  1. They've been emailed to Joe at 5:40am CST on 1-27-09, so he should get them up soon.
  2. True dat! If you're a contributor/lurker on this board and college-aged and considering a field to go into for your career, I offer some advice: if you want a work environment that has some attractive females, the laboratory setting isn't it. Never has been, never will be. Awood1 is dead on with that assessment.
  3. I admit you have to have some suspension of belief in order to enjoy "Lost," but I cringe everytime I see a CSI or CSI-like show which takes great license with laboratory analytical equipment. You simply do not throw whatever in a machine, press a button, and instantly have results. I should know, I work in the analytical field and there's way more to it than that. You ever wonder why you get hospital or lab test results at a minimum of 48 hours later (usually more)? Because that's how it works! So, if we hold your CSI show up to the magnifying glass of reality, it stands up no better than "Lost."

  7. The Riley/NP dual will not be rescheduled for this season. A suitable date for both teams is not feasible at this late point in the season. I just got word from the NP athletic office about this. So, no annual catfight between the Wildcats and Cougars this year.
  8. It's school policy and depends on the corporation. For us, no school=no practice in any way, shape, or form. We used to be able to practice on a snow day, particularly the day before a meet, but our relatively new boys basketball coach ruined that for us. >
  9. Riley/NP's dealing with that scenario right now. Personally I'm OK with it since our JV season is all but over and the focus shifts to varsity solely, but making weight mid-week can be problematic. I believe the Duneland Conference has duals on Wednesday before sectionals, or they have in the past.
  10. I just got an email from the AD's office and it looks like 1-28 is the best option, although that is the week of sectionals and Riley may not want to do that then or have something else scheduled possible. FYI: the week of the 19th is not an option for NP because Monday is the NSC seeding meeting and Tuesday is a dual against Plymouth. To schedule the match then would mean leaving only two days of practice before conference.
  11. Sadly, yes it is. We've only practiced on Monday, school was cancelled yesterday, and all activities are cancelled today. We'd never have anyone make weight with just one practice, and the weather forecast is looking bleak for tomorrow as well. Keep in mind, we are a rural school for the most part and in some areas snowplows are just a myth, like Sasquatch.
  12. You know, for fun we should all spend some time voting for gymnastics as well and get it to the point where it's beating basketball as well. ;D ;D ;D
  13. Due to the incredibly bad weather and school/practices for NP getting cancelled this week. We're trying to get the make-up date scheduled right now.
  14. Not looking so good in LaPorte County right now, either.
  15. Wrestling now at 45% due to the wonderful Chicago voting feature awood discovered.
  16. I doubt it would warrant being created as the manufacturer probably wouldn't be able to move enough units. You'd be catering to a relatively small demographic worldwide. With that said, I'd love to see it nevertheless. With so many crappy games on the market this one would be interesting. It's a shame when amatuer wrestling can't get a sniff, but you can go to Amazon.com/UK and get the EA Sports Cricket game.

  18. I do, but that doesn't automatically guarantee items sent to me make it there in a timely fashion if at all. There is a flaw in our system, no doubt. However, I cannot be the only coach to have this sort of problem.
  19. For lay coaches (of which I am one), mailings should be sent to the residential address. I don't know about other institutions, but anything sent to me at the high school has a better than even chance of not seeing the light of day or I will get the letter long after the information is still relevent.
  20. At Conseco it used to be that you'd have to take the escalator up to the second level and then come down a flight of stairs to find the suite level. It was situated in a corner the last I knew.

  22. That sort of short-sighted, anachronistic thinking is just one reason why I haven't joined the association in 4 or 5 years. Or it could just be that I don't want to be part of any club that would have me as a member.
  23. What sort of impact do you think the demise of the IHSWCA site do to the association overall? At a minimum it will impede communication for the members, but there have to be other ramifications I'm not thinking of.
  24. Comfort shouldn't be an issue since the introduction of the Cliff Keen Tornado headgear and its subsequent imitators (Brute Zero-G). Allegedy this not-so-new headgear allows for better hearing, but I've yet to see it work with my wrestlers. :
