If a coach wants to be cocky about his own wrestlers......well let him be cocky! I am sure it was all out of fun....and didn't mean any harm by it....besides, the Yorktown Coaches are all Class Acts! Tonights match between the South Adams Middle School and Hartford City has been canceled due to weather.

You mean a school that has hosted a sectional for umpteen many years still has a basketball game scheduled that night? You would think they could find another Saturday night to have a game. Did I say that out loud! lol

Admittance to Sectional is an issue we (several of the Jay County Sectional Coaches, not all but several) discuss every year as we enter the door. I can understand that a host school needs to ensure they maximize profits at the door. An event like Sectional takes alot of time and funds to run things smoothly. Our team received an envelope with 19 tickets in it. That is not enough by my numbers.... First of all, you have 14 Wrestlers = 14 Tickets Next you should get 14 Alternates = 14 Tickets (Many teams may not have a back up for each wrestler) I would settle for only 2 Coaches = 02 Tickets (Many teams have more than 2 Coaches) I would settle for only 1 Scorekeeper = 01 Ticket (Many teams have at least 2) And finally a Bus Driver................ = 01 Ticket Total Tickets that should be issued to each team = 32! AT THE LEAST, regardless of your team size. If you have fewer alternates.....then the teams extra coaches and managers could use the tickets.....of course, the host school would be out $585.00 (for a 9 team Sectional) if they issued 32 tickets to each team.....I guess those ribbons they give to the Champions are getting expensive! FROM THE WINTER BULLETIN: (They say you only get 19 Tickets) IV ADMISSIONS Actual competing contestants, student manager, coach, assistant coach, athletic director and principal shall be admitted free. Alternates who do not participate must pay admission. .......Who's to say your Alternate will know if he/ she is going to wrestle when they get to the ticket taker at the door. .......I would think any Athletic Director or Principal who only shows up to wrestling events when Sectional starts should not be allowed in.......... for free that is......(Our administration by the way always show up to just about every wrestling event, they even reimburse wrestlers who have to pay to get in!) .......Does the host school JV team (Alternates) have to buy a ticket, Probably not. I just think the IHSAA needs to take a look at this issue. Oh and one more thing.......Host Schools should not be allowed to have a Home Basketball game the night of Sectional or Regional and try a rush through an important event such as Sectional for a regular season Basketball game!

I am a big fan of Flowrestling....The entire Flowrestling Team has done a great job promoting our sport to the world! I think it would only benefit our kids to get this exposure, there are some smaller colleges and university's that may not have the funds to send out scouts all over the country, with Flo, they can watch our kids and maybe offer them the chance to compete at the next level....More Indiana wrestlers, competing in College only brings back more competitive kids who want to get involved in coaching, making their kids more competitive....It's a win-win.....How much money does the IHSAA really make off of State Finals DVD's? With this age of technology, every Mom and Dad have become Movie Producers, with a computer, digital camera and video....they usually make their own videos of their kids. My vote is YES! Let Flowrestler in.....and lets show the Country that Indiana Wrestling is not only up and coming.....but an undeniable problem that the rest of the country needs to worry about!

ok...a call to the President might not make a difference.....but he is all about change! maybe we need to send him some tickets to the State Finals....he'd change his mind real quick.... which is the better sport! lol

I had the Iowa/ Illionis match saved on the DVR and just got the chance to watch it yesterday....Dennis was very impressive! and when I heard he never won a high school state championship, WOW....hard work pays off, some guys just peak at different times I guess! Although being apart of a National CHampionship Team, would Trump any State Title I think!

Maybe it?s a Sectional conspiracy! Maybe all the head coaches took an oath at the seed meeting to keep the brackets under lock and key until the morning of sectional?..and then once each coach went back to their team, he made each one of his wrestlers take the same oath not to release any information, and then??each wrestler gave the same speech to his parents, friends and family members not to release any information?..Surely a Newspaper over there has got the info??UNLESS they are involved too?..Do we need to put a call in to the President!

SAD....too SAD, that not one coach from Andrean, Boone Grove, Crown Point, Hanover Central, Kankakee Valley, Lowell, North Newton or Valparaiso wants to promote our great sport.....Maybe none of these teams know about IndianaMat.com yet.......Y2, do we need to start running commercials on TV, maybe some radio broadcasts! lol
