  2. I think of all weight classes 119 could be the most interesting especially with Hawkins, Nelson, and Lovejoy on the same side of the bracket.
  3. I think an interesting aspect of this may be the lay-off for some of the wrestlers. With Mishawaka having 10 kids go to state and CP only 4 how will it effect them since some of these kids have not wrestled in a live match since the individual regional unlike in years past when they had to wrestle in the team semi-state the week before individual semi-state. Is the live competition better or is it going to be rest and recovery, should be very interesting.

NMS 69 Riverside 27 Cougar Classic: 2nd Place NMS 82 Carmel 36 NMS 42 Westfield 59 NMS 88 Craig 31 NMS 49 Pendleton Heights 59 NMS 74 Creekside 26 NMS 43 Lebanon 52 Great match last night between the Millers and the Tigers came down to the last two matches. Next up for the Millers they travel to Lynnhurst for a triple dual with Lynnhurst, Avon South and Creekside.
  6. Many teams in sectionals do not face each other throughout the year as well. It just depends on the sectional that they are placed in. I know in the Hamilton Heights Sectional Noblesville may have wrestled one or two teams there. I think that Crown Point may have only wrestled one or two teams there as well. The thing is that if you set up the criteria right you follow the criteria and that should settle the arguments for you and then you would have a seeded state. It really is not rocket science and trust me I have sat through enough seeding meetings to know that.
  7. If it was in a dual I would say yes. When they seed a sectional do they just discount those matches that a kid when a kid may have wrestled another kid from a different state? No those are added in too so I see no difference when it comes to a team as well.
  8. Lets say that they did want to seed it, it probably would be seeded much like an individual trny would be seeded. I think it would probably look something like this in term of seeding criteria: 1. Overall Dual Meet Record 2. Common Opponents 3. Strength of Schedule 4. Placing in Individual tournamnets There are also other things to take into consideration as well but I think that would be a good place to start.

  10. OK help me understand this: Crown Point Loses to the Number 1 team in the state and is #6 Castle Loses to the #4 team in the state and is ranked #5 They both have one lose in terms of dual meets and CP was ranked above Castle for the first 3 or 4 weeks of the season I am just really confused with the logic in that ranking. :-\
  11. We have one and it is nice. The only downside is it eats up a lot of mat tape (almost a roll and a half if not more).
  12. Also they have now split into two middle schools and with that instead of just having 20 to 25 kids with middle school varsity experience you have 40 to 50. I know that has helped out a lot of big schools by increasing the talent pool and I am sure it will do the same for CP. All in all it should be another great year for region wrestling.
  13. I thought it was awesome and the way the fans and teams got behind it was great. Now I love the individual tournament, but this one was great since there was not a bad seat in the house and afterwards you could walk down on the floor to get a close up view of the celebration. I too will be back it was a great day.
  14. I too as a former CP wrestler want to say great job today. I am glad I made it down there to see the action it was awesome.
  15. Anyone have any idea about what time the finals will start?
  16. Can anyone give the current scores from all 4 mats?
  17. As a former CP wrestler and current wrestling coach I have been told I have some of the most respectful teams in the area, and a lot of the things that were taught to me by Coach Vlink I teach t my kids in our room and none of it has to do with shaking the opposing coaches hand after a match.
  18. I went though this on another post and that year they had 4 state champs.
  19. By the way I was not getting fired up I was saying you can't call for sour grapes when someone is just asking for more info about a situation. No one is making excuses for him I was just pointing out what I knew from what I read. By the way here is the part of the article that talks about it: Under the weather: A case of strep throat took its toll on Crown Point's Eric Roach (40-2). He went into the semifinals unbeaten, then lost his final two matches, 6-2 in the semis to Brown County's Mitchell Richey and 3-1 in the consolations to Carmel's Will Mascaro. "It really affected my conditioning," Roach said. "I don't like to make excuses. I should've put it out of my head. The kids who beat me were really good. People have their days and this just wasn't my day."[/b
  20. Wow the guy asks a question and it is sour grapes, come on. By the way yes he was sick I just read it in NWI Times and it said a he had strep (sp) throat and in the article it states that he was not making excuses and it was just not his day.
  21. With comments like this, I am worried about your safety. Put down the CP Kool Aid before you get Kool Aid poisoning. 4-5 state champs in one year is unheard of and your comment wreaks of bias. I'm going to take a shot in the dark and say you wrestled at CP. Sorry to say but 4 state champs in one year is not unheard of. Mater Dei did it in 2003 and Griffith did it in 2004 so to say it is unheard of would be wrong. Didn't LN do it, around my senior year I think (92). Why yes they did, let me look and see if there are any others. Teams with five state champs in one year: Bloomington 1950 Teams with four state champs in one year: East Chicago Roosevelt 1934 Hammond 1938 Bloomington 1939 Bloomington 1943 Tech 1952 Delta 1981 Lawrence North 1992 Mater Dei 2003 Griffith 2004
