I think the question was big December wins..... Man I've thought about this for days and can't remember names but at Mooresville around 2012 or 2013 an unraked kid from Evansville Central, not Kemper or Kelley, hit a nasty mixer on a #1 ranked kid from Yorktown and pinned him. That was a big December win, I'm not sure he qualified for state but upsets of that magnitude don't come along that often in wrestling.

Imagine waking up to a message from @donniebaker telling me to get Cascade in and make it a done deal. I didn't even know I had that kind of power..... Oh my goodness, could we cry some more..... Holy smokes...... I do the EVANSVILLE Semi-State rankings, not the jasper Semi-State rankings 1 - Lack of hotels in Jasper vs Eville 2 - They only allowed fans after @tskin and I opened up the flood gates with our attacks 3 - Gerst Haus is better than any German establishment in Jasper 4 - Franklin Ave 5 - Wrestling is a secondary experience for the casual fan or the parents.... Evansville is popping..... Jasper is.......Jasper This place.....semi state?!?!?! Or this place Brewer hide those mints better, Coop wipe up your tears, We going to the CRESCENT CITY, EVANSVILLE BBBBABBBBBYYYYYYY

Knee jerk reactions as I'm doing the rankings - 120 is DIIIIIIRRRRRRTTTTYYYY Miller, Gilbert, and Nelson headline a group of 17 dudes that would be state qualifiers in any of the other 4 semi states, and would probably win multiple weights at Ft Wayne but they all won't even be SSQs at Evansville, wowsers!!!

Evansville Rankings will be out by Friday. Per normal I'll list some kids in multiple weights, I'll list teammates in the same weight (wait Conway and May aren't teammates anymore? Shoot!), and I'll sprinkle in some 5th year seniors. Oh and by Friday I mean I hope to have them out Wednesday. Good luck this year! The Dirty Dirty South will be rolling and collecting medals. If you live in the Fort Wayne area, skip the trip to Indy. If you live in the East Chicago Area, don't listen to the region hype all year it'll hurt even more when you get sent home Friday night by some hilljack from the boondocks, and if you go through New Castle.... I'm sorry.... Letttttttssssssssssssss Gooooooooooooooooo #MouthOfTheSouth

Prayers to Charlestown Wrestling and the VanGilder family as they lost Kamm VanGilder over the weekend. Kamm was Charlestown's 106lber and was set to have a magnificent wrestling career for Coach Adam Doherty and the Pirates. The staff at IndianaMat would like to send our condolences to the VanGilders and the Charlestown Pirates. I didn't personally know Kamm but I go way back with Adam and the staff at Charlestown and as a parent to 2 teenagers and a coach my heart is absolutely gutted and wrecked. Life is precious, tell your kids and wrestlers how much they mean to you because you just never know. My son never placed at Folkstate….. until he started playing travel baseball and his wrestling season got cut in half. His best year was last year (year 7 for him) and it was the least amount he has ever wrestled. Maybe 20-25 (rough guess) matches from Thanksgiving to Folk state.
