  1. 2020 Wrestling Rankings per Sectional, Regional, SS.xlsx There are going to be at least 18 wrestlers who are ranked in the Top 16 losing at the NCSS. That is not including any upsets, which I am sure will occur, so you can probably count on 20+ ranked wrestlers going home disappointed. I believe 12 out of the 14 weights have at least 5 kids ranked...good luck to all.
  2. He didn't wrestle the kid listed on the original post, he defeated a sophomore name Stahl. But I agree, Wolf looked good and you can tell he has plenty of skill.
  3. 106 - Ruble will be in the running based on current results and he is the favorite at FWSS providing him a 4th place finisher Friday night. Saturday morning though could provide him a Schoeeff or Lowery depending on the draw but I guess Final 8 will be tough regardless. 113 - Sturgill or Brooks may medal, but probably 5th is best case scenario 120 - It will be a tough to get a medal at this weight. Look at top 7 and you say, DAMN.....3-7 have only lost to either Seltzer or Bettich. 126 - Bertsch highest ranked at #11. Depending on who wins the FWSS, they will have a chance to medal, I don't see anyone beyond that winning Friday night. 132 - Cottingham and Heath could place high...but winning is probably out of the question. Thanks Mr. Mendez. 138 - NCSS is loaded at this weight with Bailey, Wagner, Mattingly and Ross and EVSS has Boarman, Conway and Campbell. Friday night could be a nightmare for ECSS & FWSS. 145 - Fiechter has the best chance to go top semi's, but I think this is a 2-horse race with Mr. Viduya and Mr. Ellis. 152 - Getting a top 8 finish is going to be tough. 160 - Levitz & Pettigrew have the best chances to win so far but then you look at the other contenders and just shake your head....Dickens, Rodgers, Noehre....my $ is on Noehre to break through this year. 170 - Fielden has to be in the running, he got 2nd last year at the same weight losing to South. Calhoun had an impressive summer, fall and winter; he is going to be hard to beat. With that said, I think Fielden has as good as chance as anyone to be under the lights. 182 - Winner has went 7th, 8th and 5th...is this the year he wins it all? Walker is really good, really good. It will be an upset but upsets have occurred before. 195 - 1. Allred is champ. 2. FWSS top ranked wrestler is #11 and there are some good kids 2-10...not happening. 220 - Gray has NO RESULTS posted (which is a shame) so tough for me make an educated choice. Ranked #3 and finished 6th last year...he should have a good shot but Bates & Webster are probably a little better 285 - Erb highest ranked, but anyone outside of the top 5 has an uphill batter.
  4. 126 - #1 Ray Rioux dec (1-0) #7 Kysen Montgomery
  5. 145 - #1 Alec Viduya MD (15-2) #9 Jeff Dunasky
  6. I was using the results from Middle School State for my reasoning. Pierson and Lowery are studs and i believe at least one of them will be under the lights.
  7. I am looking forward to seeing the top 20 from each class and the pound for pound list. I don't have the knowledge to know the National Credentials so those rankings are very informative to me.
  8. Agreed. CP is good, but the only wrestler to avoid is Mr. Mendez. With that said they do have a handful of wrestlers that could bring home the title.
  9. At CCC: 145 - #1 Viduya vs #9 Dunasky
  10. My opinion on what weights has the best chance to make State: 106 - Dylan Lengerich: Probably an extremely difficult ticket round match 113 - Blake Wolf: I like his chances to advance but if he draws into North Montgomery or Perry Meridian he will most likely need to beat a state ranked wrestler. 120 - Tyler Schneider: For starters he must avoid Zeke Seltzer, Carson Eldred, Christian White, Carlton Perry, AJ Gunn, Antonio Jefferson, Jacob Simone and Kody Glithero.... 126 - Rider Searcy: Impressive results on trackwrestling and undefeated on the year; I give him a realistic shot of making State if (1) he can win his Regional and (2) avoid either Lowery, Pierson in the ticket round. 145: Ben Wolf: Solid wrestler, could be ranked at the NCSS but the 8 above him are all good. 145 is a rough road at NCSS so winning regional is huge to avoid the pressure of defeating 2 ranked wrestlers to make State. 152: Bryer Hall: He should qualify for State but potential ticket round matchup, with a hammer, if he draws into Perry Regional. 182: Kole Viel: Win regional and avoid North Montgomery or Perry Meridian 2nd/3rd place finisher in ticket round. 195: Kyle Krummen: Most likely 2nd place finisher at Regional, he will still advance except if he matches up with JD Farrell in the ticket round and then it goes to 50/50. I put the o/u number at 3.5.
  11. They appear to have a quality team, obviously they will need a good showing in the State Tournament -- looking at their sectional & regional they should have a good # of wrestlers showing up at NCSS. I watched them at the Harrison Dual and came away impressed with their energy & ability; they may surprise a few kids in the opening and/or ticket round.
  12. FYI -- I am inputting the 3A results where both wrestlers are either (1) ranked or (2) they are listed in the database. Plenty to see...find them in the results section.
  13. Tough to win a match when you give up 6 pins and a TF.
  14. Roncalli doesn't have Bryce Lowery in the lineup at 106 and their backup gives up 6...12 point swing in their match with Columbus East.
  15. #6 Tyce Freije (Roncalli) vs #7 Kade Law (Columbus East) -- 1st period Tyce the aggressor, Law is protecting like the "Law" should...0-0 end of 1st Law with an escape and TD, 3-0 Tyce with reversal, 3-2 in the 2nd Law with escape, Tyce with a TD with 1 second left....4-4 to start the 3rd.....Tyce is down Tyce with the lead, 5-4.....1:30 left Law with TD, Tyce with escape...6-6 with 30 seconds left Tyce with the TD in OT....big win for Mr. Freije....8-6
  16. Fitts was DQ in his next match ...... he will not have a tomorrow in this tournament.
  17. Good start for the Irish. All wins -- 106-Forfeit, 113-Fall, 120-Forfeit, 126-MD, 132-Dec, 138-Fall, 145-Dec, 160-Fall, 170-Fall, 182-Fall, 195-Forfeit, 220-Forfeit. Crown Point had losses at 160, 182 (forfeit), 195, 220 and 285. Still extremely early but the Irish are out of the gate blazing.
  18. It was running earlier, did you get that information from Mark Durham? I assumed it would be fixed prior to actual wrestling starting.
  19. My daughter attends Bama, so I am hopeful you are 1/2 right....I actually see IU winning, it is time for them to get back on the winning side when it comes to a bowl game.
  20. Check that, they just posted Bout #'s for the Roncalli team, but only one assigned to a Mat.
