  1. Very nice introduction Johnny. I will definately be following your fight career in the future. It sounds like you have kept busy with 40 fights in 4 years and have had quite a bit of success. Who do you primarily train with? When and who do you fight next? If you happen to pop in from time to time would you be open to answering some "Ask the Fighter" questions? It is from another thread I started here.
  2. I think P-tax has a very good chance to AA.
  3. I think the problem with Alex as a freshman was his not being able to redshirt. He was thrown into Div 1 wrestling and its long grueling season. Althought he showed glimpses of his brilliance that year he suffered many losses. Its not until he was redshirted last year that he is able to put it together. He finally appears to mentally have his confidence back. His problem previous to this year was lapses in his conentration and bone-headed mistakes. While the initial redshirt was on Zalesky I don't blame him for Alex not wrestling up to his potential. Same for M*. And I'm a huge IOWA fan.
  4. Hey Rat what are your orders like at the mill? What's the projected outlook?
  5. During the IU - Wabash duals earlier this season I was amazed at the amount of children in attendance. Albiet those kids seemed to be with area coaches and family members. . was sorely dissapointed with the high school age kid attendance. I know if I was a coach in the near vicinity I would have MADE all of my kids attend. lol
  6. A little less friction when going for the takedown. You can literally glide across the mat. I know its minute but look at swimming and its uniforms.
  7. I hate that. I've had Dish for prolly 12 years. I've tried to upgrade to receive Big Ten Network and Espn U, as well as Versus. But, they say I can't with my hardware (they said it was to old). Which is terrible cause they won't upgrade me for free.....no new dvr receiver..as well as channels that I want..I guess I need to switch to Direct. Kinda silly if you ask me.....they will give that stuff to a new customer ......but a fella that has been with them for over ten years....no.
  8. Gosh Pin I had no Idea I didn't mean to put you on the spot about Hooters. I was just playin'. Congrats on Seminary..........I'm married to a PK. Lets keep the suggestions downtown shall we. That is where we will be afterall.
  9. Why in the world would you ever go there? In what capacity do you volunteer..that is very commendable. Sweet OTR, if Dicks is still open that will prolly be my destination.
  10. That is why I have Hodges winning 189 he beat both Salas (dec) and Konrath (pin) last year on Sat. He is smooth.
  11. Holy Cow!!! I hadn't checked in on the old board in prolly 1-1/2 months. Crickets...........freakin Crickets and Tumbleweeds!!! I was shocked. I thought alot of folks would still be posting there.......Wow!! I guess it truly is an informational site now.
  12. P.F. Changs is located at circle centre mall. The lettuce wrap appetizers are fantastic. The prices are pretty decent too. Two years ago at State I went to Dick's as well. Great food and the adult beverages made the time fly. lol. Is Dick's still there?
  13. I believe he meant to bump the page........or +1 his post count.
  14. Is he still able to work out with the team at all in any capacity? As a possible coach will he be able to roll with the kids? It's good to hear that he is still in school though.
  15. I believe he is at 84. Because at Midlands I thought he and Dolly were in the same bracket. Is Corpe at 174?
  16. I 'll take a stab at it. 125 - escobedo 133 - humphrey 141 - tsirtsis 149 - Lawrence 157 - kinser 165 - howe 174 - 184 - dolly 197 - 285 - larimore I see possible national champs at 125, 133, 141, and why not 285. AA's at 157, 165, and hopefully 184. Not bad. 4 champs and 7 AA's. Too bad we can't claim p-tax. Or else it could be 8 AA's. Whattya think?
  17. Good point J n B. I'm interested in the med.redshirt question as well. Its a testament to his skill level and heart that he can still compete and win at the Div. 1 level with a bum shoulder.

    Ask a Fighter

We have so many fighters from Indiana with wrestling backgrounds it would be great to have an Ask a Fighter thread. Anyone interested in some Q and A? Ex. Specific training, first fight, different organizations, advice for people just starting out, stories. Idk just tossing out some ideas. Whattya think?
  19. Coach Peck you had me laughing out loud with your question and comment. Good stuff.
  20. What bout u? Naw man just playin. Introduce yourself and welcome to the room.
  21. Ima guessin if lil tsirtsis has a stellar tournament he just might make it to the big dance. I am going out on a limb though...please keep that in mind.
  22. I post primarily from a blackberry. I don't see a lot of things offered on this site. Anyone have any advice how best to set up a phone to see optimal features?
