i really wanna respond AGAINST cathedral here as i will proudly say that i despise cathedral in all sports not just wrestling(any of the volleyball fans can attest to that)...but they are not doing anything wrong in my opinion if something so subtle can bother you man, that's sad... also the injury time thing, again they are not breaking a rule you do not need to prove you are hurt, its a broken system but it has to be implemented to ensure safety, if someone wants to take advantage they can, sure you can hope karma doesn't bite you in the butt, but you wont get penalised. ps. cathedral tries so hard to be NOTRE DAME

I'll tell yah what, does it seem real peculiar to anyone else that 90% of wrestling Illness comes right before the postseason? I swear I only get sick the week of or before sectionals in HS and now Regionals. Yes i have a monster of a cold which is drastically affecting my practices but luckily I have teamates that are still pushing me to get ready for Sunday. No exscuses, just find a way to win thats what Coach Nelson has been saying for the past year, and i plan on doing it. State was this past weekend and sadly i could not join the festivities. I will tell you that I was shocked by all the "upsets" but after thinking about it I should not have been. Like i said in my last post once you get there ANYTHING can happen. You have to go out and give it 110% and when its all over you have to hopefully have more points its that simple. I would like to congratulate all those who got to wrestle in Conseco I know it is quite an honor to be in front of 12,000 screaming fans. I was disappointed my friend was unable to win his 4th state title, but the grit and determination through his injury made me gain EVEN more respect for him than i already had. He will be a force to reckon with at MSU I'm calling it now. Steve, i just wish i could dance like you, and Trent man im glad you got over that hump and had a great career, maybe in the future we can wrestle on the same team again Team state is this weekend andI am going to throw out what i believe to be the finals, I know Snyder will hate me but I like CP and winner of Mish Cathedral, I think its too close to call that one but I am leaning more towards cathedral. I hope if anything this bulletin board material will excite the cavemen and i pains me to even think of picking against him but i promised to give a much more solid view of what I believe. For someone to say this is not a down year for mater dei is an idiot, Im sure they are pumped they arnt at state DOWN YEAR And no Castle will not win State, Top 4 would be good but they are not a contender this year

Computer Science is my major

Here Nick Ill join ya. Since this is my first post I will divulge some personal information to give you a slight idea of my personality and such. First off, for those who do not know me, my name is Nick Wiesjahn, I am 20 years old and currently wrestle at 125 lbs. for the University of Findlay Roughnecks. I attended Mishawaka High School and had a great career there placing 4th and 3rd my junior and senior year. I have always had a passion for wrestling since Tom Dolly handed me a flier for the Michiana Wrestling Academy in 3rd Grade. I have wrestled every since then improving almost every year. In the summers I help coach at the Mishawaka Wrestling Club. I love watching the youngin's go out and compete and have success. It is easily the greatest feeling in the world... Now to the blog This blog is going to basically be me discussing wrestling in general. What I am doing, thinking, and feeling. Also what everyone else is doing and what I think about it. At times this will get very opinionated and if you are offended I apologise but you are able to disagree. Ok starting for real 9 days... That's how long until the Midwest Regional, our National Qualifying Tournament. To qualify for nationals as a red shirt freshman would be a great way to end the year because once your there anything can happen. My season to this point has not been the greatest, I don't know off the top of my head but I believe my record is 7-19ish possibly more losses... granted we wrestle a real tough schedule I still do not enjoy losing in any way, shape, or form. So know it comes down to 9 days to improve and improve and maybe be able to pull it off and make this season, as bad as it may be for me, end on a high note. I have been working harder in the room perfecting my "favorite" moves and working on a few of the areas that I struggle, pretty much any position that is not neutral. I have been asking Coach Nelson a lot of questions to help improve my wrestling and try to prepare for March 1st.. This weekend is also huge for many Indiana Wrestlers, I will be listening intently hoping that my cavemen can get it done at Conseco. One of my best friends Josh Harper is going for his 4th title and I really hope he gets it, he is a hard worker and is very deserving and capable of winning. He knows what he has to do and he just needs to go do it. Another kid I am excited for is Trent. This kid pours his heart and soul into the sport. Last season he should have placed having beat the 3rd place finisher in the regional finals, but drawing Eric Roach in the ticket round, ended his individual season a week early. At last I am excited to watch Sandefer go for number 2. When he is on the mat, I simply get excited watching him just GO, his athleticism is ridiculous and he can put you on your back from anywhere. I wish all the Caveman wrestlers good luck and bring back a ton of hardware Alrighty I'm going to end this here for now. My next post will prolly update how I am doing and my thoughts on Team State. ha... yah there is i have to be on i got a lot of good kids in my region but if have a good day i could qualify just gotta give it everything this next to weeks to prepare

wcs whats your obsession with having 16 state qualifiers? the point is not to make us an instantaneous powerhouse, where its more of a fact of leveling the playing field so kids from smaller schools will have a much better chance of being able to go out and showcase their talents in the state tournament. I want to know why 1 class is better than 2?

haha lets just say college makes your flaws very very evident ha ha ha our ff was due to a couple idiots who decided class was not important our 41 pounder is actually our backup 133 i was told indy sent some of there team like panko to a tournament to get some extra matches but im not certain.

sandefer won they are fixed now i dunno why they r so messed up tho
