  1. Of course not, football is a TEAM sport with 22 guys on the field at the same time. Wrestling is an individual act with your points going to a team score. In wrestling you could wrestle a bigger school at least for the fact that everyone's gonna get a match. Why would you want to wrestle another small school that possibly has forfeits in weight classes where you have kids? Where does it end with "class wrestling"? Do you not wrestle small schools like Delphi or Union County because they have studs that would pulverize the kids in their weight classes on your team?
  2. Agreed very good match, Brandt was in desperation mode with under 10 secs to go. Dale got behind for final 2 after failed takedown.
  3. Got to Avon to see the Hoosier Crossroads Conference. LOTS of good teams and wrestlers.
  4. I think we all realize that wrestling in Indiana is better than Kentucky from top to bottom. Also bagging on Kentucky makes for some the best jokes ever, however if anybody has ever seen some of the guys that the Kentucky teams bring to the Mater Dei tournament you'd know there best can hang with anybody.
  5. You don't say, Hitchings is the real deal. He'd probably be THE favorite.
  6. How'd Browner get his two? I'm guessing he took him down, was it early or late in the match?
  7. I thought Duckworth was going 189. If 171 wouldn't Smith or Reese be a good match?
  8. Thought Bill was at 160, would've been nice to see a Bill/Willis match.
  9. 2009 Beast of the East December 19 & 20, 2009 Bob Carpenter Center
  10. 171 has just as many state placers as 160 also coupled with the fact that Stein, Weiss , Bratcher, Morin and Dale moved up to 171 , I'd say 171 is way tougher than 160. 160's been down since Howe left. Sure B. Runyan was a stud as is McMurray but its no wonder Vlahos moved down to 160.
  11. I saw on the rankings updated thread that Lafayette Harrison has 26 matches already. Some schools dont even have 10 yet. In everyones opinion, does the number of matches matter in a year? Do college coaches care much about overall record?, or is it solely where you finish in Feb. at Conseco? Just curious what everyone thinks.
  12. Rassbach over NP Fall, Hall over NP dec
  13. Anybody have New Pal versus Zionsville individual scores?
  14. Saw on the results forum that Perry defeated Trinity Ky by the score of 79-0. Is this the Kentucky champion Trinity from Louisville? If so, that is extremely impressive considering Trinity had several Kentucky state champs and national quality guys like Hitchings (171).
  15. Did not see Secrest ( Cloverdale) listed in the results? Is he wrestling, or was he a senior last year?
  16. Saw on results page that Pike 171 and 189 defeated NC. Did Smith (NC) wrestle and if so what weight class?
  17. I didnt see Grimes name on IU's roster, is he still there?
  18. I'd have to agree, I keep seeing posts about what great battles they will have this year. But Saturdays match showed no indication that they would even be close. What about the takedown they didnt give Jones? I cants see Jones having any problem this year, Richards is tough, but only a Soph., not ready yet.
  19. Look at the competition, this is a high level guy. Nobody there was state-quality.
  20. results page says D. Campbell went 2-0 at 171/189 for Harrison. Makes you think Vlahos went 160/171, doesnt it?
  21. I saw Harrison was going to the Lebanon Duals Jan. 9. Is Harrison going to Lebanon or Avon?
