  1. Mike Mossbrucker of Bloomington North. 155 lbs in 1976. 22-6 = .785 The Imperial Potentate and Grand Poobah of Classless wrestling in Indiana. I wear my Fez with pride. www.theancientelder.net
  2. Brey, More than one wrestler has lost a State championship based on a referee's decision. I can think of one championship match where both wrestlers lost a championship based on a referee's decision. And just for the record it was a GOOD decision. 3. Good article on Mike Mossbrucker in the Winter 2008 Mooresville magazine. Mike is the AD for Mooresville HS. He was the 155 lbs State Champ from Bloomington North in '76. But that gray beard has got to go! TheAncientElder (TAE) The Imperial Potentate and Grand Poobah of Classless wrestling in Indiana. I wear my Fez with pride. www.theancientelder.net
  4. Ask Merrillville. They managed to do it at their own Semi-State last year. TheAncientElder (TAE) The Imperial Potentate and Grand Poobah of Classless wrestling in Indiana. I wear my Fez with pride. www.theancientelder.net
  5. OK, I will give you two easy ones to research: Two Indiana wrestlers with the same first/Last Names that made it to the state finals: 1. "Steel Drivin' man"? 2. Two Ind. State Champs with same name as two time Olympic Champ/Six time World Champ? TheAncientElder (TAE) The Imperial Potentate and Grand Poobah of Classless wrestling in Indiana. I wear my Fez with pride. www.theancientelder.net
  6. NCGRAD00, Just based on the database from the state finals, I would say yes. There are so many last name matches and a few last name/first name matches that the odds are in your favor of a name match at all levels. 7. I am about to go negative on my cool point here but what the hell. For those of you who may remember, somebody in the Reece camp opted to bump down from 130 to 125 at sectional time in 2004. Robbing the wrestling community of one hell of a match. It would have been Angel vs Reece for 130. Angel majored Reece 13-5 at the state in 2002. 8. renegade: Four time state champion Estell Ritter of Bloomington was a freshman state champion at 175 lbs (the heaviest weight class at the time) in 1924. 9. Warrendad, I stand corrected. I am currently reformating the database for a new book and I have not got that area proofed. TheAncientElder (TAE) The Imperial Potentate and Grand Poobah of Classless wrestling in Indiana. I wear my Fez with pride. www.theancientelder.net
  10. midget5589, Odam had 13 losses last year and still placed 6th. Tournament time is a brand new season. You should learn from your losses. I think he did last year. 14. Damn! This recruiting is FUN!!! Or you could consider ?The Cradle Of Indiana Wrestling?: Bloomington South High School 24 Team State Championships 122 Individual State Champions 38 - Most Individual Champions under one coach 7 ? Most Individual State Champions in one year TheAncientElder (TAE) The Imperial Potentate and Grand Poobah of Classless wrestling in Indiana. I wear my Fez with pride. www.theancientelder.net
  15. This book is awsome! Just received my copy and I echo MatChick76. A lot of detail and a lot of effort. Keep up the good work. I am eagerly awaiting my copy of the MD book? 16. fire77, This is a Team tournament, not a individual tournament! TheAncientElder (TAE) The Imperial Potentate and Grand Poobah of Classless wrestling in Indiana. I wear my Fez with pride. www.theancientelder.net

  18. No, Bedoy beat himself out of a state title with a head butt against Cooper in 2002. The final score was 2-1. The penalty point cost him a overtime and a shot at the title. TheAncientElder (TAE) The Imperial Potentate and Grand Poobah of Classless wrestling in Indiana. I wear my Fez with pride. www.theancientelder.net
  19. Worth the price! I have several from previous years and I would recommend it to any wrestling fan. Another one you might look up is the Bloomington South Annual publication. And a trip to their Legends Night is a stroll down memory lane for the fanatics. TheAncientElder (TAE) The Imperial Potentate and Grand Poobah of Classless wrestling in Indiana. 20. And I thought I was a cranky Old Fart. I can't hold a candle to this guy. TheAncientElder (TAE) The Imperial Potentate and Grand Poobah of Classless wrestling in Indiana. I wear my Fez with pride. www.theancientelder.net
  21. No. I do no show him as a former wrestler for Martinsville. TheAncientElder (TAE) The Imperial Potentate and Grand Poobah of Classless wrestling in Indiana. I wear my Fez with pride. www.theancientelder.net
  22. Randolph would have destroyed Cameron. Wtih the new TIME OUT rules Cameron would have had to punch himself in the nose several times to get additional recovery time. My son wrestled both and Randolph was head and sholders the best. TheAncientElder (TAE) The Imperial Potentate and Grand Poobah of Classless wrestling in Indiana. 23. Poster child for the 215 lbs weight class. The 215 weight pound class was not used until 1995. The jump was from 189 to Hwt. 1991 189 Q 09 Damon Hummel Rochester 26-2. State qualifier. 24. AJ, The answer is NO. There are no 4-time or 3-time runner-ups that have not won the state. There are more than a few 2-timers. But just for discussion purposes consider the following: The three thirds and never a title: Mike Runyon- Bloomington South- 3rd at 119, 130, and 135 in 87, 89, and 90. The four fourths and never a title: Nick Koons- Bellmont- 4th at 112, 119, and 130 in 98, 99, and 01. Jay Mack- Merrillville- 4th at 98, 112, and 126 in 83, 84,and 85. Robert Patty- Bloomington- 4th at heavyweight in 37, 38, and 39. Sidney Hill- Terre Haute Wiley- 4th at 100 (twice) and 115 in 32, 33, and 34 TheAncientElder (TAE) The Imperial Potentate and Grand Poobah of Classless wrestling in Indiana.
