  1. Ya, I have a student vs. a close family friend in the first round, so I am picking neither.
  2. I'll set myself up here for criticism. 1. I haven't been that impressed with Green this year. I think part of this might be that he doesn't blow anyone out. He has wrestled the Huntington North 215 twice, and won by a point both times. He doesn't really have an impressive win this year (mostly because of the schedule they've wrestled). I also thought long and hard about picking Chalfant over Green. 2. I agree that picking against West is idiotic. 3. I would think Ehr is the favorite, but it was 5-1 at the ACAC, so I guess it was close. 4. Smith could easily get beat by Meska. 5. The quarter of Crume, Rothgeb, and Hormann is about as wide open as they come. Hormann has wrestled really well against Rothgeb (beating him, in my opinion, at the Bellmont Super Dual). I think Crume is probably the favorite there though. There isn't much that differentiates Crume from Rothgeb.
  3. I would love to debate any one of them with you. The only one that I would consider a stretch is 130, but I think the Hormann that lost to Crume at Mishawaka has gotten a lot better.
  4. I'll go with my 4 state qualifiers in order from top of the bracket to bottom: 103-Hamm, Bevans, Busz, Garretson 112-Gilbert, Gonzales, Randle, Crume 119-Eckert, Franklin, Ross, Lovejoy 125-Letourneau, Bevans, Perry, Barroquillo 130-Jackson, Hormann, Fiechter, Smith 135-Faurote, Hill, Heistand, Harry 140-Martin, Beck, Schwartz, Thiel 145-Ehr, Sparks, Lefever, Hiple 152-Corpe, Mahlan, Hogendobler, LaRowe 160-Lefever, Lloyd, Hankenson, McCray 171-Bratcher, Raypole, Hamilton, Castner 189-Scott, Thatcher, Scott, Dillenbeck 215-Biberstine, Mills, Green, Hendrickson 285-Meyer, West, Cooper, Janney
  5. I am sure that I am biased on this issue, but I am not sure how Daniel Meyer is not the favorite to come out of his quarter. What is Eck's best victory? Meyer has lost to five of the 6 guys ranked #1-#6 in the state at HWT. He has beaten everyone else. I know rankings don't matter, but I just think a returning State Qualifier deserves a little more respect.
  6. Does anyone know where to find the link for last year's brackets with all of the scores? Somehow in moving since then I lost mine.
  7. If Hormann were to somehow get by Crume, he has lost to Rothgeb twice in OT. The last time he lost on a coin flip of a takedown call. He is definitely right there.
  8. They're not adding anything. Read the article......
  9. I see no reason for a redraw. After the beating that the last coach took for throwing a match, it should be pretty evident that it is not right. What about the kid at the other regional that DID win his match and DID get a better draw? Somehow, in your infinite wisdom, you think it is somehow fair to screw him out of the draw that he got? That doesn't make any sense to me at all.
  10. Everything looks great except for the fact that they aren't letting Connor Wyatt wrestle. That's a shame. I do not see how his situation is any different than the others. I guarantee you he was under weight when more than half the kids weighed in before weigh-ins were supposed to start. Other than that, I can't complain.
  11. I am just questioning this in a logistical fashion. How are they going to determine who wrestles whom at the weight classes where there were more than one kid left out? I am assuming that 1t 103 Gavin Cox-Winchester (9) (28-8) will wrestler Jacob Girod from Bellmont and Ryan Phenis-Randolph Southern (11) (26-5) will wrestle Ben Fiechter from Southern Wells (this works out very well considering that these were the original matchups to start with) At 112, I am guessing they have to let Connor Wyatt-Union City (9) (31-5) wrestle Blake Adams-Bellmont at 119 Angel Rascon-Winchester (9) (25-14) will wrestle Phil Gerber-Bluffton at 135 Paul Stoddard-Randolph Southern (12) (20-12) will wrestle Clayton Harry from Wapahani at 140 Kevin Dines-Winchester (12) (23-13) will wrestle TJ Burnfield from South Adams at 145 Zach Boyd-Winchester (11) (21-5) will wrestle Kyle King of Bluffton at 152 Jordan Simmons-Winchester (11) (29-6) will get the opportunity to wrestle a rematch of the sectional finals against Smith of Yorktown at 160 Dylan Holcomb-Winchester (12) (30-6) will wrestle Trent Fuller from Blackford at 171 Taylor Mock-Winchester (12) (22-14) will wrestle Ben Pfister of Bluffton and Steve Phillips-Randolph Southern (12) (20-8) will wrestle Nick Taylor from South Adams at 189 Steve Thomas-Monroe Central (12) (22-9) will wrestle Kyle Garringer from Jay County at 215 Andrew Chalfant-Winchester (11) (33-4) will wrestle Matt James-Jay County (12) (35-4) Taylor Morris-Monroe Central (10) (26-7) will wrestle someone, maybe Andrew Bultemeier-Bellmont Matt Prewitt-Union City (12) (16-10) will wrestle someone, what would be the most fair would be for him to wrestle Neff, since that was his opening round opponent, but I don't know. 1. Neff 2. Biberstine 3. Bultemeier 4. JAmes at HWT Justin Hershberger-Winchester (12) (21-15) will wrestle Elijah Justice from Blackford. Although a lot of kids from teams other than Winchester are going to suffer because of this, I like it, and it is probably the best thing to do.
  12. I'm not sure I even want to ask what that is supposed to mean...............? I am pretty sure the three that got forfeits were Sectional Champs and most likely would have won anyways. I am not sure how this has anything to do with the argument.
  13. But they won't know who draws into what regional champ.
  14. Ya, and the kid lost anyways. Ouch!

  16. You bet we did. If there was one thing I learned at college, it WAS to question authority.
  17. I'm not sure how much I agree with this philosophy. Don't question authority? Just accept it?
  18. It looks like Bellmont is sending 12 on to Ft. Wayne. Penn has 10. Mishawaka has 13, their 103 didn't make it out.
  19. Partial Results 112-Randle wins 119-Eckert beats Miller from NW in semis and then takes 1st 215-Dylan Green-Kokomo d. Alex Evans-HN 3-2 285-Buckalew over Cooper in semis
