like? Secondly, how do you define success in your profession of head wrestling coach at an elite Big Ten school? Thanks.
  16. The way a real decent wrestler could not control his emotions for all of his highschool career At Brown County High. I am speechless, for what his potential can be.
  17. Disco and southsidefan will be there 10:00 am? right?
  18. Sad sarto, another Y2 wanabe, all blab and no substance. Been dealing with this on the board for several years. Dingo gave up on the nonsense. To bad.
  19. southsidefan and disco will be there in the soft seats. rooting for all the Indiana wrestlers!
  20. The fact of the matter here is we have a boy who really did a right thing. And through afew people in the state of Iowa , keeping their heads buried in the sand, did a dis service to this boy. I think wrestling in Indiana is stooping to the same low blind eye attitude. The Indiana wrestlers need to stand up to their parents and coaches to bring a halt to the nonsense, as this brave boy from Iowa did.
  21. atwood1, your vision maybe right, it is a vision of good intent. But herein lies the problem, your P.S. statement seemed to take a very adult like, common sense approach to address the physical nature of a wrestling match. And if I was addressing the issue with like adults as you and I are, I think the same words would of spewed out of my mouth. You fail to comprehend the realities of 14- 18 yearold children. Sexuality is one of the driving forces of people this age, and to just turn a blind eye or sweep it under the rug as ( in the eye of the beholders problem) tells me you have your head in the sand. You not going to tell me 16 year olds are mature enough to decipher these feelings as adults. I can only hope IHSAA or outside athorities bring a halt to this nonsense.
  22. the topic of boys wrestling girls came up 4 years ago on the old discussion board, At that time I pretty much was in the minority about cross gender wrestling, i finally think most of the people are coming to their senses. This is and will always will be discusting . And I don't now any other way of putting it, For a father to allow his daughter to be grouped and whater else you call it is dispicable. Girls this age have no more common sense than a door knob, so the blame is not on the children here.I think this is an ego rush for any parent who has a daughter, with a little bit of athletic ability. For Gods sakes who in ther right mind would want there daughters to be subjected to this kind of physical contact at this age by the opposite sex, is beyond reason.
