  1. Posted by: hezzaballer As for the 140 wieght class, how could a #1 seed over a #3 seed be an upset??? The #1 seed Yorktown wrestler is seeded over a two time state quaifier and a one time state qualifier so he must be the favorite. Either that or the seedings must be "homespun". Especially if someone thinks #1 winning over #3 is an "upset". The "upset" in this class would be if #3 New Pal(one time state qualifier) would win over #2 Rushville(two time state qualifier). If Cody Harper at 140 is seeded #1 then so be it. I was going off of the current rankings at each weight class to determine my predictions, cause I had no idea who was seeded where. Also missed the fact that Duncan was at 140 or it would have been Harper upsetting two state qualifiers to win conference. ;D
  2. Whitaker 2-1 in overtime, Bennett is actually ranked #1 at 145.
  3. Where was he from, thats impressive for sure. I wish there was somewhere we could get information from past state, and I am aware of the information available on coaches board but it only goes back so far. When I wrestled in the early 90's I recieved a book that had the entire history of the state tournament and after loaning it out to numerous people at work I no longer have it, would be nice if anyone knew if these book was still published and where could I find it.
  4. Cody Harper of Yorktown over JR Corman of New Pal @ 140 is the upset of the day. Other possible upsets would be Stewart of Rushville over Jackson from Yorktown @ 112, Jake Jennings of New pal over Mosier from Yorktown @ 152 would be huge, don't see it happening though, and what will end up being the match of the day @ 145 Dulaney of Yorktown over Waldroup from New Pal @ 145. This is assuming these wrestlers end up in the finals, and are at these weights. Here's to a safe and good day of wraslin! Good luck to everyone.
  5. Whitaker @ 152 and King @ 215. Good luck to all!
  6. I know Howe tech falled everyone a couple of years ago, but what are some other dominationg performances. They can be for a year or career, one that stands out to mewas the individual who pinned all of his opponents in three years at state. I can't remember his name, but I am sure ancient elder could shed some light on his name. I would love for some of the older gentlemen on here to shed some light on some of the finals memories from the 80's and prior. These kids could learn a lot about the history of our sport in Indiana from you gentlemen. Thanks in advance for everyone's thoughts.
  7. Harley and David New @Wes-Del, Bryan Whitington and Jason Martin @ Randolph Southern, Josh Smith and Ben Nicely @ Yorktown
  8. Here is a couple from Southside: Tony Abbott and Marc Foreman, Justin Combs and Casey Bradley, Dan Whitcliffe and Jeff Pease
  9. You guys do such a great job with the individual and team rankings. Thanks for all the work and time you guys put into it.
  10. He is my pick to win it, so I to agree with AJ and Sean, this is Brooks year.
  11. Is that Y2 standing on the back of the train upset because he lost his phone in the snow and now has no way of posting! So says the great AJ, who by the way creates post in the college wrestling discussion and actually replies to himself. ;D So here it is, I'll say what others are thinking, you and Y2 both could use a break from your A.P.D. (addictive posting disorder) :o :o :o :o :P :P :P :P :P NOW THAT'S FUNNY! : ;D JAMES DEAN IS A LEGEND; kind of like you and Y2 ;D
  12. New Castle 103, 112 Merrillville 125 Ft. Wayne 112 Evansville 189

  19. This is something all wrestlers should have brought to their attention, this young man showed more heart than some will show in a lifetime. God bless you son and my family will remember you in our prayers.
  20. You and I can't take anything away from Harper, he is a great wrestler. Up to this year he had one loss if my memory serves me, yet he loses to Cashe and got pinned today, agreed he was beat by two excellent wrestlers, but two many people are gunning for him and I just don't think he'll get a 4th title. He is a great wrestler and I am not trying to take anything away from him, but I feel he really has a lot of pressure on him this year. Again just my opinion and I wouldn't bet against him.
  21. 1 Jason Tsirtsis 2 Anthony Quiroz 3 Conner Mullins
  22. I 2nd McMurray vs Mosier and I would give the edge to McMurray.
  23. 103: Jared Brooks over Brenden Campbell 112: Brandon Nelson over Anthony Hawkins 119: Justin Brooks over Camden Eppert 125: Jason Tsirtsis over Cashe Quiroga 130: Frankie Porras over Josh Harper 135: Eric Roach over Taylor March 140: Steven Sandefer over Tony McGinley 145: Daniel Young over Zach Corpe 152: Kyle Mosier over Sean McMurrY 160: Mark Myers over Briar Runyan 171: Michael Duckworth over Braden Atwood 189: Marcus Shrewsbury over Drew Graber 215: Nathan Cleveand over Billy Baker Hwt: Adam Chalfant over Alex White These are just my opinion and you know what they say about opinions.
