  1. OH YEAH, I remember that...it was sweet...and yes, he was a beast...but such a nice young man!
  2. You're welcome! Speaking of Feeder Programs...the Jr. Wildcat team is wrestling @ Bloomington this week-end...I know they ran into Perry Meridian & Mishawaka up there last year...should be a good one!
  3. Ran across this article in my archives. Thought it was worth revisiting...great pictures! Shows the real heart and soul of Mater Dei (the feeder program)...all those kids just waiting for their chance to wear the red & gold. http://www.courierpress.com/news/2008/Jan/25/the-mater-dei-matrix/
  4. Glad you posted this. I caught it right away too...but again, thanks for the efforts!
  5. An excuse to stay in Friday night...I'm gonna hear me some wrasslin! Thanks for posting the link.
  6. MD Wins again...but there are definitely some weights worth watching...should be some good match-ups. 103: Kuhn ® 112: Adler (MD) 119: Johns ® 125: Henderson (MD) 130: Weinzapfel (MD) 135: Weinzapfel (MD) 140: Simms (MD) 145: Zenthoefer (MD) 152: Toss up... 160: Easterling (MD) 171: Wedding (M) 189: Price (NP) 215: Ruggeri (MV) 285: White (MV)
  7. I know I shouldn't say this...but when I think of these two schools, I usually think of football. That being said...always love to see (or better yet hear) wrestling broadcasted. Thanks for posting the link Dan.
  8. I'm guessing we'll just have to wait until Saturday to find out who's going to take it (but my money's on MD). Wrestlebacks can definitely make the difference, so I hope all the teams come ready to wrestle. Good luck to all those participating!
  9. Way to go Hunter! Never let the fear of failing keep you from playing the game...dream big and you can do ANYTHING!!!
  10. Great...I was just trying to find them when I saw this post. I'll check back this afternoon...and THANKS!
  11. Agreed. It's shaping up to be a very exciting day of wrestling!
  12. This is such a heartwarming story. It takes a lot of character to step out of your self to help fulfill someone else's dream. Kudos for being such a class act!
  13. You're right. He got 3rd as a freshman, placed (I'm not sure where as a Sophomore), got knocked out his Jr. year maybe 1st round at State, and was a State Champ his Senior year. He was varsity all 4 years. I think there are several kids on MD's JV team that have a lot of talent (Appell, May, Maurer...to name a few), and it looked like Reitz had a few tough JV guys too.
  14. No one can blame it all on the draw. In fact, like we've seen time and time again, ANYTHING can happen in wrestling! No one can blame a kid for his "draw", that's , as they say, "just the way the cookie crumbles!"
  15. Talent is what gets you there....that being said...the luck of the draw is always a factor. It's what you do when you've got talent and get a "bad" draw that matters.
  16. You're right...anything can happen...just think about all those Friday night upsets @ Conseco each and every year! You gotta love wrestling
  17. This book sounds awesome. I wish more schools did something like this. With all the bumps & substitutions, it's hard to pin down who is wrestling at what weight some time. It would be nice to have a list of not only the Varsity line-up, but the back-up/JV wrestlers as well.
  18. My brother went to this camp. Said it was worth every penny.
  19. I too was upset when I picked the C&P and the only wrestling pics/articles were of a wrestler biting another wrestler. At least they had the results of Saturday's tourneys in the Scoreboard section...which is more than they've done for the last 3 weeks of area wrestling.
  20. That's very cool...got inspiration from the wrestling room, huh? Can't wait to see that room ;D
  21. I always thought it was a school district rule. I think in Evansville, if the EVSC says school/practices are cancelled, then that's the final word. I could be wrong.
  22. I always think about MD's Scott & Mallory...Scott gets hurt right before SIAC, Mallory steps in and places 6th at State...gotta love that kind of "back-up"....
  23. Someone posted this last year on the site and I framed it for my son. Thanks for the post...I gave you a wahoo for that!
