  1. It would have been better last year, but I have a biased opinion on that. Actually I know Nick woukld have loved to be able to go at it with Brandon every day. He will have Danny Williams to go at it with him, that should help some. That, and his dad is no slouch either....lol Good luck coach. I might be there to watch you guys go at it as long as Trine does nto have a meet that day, and Nick is able to crack the line up there.
  2. Unless they have moved since then, I know he was on the same middle school team as my son way back in the day. So yes he does live in Warren township.
  3. No offense to Warren, but I'm not sure how anyone can make the argument that he is transferring from Cathedral, a top wrestling team, to Warren for athletic reasons. No offence taken, if you read down the list, you will see that I raised the same question before I found out he was in fact going to enroll at WC this year. I would think that the private schools might be having a hard time this year keeping some of thier students. With the economy the way it is, there might be alot of people leaving that would otherwise wish to remain there. I have no idea why Brandon is comming back to WC, I am just glad he is. He will be a welcome addition to the team.
  4. Nice job Sean, that is quite an accoplishment.
  5. Congrats to Trent, he has always acted with class and dignity, and he is well deserving of this award. We in this state are lucky to have people like him throughout the state.
  6. Thanks AJ, however while I have the utmost respect for Marines, I never served in uniform. On a side note, it does seem that the skuttle butt is correct. I have heard from a few sources that Brandon has asked for, and recieved his academic transfer from Cathederal, and will be attending WC next year. This is without question a fantastic addition to WC and the wrestling team. I would venture to guess that Mr Tim Wright will be involved as a coach as well, which will have a very good lasting impact on the school, and will provide Head coach Danny Williams a great coach on the sidelines with him. Welcome home Brandon.
  7. Brandon is a good kid, I dont see him getting kicked out of any school in the state. I will listen to the skuttle butt and as soon as I hear something from someone in a position to know for sure I will let ya know.
  8. Great article, lots of good info, and I loved the discription of Michael Johnson-Jones as a manchild. Very accurate.
  9. Ok, why would Brandon leave Catherderal a team with a legitimate shot at getting to team state, and go to WC, a team that in 3-4 years if Coach Williams gets things going could be a yearly contender, but at the current time is in no where near the position that Cathederal is in? I dont know if he is or he is not, but wiuth this being his senior year, why would he. Also, last year he was rumored to be going to Warren as well, and the year before. Not to mention that his dad is still a coach over at CHS.
  10. Hey Joe, dont sweat being 30, just remember the older you get, the better you were.
  11. Nice work, this site just keeps getting better and better. And Joe, dont worry about the big 30, it is not that big a deal.
  12. Well, not to get off topic, but Danny Williams was named the head wrestling coach at Warren Central today in the Indy Star. It has been known for awhile that he was going to be the choice, but today it was made public through the press. Danny is a great addition to the Warren Wrestling program, and if he is the shot in the arm that the program needs, it will be great for both the school, and Danny himself.
  13. I would expect to see a little of both.
  14. wow coach, thats alot of spots to fill at the last minute, good luck, and good luck down at Disney.
  15. ◦Why do fish live in saltwater? ◦Pepper makes them sneeze.
  16. Wow! You consider losing on Friday night, and losing on Saturday night to be equal? Amazing! It's great to be the champ, attitudes like "if you're not first, you're last" are terrible for wrestling. I have to agree with you on the point about the attitudes in wrestling. There have been many tournaments that I have taken my son to that I knew he was not going to win. The effort was put on wrestling well, and seeing where you stack up against some tough kids. When he 1st got started, going 2-2 at local events was a huge success. As the years went on he and I would have been upset with not being in the last match of the day. It does not diminish thew kids that go 2-2, but is a reflection of where you are. We all need to make sure that we set, and help them set realistic goals. For some that will be winning it all for others it will be making it out of the 1st 2 rounds with a win.
  17. Obviously I am biased, but I have to go with Trine.
  18. Yes, that was him. He wrestled the championship match on Friday night against the Lake Central kid(I think his name was Mora). Interesting fact...I thought championship matches were wrestled on Saturday nights... Thats what happens when you get a returning champ that breaks his ankle in december and ends up just wrestling enough to advance through the tourney. He was 4th cmming out of semi-state and wound up in a draw against a #1 on friday night. It is a bit unfair, but it is the way the system works.
  19. 1- Q nor J appear on the Pediodic table 2- Leave it to Beaver is the 1st show to air part of a toilet, in 1957 they aried the tank portion on a toilet. I think "All in the Family" was the 1st to let us hear a toilet flushing. However what is truely odd is that the 6 Brady kids shared a bathroom, and no toilet was ever seen. As a chemistry teacher I feel obligated to say that J is the only letter not appearing on the periodic table. Q appears in element 114, Uuq which is ununquadium. Dang it, the table I saw only showed the Uu, not the Q

  23. I would suggest selecting a hotel room on 21st street. They are close to the school. Also, since there is no food in the fieldhouse at Warren, bring a coolewr, they have tables set up in the school lunchroom for this. Each team usually gets 2-3 for the teams food and drinks. Also, we try to keep to a minimum the amount of "colored drinks" brought into the fieldhouse, so pack lots of water. There is plenty of parking around the school, so that will not be a problem. Also, there are quite a few selections within a 5-10 minute drive for your dinners. As far as the wrestling is concerned, plan on seeing some outstanding wrestlers from all over the country. The kids might be a stud here in Indiana, but they will get thier eyes opened by some of the kids they see. Make sure you let them know that no matter how they fare, making the team is a great accomplishment, and if they end up with a winning record that is a very good thing. Congrats on having so many kids make the team, you are gonna love watching them in this event.
  24. What area of the state are you in. I know that the CIB here in indy will allow fund raising at the events in Lucas Oil Stadium, if you want to work at a consession stand more people, and work, but more money, or some of the beer portals, less people, less work, but not as much cash. We ran a consession stand one year, but it took about 15 people at each event. The beer portals only required 3-4 people, and we found out that beer drinkers tip more then food eaters. You might try a golf outting, Find a nice course near you, talk to them about donating some time for this, and sell foursomes for $ 200- 300 apiece, plus 50/50 pots, selling tickets to closest to the pin, longest putt, those sorts of things. You can sell mulligans, and maybe a grass skirt for one of the guys on the team to wear and allow him to hit from the ladies tee. All sorts of things will work, the only limit is your imagination on how to get the cash from the golfers pockets, to the clubs account in a fun and interesting manner.
  25. Dont the Patriot fans get upset about this????? ;D
