Delta was a dynasty in the early 80's, but then faded away. Will MD return to the top of the podium in a couple of years? I think MD will continue to have a strong program in the foreseable future, return to Team State, and win some more championships. No disrespect to Delta with a great history.

White had a good run this year. I wonder with Schneider and Ruggari as previous MTV heavy weight champs, has there ever been another school with more than 2 different heavy weight champs in their history? Actually, another interesting question would be what school has had the most different champs at a specific weight class? That's probably harder to figure out than Heavy Weight since the weight classes have changed. Maybe easier or more relevant at the other end - which school has produced the most light-weight champs at whatever the lowest weight was for that particular year (e.g., 95, 98, 103)?

Dang, my first start-a-post ever, and all it got me was negative 5 cool points and a bunch of girls angry at me. I will have to admit I did like those gag reflex smilie faces from ff. I'll have to come up with a different survey or I'll end up like that narcodude with all those negative cool points. As I'm writing this, I'm laughing out loud.

Every time I see "lol" I want to puke. Especially if the person posting puts it after their own post. Are wrestlers really using smiley faces? Come on dudes, smiley faces are for girls.

The Junior class is a blip. I think only about 6 went out their freshman year 2 years ago. I also don't think there are as many MD feeder league kids wrestling in the off-season trnys as there used to be. At least I don't recognize a lot of names in the box scores in the paper or in the ISWA website results. Back in the hey-day, you would see Macke, Weinzapfels, Nosko, Mauer, Coughlins, etc, etc. (plus a whole bunch of other not so well known names from the MD program) wrestling all most every weekend. A few years ago, I started seeing a bunch of Reitzs' names in the box scores. That wave has reached High School and their success reflects that participation. Since I was unfamiliar with the names in the Castle program, I can't comment on their participation in the off-season trnys (I am definitely familiar with their names now). Summer wrestling makes winter champions.
