  1. I expect one reason there are too many super duals on Saturday's on the schedules and not enough basic dual meets... We need to promote the school fan base. There are a very small amount of fans that will follow a team if it means only all day saturday events during the season. They get burned out real quick. We also have to look at the schools that had a down year that normally that bring a large following. The MD crowd was clearly down in numbers. We also cant compare our numbers aganst over states that are classed. The Indiana state tourney draws a good crowd compared to others around the nation.
  2. Why did Matt Guerra default to Barlow in the 3rd/4th place match? Injury?? Anyone know?
  3. They are all posted on the ISHAA web site.
  4. Extra6, I agree that Cole should be ranked above Rassbach on the Eville rankings. I think he beat him earlier 4-3. Oaks has losses to Rassbach, Weekly, Ruegar, Heistand (twice) and the Holt kid. Vanhorn should slide in above Rassbach droping Oaks off the list as he has not been there all year and could really care less at this point. I was very surprized to see him added.
  5. Extra6 seems a little bias on the Franklin side. While the next match may be different as Cole is very good and I expect him to go deep in the tourney you must have not been watching the same match I was in both the Oaks and Milton events. Cole took Oaks down late in the first with a bear hug for a 2-0 match after several shots from both wrestlers. Oaks reversed Cole from the bottom after a couple of resets and caught him on his side with a head and arm. Cole fought for about 15 seconds and then went limp. The match score was 2-2 and Oaks was never on his back in a scoring position. In the Milton match I would be surprized if we dont see the same result. There is no disrepesct for Bowman but it would be an upset for Matt to get caught.
  6. Nothing against Lovitt as he is a very good and I expected him to be there on Saturday somewhere in his career. However, you have to be there at the end to get the prize. There's a great deal in the way of making it through the season let alone making it to Saturday night. Let's appalude those that made the grades, kept their cool, show up to practice, kept healthy, fought thru injury, made good choices and had the juice to bring it all season! While a Saturday showing is the cherry on this pie, these men have already shown they have learned the life lessons that will support them the rest of their time on this planet.
  7. It will be interesting to see how seeds pan out at the end.
  8. It looks like Lafayette got all the love with the seedings and the Avon and the BBurg get none.. One first seed for the 19 pounder and then 103,125,135 all with 5ths and 140 has a 6th. WOW....
  9. Heistand lost to Holt's Ben Metthiesen. The score was 8-6 ??? or so. Hiestand was up 5-1 early in the match. Metthiesen is ranked 7th overall in the Michigan power poll 3rd in Michigans Div 1 Heistand beat Oaks 10-6, Sheperd and the JV from Franklin (Vanhorn went out of the tournment due to being choked out in the Brownsburg match)) Overall Yorktown was very dominant as a team.

  12. Brownsburg 5-0 Danville 4-1 Good young team with lots of promise Brownsburg 62 Terre Haute South 10 Brownsburg 37 Martinsville 31 Close match due to match ups. Brownsburg 81 Hammond Clark 0 Brownsburg 60 Edgewood 17 Brownsburg 39 Danville 23 119 was a stacked weight with 3 ranked wrestlers Fuller, Fisher, Molloy (Everyone got at least one loss) Notables Brownsburg 119 #11 Fuller over #5 Molloy 135 Oaks 5-0 on the day with 5 falls Martinsville 119 Fisher over Fuller 130 Bratton ( looked solid) 189 Schoolcraft ( looked solid) 5-0 Danville 112 solid 119 Molloy 4-1 on the day 125 Jordan Judy (Wrestling well)( up weight from last year) Edgewood 140 Jeremy Sayers
  13. Kolb was the one DQed at Greencastle and should have went some distance last year. I would expect him to show up at semi-state or more. Him and Alfs have split there matches. They both will bring some noise. Cole Brandt has been at AVON for a while. He has had some studs in front of him the last couple years and just broke the lineup. He looks real good and seems to be getting better over the season.
  14. Wittman- Acosta match went to overtime... 4 -4 with Acosta getting the takedown. They have split matches this season. The first match went to Wittman. Wittman went on to third with falls all under 30 sec. The Oaks- Acosta match was 12-1 in the finals
  15. These rankings for the most part are based on your past state performance plus national results. Camden is a multitime place winner at the national level and at least a two time junior AA at Fargo. That drives these rankings for the most part. The continual national exposure is a hot item. I am a little surprized that Wright is not a little higher as he was a cadet national champ last year.
